The Old Gate Inn – MatlockWhat a delightful pub - so much character. I was here with two friends for an evening meal after a long walk. The menu was extensive and the home made food very tasty. I had the soup followed by quiche , while my friends both had the mushroom bruschetta , then one had the burger and the other the chicken schnitzel. The portions were generous and we can all highly recommend this as a great place to eat . Very friendly staff, great service , good prices .

We were staying locally on a family holiday and popped in for a drink one evening and the garden was so beautiful and the staff so friendly that we booked a table to eat the next day. The food was spot on. I'm coeliac and I am so often disappointed with the options available, but the gluten free fish and chips was pretty much the nicest I have ever had in a pub. I wish this was my local!!! They were also super dog friendly which is always appreciated.
