Mediocre. Service was slow, took a long time for drinks to arrive, main course wasn’t too bad, but then took a while for additional sauces to arrive. Had to ask for another drink and dessert menu, both of which then took a while to arrive again, also had to ask for the bill. Staff were pleasant and friendly enough, but seemed chaotic and disorganised, seemed to be a lot of wandering around aimlessly and chatting at the bar by the young ladies working. I had hoped for a bit more character given the history of the pub, but it was more of a generic pub type interior. Scruffy appearance of waiting staff didn’t help, I know it’s not a top class restaurant, but lots of scruffy faded jeans, plastic fashion belts, chunky trainers etc didn’t help the appearance. Drinks were fine, but expensive for location. Food (surf and turf/steak on a stone) was lovely and the main redeeming feature. Dessert was poor, eton mess sundae was mainly ice cream with a small squirt of strawberry sauce, and a small meringue on top. In all, ok for a pub meal, not worth pushing the boat out though and paying for dessert, drinks etc as well as rapidly ends up expensive for mediocre evening. Food quality needs improving for the price charged and some work on service standards and efficiency of staff.

Very poor experience. Food was mediocre. Service appalling. We left before we had desert. Ordered it with two different staff members and after 40 minutes we still hadn’t received it so cancelled order. How long can it take to cut a piece of cheesecake. We weren’t the only ones having a poor experience, two other tables round us had issues. If managed well it could be a success.

The new decor is very nice with a good mixture of seating. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food is very ‘Pub grub’ but that’s fine. The quality was good and very good portion size. Chocolate brownies were very good! Pizzas are fantastic, some of the best we’ve had and we had these as takeaway on our second night. Toppings a bit different to standard ones you would expect which was nice.

While on holiday we visited The Molesworth Arms. Nice pub that was very accommodating. They managed to find us a table on a busy Saturday evening which we really appreciated. The menu is varied with a lot of options. Service was excellent. We returned for a second visit a few day later which was also a good experience.

The food was brilliant, we had no complaints. My drink was slow in arriving but the cost was taken off the bill without asking, so no complaints.

Wonderful food, at a reasonable price. Lovely friendly staff despite being run off their feet.

Very disappointed if I’m honest. Went for an evening meal at the boatyard restaurant and apart from the service which was great, everything was below expectations. We ordered the steak on a stone but it was not made clear on the menu that it wasn’t cook AT ALL before coming out, it was literally raw, no seasoning, no partial cooking, so we then had to sit an wait for the steak to cook and considering I like it well done it took a while, so then the chips were cold. The reviews and photos online are quite misleading .

Booked a table for 2 for a birthday meal for my friend. Turned up earlier thinking we could get a drink but they didn't have my booking on their computer even though I show the waitress my booking email. We were put in the back room, while other tables were empty in the front of the restaurant, however gave benefit of the doubt due to restrictions, took a while to take our drinks order, food order was taken only for the waitress to return to inform us they had no mussels left.. starters and main course came out at same time, was then asked what we wanted to do with the main course, take it back to kitchen was our response, finished our starters and the mains were brought out straight away, before we had even started our main we were advised that we needed to finish the main and drink up as they didn't have enough staff for the evening shift, we couldn't believe what we had just heard.. no customer service at all, swiftly ate what we could, drank up, paid and left. I am a local, not a holiday maker and I manage a retail establishment and if my staff took this approach I would be mortified. I will not return or recommend this restaurant. We then took a walk along the high street stopping at FUEL, had an amazing reception, a lovely desert with coffee to finish off a birthday evening. FUEL we will be back.

The Molesworth Arms benefits from friendly staff and a good atmosphere. The food unfortunately is where it is let down. Poached eggs are hard each morning, when request it to be runny the white of the egg was also runny. Sometimes you get a fruit compost with granola and yogurt, sometimes you don't. Sometimes you get 2 slices of toast other times you get one. We arrived at 6pm for an evening meal to be told over half of the menu was unavailable. Other odd things such as things not quite what you ordered unfortunately let the Molesworth Arms down. We came here 2 years ago where things were much better, although the decor has improved.

A lovely experience, from start to finish. It was easy to precook on line with times and availability clearly shown. The service was excellent with drinks brought to our table immediately. The Raspberry and Rhubarb Collins cocktail was lovely. The tapas and burritos were delicious with plenty of food for the four of us. Our first meal out as a family was super. Thank you to all the staff.

Amazing. Really couldn't fault anything. Spot on food and the service received from Kieron was 5*. Being local we normally go next door to the Molesworth arms and tried something different. Was definitely worth it. Nice intimate restraunt with a really relaxed atmosphere. Would highly recommend the cocktails and lobster.

Very disappointing starting with the menu of pizzas, chips & burgers. The “modern seafood “ dishes turned out to be fish & chips or scampi & chips!! The Aberdeen Angus lasagne was awful with slimy pasta & very little meat sauce. If there was any bechamel sauce in it I never found it. The scampi & chips was adequate. The service was good as was the wine. Wouldn’t go there again.

Overpriced and poor quality. Atmosphere was fine but having booked for lunch to be told once we had been sat for a while waiting for someone to take our order that they didn’t have half the menu available and then what arrived wasn’t the quality described. Dirty glass just added to the impression. Disappointing
