Annapurna – LiskeardWhen many other quality restaurants in St Ives have established themselves and are now letting their standards slip, The Cornish Deli reminds us how it should be done. The quality of food is excellent and the wine is fantastic. The staff are experienced and efficient. There is an enthusaism for food -and customers- that is undeniable. I can't praise it highly enough either for lunch or a sensibly priced dinner of great quality.
Cornish Deli – St IvesUnder new ownership, this beautiful restaurant has excelled itself. With the Lunchtime Menu offering a choice of two or three courses for a set price, this represents good value and flexibility. (A la Carte is also available) Starting with a selection of delicious home-made breads I enjoyed a light lunch of Ceasar Salad followed by an old favourite of mine, Eton Mess which was simply divine. The salad had a good balance of ingredients and the pine nuts were roasted to perfection! My friends ordered a Thai Curry and Pepper Fritatta, both of which were excellent in taste and presentation. To finish their meal they chose homemade Ice Cream in a Brandy Snap basket and Cornish Brie which came with good quality grapes and assorted crackers. To complement our meal we drank an excellent Tindall Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, though we were spoilt for choice with the innovative Wine List. Coupled with delightful staff and attentive service Trewithen is certainly a good place for a meal at any time of the year.
Trewithen Restaurant – LostwithielI went on a girl's night out and had a fabulous time. The staff were really brilliant, attentive, knowledgeable about the food and friendly. Every single thing was delicious from the home made bread, steak, veggie and fish mains to the 'to die for' puddings. I can't wait to go again - what a great restaurant.
The Edge – Port IsaacOne of the best meals I have ever eaten. The portions look small but I had to be rolled out of the place! The scallop and black pudding starter needs to be a permanent fixture on the menu and the taste of 6 pudding - a shared 'buffet' of puddings for 2 - is mouth watering. Molly the hostess creates and wonderful ambiance and the service is second to none. the room was full of happy eaters just oohing and aghing over the immaculately presented food. However the restaurant has escaped becoming a pretentious hang out! Can't wait to go back!
Paul Ainsworth at No 6 – PadstowThe kingfisher is an excellent place to have a bite to eat. Whether your having a cream tea or traditional fish and chips its always lovely. You can even get the lunch time special before 3pm of fish, chips, bread and butter and a cup of tea or coffee for about £3.00. We always have to visit the kingfisher when in st ives.
Kingfisher – St Ivesby far the best restaurant in Newquay, absolutely loved it! The food and atmosphere are spot on, felt like i was actually in Mexico!
Senor Dicks – NewquayAs a big fan of Indians, I have tried them all in and around Truro and can say that for a consistently high standard, interesting varied menu this is the tops in my eyes- recommend it - very stylish ambience- not the flock red wallpaper of so many and the staff are excellent and very conspicuous in their service- recommended
Shanaz – Truroif you were looking to dine in a place with a medieval theme redruth meadery would be the place to go. made to look like an old medieval castle the place is lit by candlelight and you will dine in a thoroughly relaxing atmosphere and be served by barefoot wenches. being a medieval setting you eat with your fingers from a wooden platter just like our forefathers. a great place for the whole family to eat in a relaxing atmosphere.
Redruth Meadery – RedruthWe have eaten at the Cobweb many times and will certainly eat there again basic good food at a realistic price. We shall be there at Christmas 06 to enjoy the food.J.SHOTTEN
Cobweb Inn – BoscastleWe have eaten at the Cantina in Newquay on several occasions and cannot fault the food and price. The staff have always been friendly and courteous, we would recommend it to anyone who likes to try something different.
Mexican Cantina – NewquayWe have lived in Cornwall for over 6 years now and eat out often in St Ives and the surrounding area. We don't go to St Ives in August but we had some friends down and decided to treat them to a meal at onshore as we had heard some good things about this place recently. We booked last minute and could only get a table outside but what a treat they had the heat lamps on and we saw seals in the harbour our friends were delighted. The food and service was excellent, Steve had the fillet steak which he reckons is the best meal he has ever had. I had the seafood risotto and our friends chose from the fish specials board and had the cod and the sole which again were delicious. I'd also recommend the desserts especially the chocolate and orange torte which looked and tasted amazing. A young lady called Ellen served us and made our evening really. She was attentive and efficient even though the restaurant was absolutely packed. We got chatting to the guys sat next to us and they also had a fantastic meal and said it was better than the seafood restaurant they had visited the night before. I'd recommend this place for everybody, there were families, couples and big parties all dining together and having a great time!
Onshore Restaurant – St IvesOur restaurant of choice in Falmouth. Beautiful food, cooked fresh to order, with the kitchen on full view. You really cannot beat them for quality food and friendly atmosphere. We have eaten there on more occasions than I can recall over the years and have never had a bad experience. The waiting staff are mainly Italian so an authentic air is prevalent. Do not be afraid to give Da Vinci a try. Bookings are always advisable, as they are usually busy even in off season.
Da Vinci – FalmouthLocal produce, great atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food = The Cornish Deli. I highly recommend if you visit St. Ives you eat here at least once - the smoked salmon and brie is particularly good!!
Cornish Deli – St IvesHave eaten in Chantek about 5 times in 2006 and have never been disappointed. I am vegetarian and virtually all dishes have a V option which is wonderful with so many choices. You can certainly take a tour of Asia through the menu and I have now sampled various dishes away from red and green curries. I have particularly enjoyed sweeter dishes such as Massaman and Penang curries or a contrasting taste in the spicy Pacific Jungle Curry. The Papaya salad is recommended too. The food is certainly authentic and if you opt to sit near the kitchen you can watch the Thai chefs at work. The staff are great too and knowledgeable about the menu. The rice portions served with main dishes are a little on the small side but then you have room to sample the desserts! My wife is Thai and she loves the food..a home from home!
Chantek Thai and South East Asian Restaurant – TruroRecommended by a friend and Boy what a find. Fab menu with plenty of local produce and fresh fish, ate here three times in the week we were in the area and will definitely return. Wonderful food, great service, can't wait to return:)
Maltsters Arms – WadebridgeMy wife and I eat out whenever we can and have taken to visiting the BABA as a first option. The food and staff are above average and you are always made to feel a special customer. The owner maintains a very high standard at both restaurants. My only complaint is the menu. It's so big and under the soft lights the glossy finish makes it impossible to read. The food will certainly compensate for this little frustration.
Baba Indian Restaurant – TruroGreat place in a stunning location. Service is informal and friendly. We took our 3 kids out to dinner which can always be an effort and were made to feel more than welcome
St Mawes Hotel, Cafe Bar With Lounge and Rooms – Truro
