We have been a few times now after being very impressed on our first visit. We're not local but really enjoy the area so take day trips and overnighters. A beautiful proper pub in a lovely setting. The service and staff have always been top notch, as has the food, we've enjoyed everything we've had thoroughly so far. We plan to keep returning.

Booked last minute for Sunday lunch with the family and got to say it's one of the best pub Sunday lunches we've had. Staff were cracking with my two young sons, and the food was exceptional. Will definitely visit again next time we come to Brassington

We had the best meal here on Saturday evening! We were recommended it by our accommodation (Hoe Grange farm - highly recommend!) and it was just perfect. Lovely cosy pub setting with beer garden, and such yummy food! Pie of the day (lamb) was brilliant. Will be back one day :-) lovely friendly staff too and quick service.

We had a wonderful Roast Beef dinner with all the trimmings on Sunday - it was absolutely delicious. The staff were so friendly and made a fuss of our GSP too. It is a very old and traditional pub and I would highly recommend a visit.

Excellent evening at the Gate Inn Great food and service from Paul and the rest of the staff It’s a great pub we have been going there for over 25 years The new staff who have taken it over has brought it to a another level The menu is varied lots of options the vegetarian and gluten free meals were very tasty

We were staying in the village and had 2 evening meals here. Both were tasty and well cooked. The pub has a lovely cosy atmosphere and the service from friendly staff was excellent. Would definitely visit again, thank you!

Went on Tuesday with friends, had a nice selection on the £10 meals. Very tasty tandoori chicken.

Part way (the pretty way) stop for lunch after collecting a car from Derby to deliver to Marple. Not the first and hopefully not the last visit to “The Gate”. Superb friendly welcome (after arriving an hour before the lunch booking time - not a problem.) Food here is just so good, several steps up from the average pub “ping” food often encountered elsewhere. It is very tempting to fix a stay in Brassington for a few days working through The Gate menu whilst enjoying the magnificent countryside on offer in the area.

Stopped here for lunch on monday having just completed a blustery walk on and around the High Peak Trail. Fire was alight which was very heartening after the wind and odd rain shower. Hosts were extremely welcoming, nothing too much trouble. Food was superb, great local ale, a nice time was had by all - thank you!

Stayed in an Airbnb pretty much next door so this was super handy. Saturday evening meal was fabulous and we returned for Sunday lunch. The roast (I had nut roast, hubby the gammon) was superb. Great value, great vibe and lovely friendly staff. Fantastic all round.

Had a great Sunday lunch there yesterday 22nd March with a good atmosphere and great drinks/beers.

Superb Sunday Lunch, great choice, huge portion, lovely home cooked food. A must to visit if you are staying in the area. Really friendly staff.
