We visited jem and I for Sunday lunch. On arrival, the waitress literally threw us to our table, which incidentally was so close to another table, it felt like we were one big happy family. The food itself was fantastic and great value for money. The service remained the same throughout the meal; the waiting staff seemed disinterested and in no hurry to make us feel welcome. In fact, we were made to feel like we were putting the waitress out of her way by ordering drinks! Tables were crammed which was disappointing. However, the food itself was outstanding and for the price (£14) we cannot grumble. In summary, wonderful food, shame the staff don? share the same ethos.

Food was really good but service was a bit lacking in attention. This seems to be a general theme through the years with Jem and I.

I am not a huge Indian food fan, but this place was so good. A wide range of dishes I?e never heard of before, all absolutely gorgeous and each one very different (unlike so many curries that seem to consist of the same brown curry sauce base). The best poppadoms I have ever eaten, great service, nice atmosphere, very friendly and attentive staff. And under £100 for 7 people! Really impressed, and I am a regular eater-outer.

Fantastic!! As a local, I've been several times and each time I'm really impressed by the quality of the food! the Mushroom Strudel is superb, I've been back three times just for that!

Amazing melting chocolate pudding made even more divine by the sexy waiter!

Azzurro

Excellent food and service. My only minor gripe would be that, like many of the Burton Road establishments, the restaurant is a bit draughty as the door opens directly into the dining area.

The Didsbury pub is a truly cosy "country" pub but in the middle of Didsbury. Real log fires in Winter complete the romantic feel. Ideal place for a first date. Absolutely outstanding choice of real beers, or so my boyfriend tells me, and all kept beautifully!

A great little place hidden behind the blinds. Food is excellent from the shot menu, especially for the price, and although it's unfortunately no longer byo, the wine list is reasonably priced. A great little place that stands out from the crowd.

I own a restaurant and love going to this one as the food is great and the staff are fantastic. Being a restaurateur makes you more critical but I have no complaints and it? always a real treat to eat here. Its well worth a visit!

My partner and I were really looking forward to eating at Green's. We love eating at good gourmet vegetarian restaurants and have chef Simon Rimmer's book, The Accidental Vegetarian, which is brilliant for high-quality everyday veggie cooking. Our first impressions, to be honest, were not great. First, you walk in and sit down to a backdrop of pumping music that would be more appropriate for a pub or bar than a gourmet restaurant. It didn't make for the most relaxing meal. Second, our first offering was the complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic options. Mistake! The bread was way too full on to accompany an olive oil and frankly the olive oil was totally flavourless. Tasted like one of those olive oil light cooking oils that you get from the supermarket. Bit more research needed on both bread and oil Simon! However, thankfully, the rest of the food was FANTASTIC. Simple, straightforward menu excellently prepared with fresh ingredients, cooked beautifully and with care. Loved the Roquefort cheesecake and both the butternut squash gnocchi and roulade. Creme Brulee, aside from being a tiny bit too burnt, was creme at its best (and I've made creme brulees a mission in life) and the vanilla cheesecake creamy and sumptuous. Clearly these guys are an authority on cheesecakes of all kinds. A word about wine selection. They should do a sparkling wine by the glass, which they don't, and the range could be more extensive. But all round a really yummy veggie meal. Not up there with Denis Cotter at Cafe Paradiso in Cork or Terre a Terre in Brighton, but great nonetheless.

As restaurants go this was something a bit special. Great food, superb service and Ambience that made me not want to leave. The laughing Buddha has rekindled my love for Chinese cooking

Easily in my top 3 restaurants in Manchester. The food is outstanding. My friends are starting to lose patience with my constant requests to go here. I really am lost for words to describe the food here. I?e been at least ten times in the last four months. Don? even think about it, just go and see for yourself.

Sangam 2

After leaving the UK some 18 years ago to live in Southern Spain, never returning home during this time, I really missed good old fashioned Indian food. On arrival at Manchester I was recommended by family to try the Sangam - a recommendation worth every mouthful - I returned to Spain with my taste buds revived....Thank you Sangam 2.
