Food great! Service prompt and friendly. Having pre booked we would have expected to be seated in the restaurant area, we were in the main bar area which is ok but wasn’t expected as it is the dog friendly area - something to consider when booking.

Egerton Arms Astbury – Congleton2nd time we have had Sunday dinner here and the food was consistently good. We would defo go again. Only down side was the lack of attentiveness in regards to drinks, they could have made a lot more money on our table alone if the staff went checking for drinks.

We Had 3 roast dinners . Veg was good. The lamb was very poor. Very thinly sliced and only two thin pieces. For the money it was not good value at all. The mint sauce was just mushed mint. This was not a sauce. The two boys who were waiting on had zero customer service skills!!! No manners what so ever and boarded on been rude. They definitely need training in clearing plates from tables!!! We thought we were going to get them thrown at us as he throw the cutlery from one plate to another!!! We had desserts 2 crumbles and a bread and butter pud with cream. The bread and butter came with custard of which I sent back for it to be returned correctly but it was cold so I had to sent it back!!! I was told it was going to be taken off the bill but it wasn’t so I didn’t leave a tip. Very disappointing over all.
Egerton Arms Astbury – CongletonWent for Lunch yesterday for my Mum’s 84th birthday and had a lovely time- it’s so nice that the kitchen only start to prep the mains when we’ve finished the starters, instead of rushing the food out! Staff are always really helpful and attentive too. Starters were lovely, and 3 of our mains were perfect, just 1 was less so, but the staff dealt with it promptly and resolved the situation really well - as my Dad said, it’s things like this that make you more than happy to visit again!

Egerton Arms Astbury – CongletonWe had been to the Egerton on a good few occasions for drinks and bar snacks but not eaten in the restaurant. We received a nice, warm welcome (as always) and found a seat in the bar, as we were approximately half an hour early for our table. Once we'd all arrived (x8) we were seated in the restaurant which was lovely. We were all offered (further) drinks at the table whilst we perused the menu. Considering the ages ranged from 12 to 80 yrs, there was something for everybody, including some great starters. We were served throughout the evening and never short of a drink etc. As we were celebrating a birthday, the cake was brought out for us by the 'team' to a lovely chorus! The food was delicious and arrived very quickly. Beautiful setting and an old worldly charm inside. Highly recommended and will certainly go again.

My main complaint was that we ordered pizza garlic bread for starters and I stressed more than once that it was a starter (it was on the starter menu). So disappointing then that when our mains came I was told the garlic bread is also on its way. Basic mistake that shouldn't happen. Ultimately enjoyed our food but not blown away. Would go back but not in a rush - plenty of other places to try in the area.
