Booked for Sunday lunch as we were staying close by in the village. It was very busy, which is great for a village pub. After a short wait we were shown to our table. The server apologised for the wait to take our order but to be fair we had only waited 5 or so minutes so no issue at all. Once we ordered the meal was served in about 10 mins. Well worth the wait. Great Sunday roast very good servers. A genuine welcoming pub in the Dales.
The Old Gate Inn – MatlockWe are staying in a nearby village on holiday and had read excellent reviews, so thought we would book. We, and our dog, were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived and we had a lovely meal. The food was delicious (the homemade pie and gravy were absolutely amazing), the service was friendly and efficient and the place was very warm , cosy and welcoming. We are hoping to fit in another visit before we have to go home!
