Phenomenal menu selection - set aside at least 10-15mins just to read it! The vegetarian selection is excellent, imaginative and very well prepared. Portions are enormous, and if you manage to squeeze in a dessert you'll find an extensive selection of those too, and they're all fabulous. Popular every day so book early. Very well priced - and their Sunday Carvery is brilliant too (although there's no booking so get there early!)

I think this is a well kept secret. Don't expect frills and fancies. Chris (proprietor) does fantastic steaks. Matured and prepared to order. Ask for a kebab, you will be surprised (gastronomically)

Headlam Hall Hotel – DarlingtonWe have eaten here on two separate occasions, booking is definiately recommended as it is a very popular local venue. On both occasions the food was to a very high standard and we thorough enjoyed ourselves. Try the Lamb Henry it is superb.
