We dined here just before Xmas excellent value for money and very welcoming landlord and staff.

This is a great summer stop-off for a pasty and a pint as you drift up the river. Fantastic view looking out over the river and a cosy little bar and tables inside. I wish they opened in the winter so that you could enjoy the log fire!

Great view. However I don't go to an Indian for the view, food is acceptable, service rushed and a little conveyor like.

Visit this place for location alone - and make sure you sit outside! The staff and the locals are very friendly, the foods good and so is the beer - all you're left wanting is a sunny day!

Lunch on an overcast Jan day was cheered up with a hot generous serving of Monkfish Cassoulet and an excellent crab risotto.

The mussels with kaffir lime were an inspiration; the venison sublime. Just another reason to wish I lived in St.Ives. No view to see on a winter evening but who cares!

I went for lunch recently I always try new restaurant openings, I confess that I had been to Tabbs when it was in Portreath and had a great meal. So expectations were high especially as the new Tabbs was so beautifully decked out, contemporary with high backed chairs and elegantly laid tables. There are still a lot of people who go out to eat in Cornwall with a certain expectation for the food to be plentiful and low cost, that? fine if the restaurants policy is to buy at the lower end of the produce spectrum and there are plenty of places to go for that. When however the chef is accomplished, passionate and wants you to be bowled over by intensity and purity of flavour and wowed by presentation, the menu is designed to give a balanced and satisfying meal over three courses. Always letting the top quality of the ingredients speak for themselves, this is what Tabbs is all about! Quality over quantity. I was very impressed by lunch here, from the breads made fresh every morning, the exciting starters to the main of rare breed duck and the house speciality- the desserts. They work very hard at the attention to detail and the fact that NOTHING is bought in no not even the petit fours. Truro is achanging and as the more discerning diners hone in, there is a place for Tabbs as there is for Saffron, Chantek, Stingi and others. Bring it on !

Another great meal here, the rib eye was top quality and cooked expertly, the music an additions the experience and the overall quality top notch, great home made breads and desserts. If you haven? yet, Go!

It is very refreshing to be able to enjoy a quality contemporary Asian restaurant in Cornwall. Great building and interior with warm and friendly waiters and the foods fab too. Cant wait to go back.

On the strength of the Good Hotel Guide 2002 we stayed at this excellent small hotel last year, and were so impressed that we booked for a longer stay in September this year. We cannot speak too highly of the ambience, comfort and cuisine. The whole hotel has been redecorated in elegant, tranquil colours. Dinner is taken in a candle lit panelled dining room, while breakfast is served in the conservatory. The choice at breakfast was quite the best we experienced in any of the hotels we stayed in during our recent holiday in the south west. A five course was also beautifully cooked with a choice of four starters, main courses sweets and a good selection of local cheeses (although we did find the portions over generous.) The menu is complimented by a very reasonably priced wine list. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable with an en-suite bathroom containing a walk in shower as well as a bath. After dinner we were tempted to linger over coffee in the hotel lounge where comfortable sofas and arm chairs, as well as the log fire made us feel very much at home.

Excellent homemade organic breads, Real food in the cafe, amazing breakfasts and lunches. Everything the cook needs to make exciting dishes at home plus a superb selection of local cheese and pates. Try the sausage rolls made by local people for local people!!

My friends and I eat in St. Ives regularly and find it a fun and relaxed atmosphere, the portions are huge and service extremely quick and friendly. Would recommend for a great night out.

We have eaten in the restaurant and had a take away delivered to our apartment. The food was attractively presented and full of authentic flavours.

let me tell you something, I always go for breakfast with my mum in two places in truro! One being Saffron there ten deadly sins are amazing! But secondly I go to Coffee traders, the food here is fantastic quality for the price and I am always full I think they should get alot more trade in the early hours as well as go there for a light lunch too they serve fresh coffee and bites what more can you ask for

Great food. Enjoyed ourselves immensely. Bonus: woman running the restaurant the night we were in was incredibly hot! Worth it for her alone!

We have visited St Ives for over 15 years - we stumbled on this bistro.... what a find!! Its like Lucy finding Narnia...Fantastic, honest, fresh, gorgeous food....lovely staff...divine wine...The meal was a symphony of tastes & the chef is a conductor....It was truly exceptional. Go along, try it. Kids are welcome. We don? have any but didn? care. If you love food, love wine, love your partner & want a good evening then this is where you should be....
