Lovely atmosphere! It was lovely to feed the cats some treats! My daughter and niece really enjoyed playing with the cats! They worked out what toys they preferred on the day and had a lovely interaction with them! Was a lovely experience. Great staff, nothing was too much and always checked if we needed anything! Great value for money!

Loved it the cats were great and so too were the staff and food. It’s a shame though some parents can’t stop their kids from running around and making too much noise but overall the experience was lovely.

I booked Tabby Terrace for my little girls birthday lunch with her friends. The staff were so accommodating especially with so many requests from the children. We also have allergy concerns with the food and the kitchen/chef was so accommodating, considerate and really careful with our specific needs. We were really impressed. Thank you!

This was our first visit and overall, we really enjoyed the experience. The venue is beautifully presented and tastefully decorated, with lovely furnishings that created a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. The cats were beautiful and clearly well cared for, though they weren’t as interactive as I’d expected based on what I’d heard from others. Most seemed to prefer being observed from a distance or left alone. That said, I completely understand — with so many people coming and going throughout the day, it’s likely a bit overwhelming for them at times. One cat was especially adventurous, and from personal experience, I know that some cats simply prefer more freedom. Still, it’s clear the cats have everything they need: access to food, water, clean litter trays, and a comfortable environment. They also wear AirTags and flea collars, which shows a high level of care. Cleanliness was very good — tables were regularly cleaned and there were no unpleasant smells. The only small issue was the floor, which could benefit from being brushed more often. Many visitors naturally want to sit or lie on the floor to be near the cats, so a quick sweep every so often might improve comfort. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and engaging — no complaints there at all. They added to the positive experience. In terms of pricing, I thought it was reasonable: £15 for one hot drink, one cold drink, one cake, and two entry fees. As a treat, it felt worth it. While I wouldn’t visit regularly, I do feel the £4 entry fee is fair. Caring for cats — including heating the venue, food, healthcare, and general upkeep — clearly adds up, and drink sales alone wouldn’t cover those costs. A small suggestion might be to introduce incentives like a “family of four for £10” entry fee, which could encourage more visits. The choice of cakes was a little limited, though there was something to choose from, and the menu itself looked like it offered a variety of food options. All in all, a lovely and relaxing visit. Next time, we might try coming in the morning when the cats are possibly more active. Of course, it’s hard not to compare them to our own extremely sociable cat who loves attention and cuddles from anyone and everyone!

Cats were cute, lovely to see them wandering around freely with lots of areas and toys. Food & drink was nice, the girls serving were pleasant, gave us all the info we needed to be there, safely and using sanitiser etc.

Lovely place I took some nice pics of cats, the £4 each entrance fee a bit steep especially when buying drinks and food could be less as it's a shock when you get your bill

Needed a cat fix whilst on holiday. Only been to one cat cafe before which was smaller but had at least twice the number of cats. Was quite busy when we went and lots of kids following the cats around. Food was basic but nice, friendly staff. Just disappointed with lack of cats, with £4 entrance fee and spent over £60.

We had a great time. A super little cat cafe. Well run by friendly staff , all of whom kept smiling even though they were very busy. Our grandchildren can't wait to visit again.

Staff were lovely and very knowledgeable about the cats. The only downside was that they seemed a little understaffed (only two members - one in the kitchen and one front of house) which did lead to small children unsupervised when trying to play with the cats. We noted that, in spite of notices saying leave the cats to rest when upstairs, children did pursue them and were not stopped. The cats did seem rather on edge and visibly relaxed when the party including small children left. One of our party also ended up having a cat toy violently swung into her hot drink by an unsupervised child!

Lovely place, the staff were friendly and very attentive. The cats were incredibly patient, I have a very boisterous toddler who loves getting right in everything’s personal space.. including cats! Both the cats and staff were lovely and patient. Food was nice, I can only comment on the cake and coffee which was lovely but food looked nice from what I could see. The atmosphere was cosy and laid back, lots of cat based decor as you would expect from this kind of venue. In all great place, great team and a terrific way to spend a couple of hours. Thanks all!

We had such a lovely time at Tabby Terrace Cat Cafe! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience feel warm and relaxed. The cats were absolutely adorable - each one has their own little personality that added to the charm. The coffee and cake were not only delicious but also really well priced, making it the perfect spot to unwind. Can’t wait to go back!

Took my 9 year old cat-loving granddaughter to Tabby Terrace as a treat. She loved interacting with all the cats. Some were hesitant at first but she just sat on the floor nearby and they allowed themselves to be stroked and fussed over. Later she was given a small cup of treats by the ladies in the cafe so she could feed the cats. As it was a hot day we just had drinks and a small cake between us so can’t comment on the food. The staff were very attentive and didn’t mind me asking questions about the cats. A very positive experience and I will be going back with my granddaughter soon.

Sadly, we won’t be planning to go back. My daughter and I were disappointed with our visit and me more so as it was my daughter’s 16th birthday and this was meant to be a treat for her birthday. It was just the 2 of us. There was a couple and a little one leaving as we arrived and we were the only ones there, right from the off we thought it was abit of an odd quiet vibe, like walking into a library. There was some music in the background so wasn’t completely silent but the cats weren’t interacting with us at all, we both tried to play with them when they were awake and they didn’t want to know. Very dead atmosphere. Food was ok, not much on the menu to choose from, pretty average. The 2 lady’s who worked there weren’t very chatty and were abit quiet. My daughter was asked to move from an area in the window where she was trying to be with the cats as an older couple came in and the lady who worked there wanted to seat them there. This annoyed me and made my daughter feel abit pushed away from the cats. They could have been seated anywhere as there were plenty of tables being it just us in there, but no my daughter was asked to move and the older couple were told it’s fine they have a table of their own. So what, we were meant to just stay at our table and not move around the cafe? The older lady ended up moving after 5 minutes anyway as she wasn’t comfortable. The cats were interested when our food arrived but otherwise didn’t want to know. We left as we felt it was so uninviting and boring. It was a hot day but fans were on and the cats had cool mats to lay on so it wasn’t down to the weather it was not hot in the cafe. Our cats were playing at home in the morning and in the afternoon when we got home despite the heat so I wouldn’t say it was because they were hot that they weren’t really with it. We hoped we’d have a cat on our lap and a cat to play with while we had our lunch but that wasn’t the case.

I had my first visit to Tabby Terrace today. It's a beautiful establishment with 4 delightful kitties. I had a cold drink due to the heatwave and the chocolate orange tiffin was really good. I was thrilled when a staff member invited me to feed the cats a treat. I've visited a different cat cafe before so it was really great to see a different take on it. The staff were friendly and the cats were adorable. I would definitely visit again if I am in Dorchester.
