Regular breakfast visitors now . Good food and great service

Went for a meal on Saturday 11th May 2024. Staff as always were friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately the food was quite below par for our visit this time. The Balmoral chicken tasted nice but chicken was overcooked and very dry. Haggis bon bon starter was only lukewarm and sauce was congealed. My son's kids meal chips had been left in the fryer too long and were dark brown. Chicken Jalfrezi was overly tomato based, chicken was dry and there was a layer of oil on the sauce. We usually always enjoy the food when visiting, so hoping it was perhaps just an off day. Not sure if would return for food, but venue itself is lovely for a drink and the staff are always wonderful.

In for breakfast again and always food is great and service even better.

Really disappointed in the duck. The second piece was undercooked and more raw that rare. Although other were asked how meal was unfortunately I wasn’t.

Went for dinner, food was lovely, staff could not be nicer - even suggested after our dinner to go sit in the heated outside room which has blankets too. We were there when a wedding was taking place and thought maybe this was a mistake booking it but nope was never bothered by the wedding the service was as I said very good. Will definitely be back.

Food good value however would be nice to have a special on the 2 course menu as I'm a regular diner

Went for meal on Saturday 6th April with a friend. We only had a main meal and both ordered the fish and chips. Was absolutely delicious. The fish was so fresh and tasty and the batter melted in your mouth. Chips were skinny fries and very nice. The mushy peas were freshly made and perfect. Would recommend this dish and will definitely have this again. The service was friendly and very helpful. Cannot fault the Ravelston restaurant.

We were warmly greeted. The restaurant was lovely . We ordered our meals and enjoyed . We went on to order 4 desserts and 3 came out I asked for a scoop of ice cream with mine. My sister in law was still waiting on her cheese board We waited and waited my sister and brother had finished theirs and we were still waiting. In the end I got up and looked for someone. The man in the table next to ours wanted to pay his bill. He was also waiting . I went round and looked in the bar there was no one there either . I came back and waited it came but all too late. My sister in law had to take the cheese home with her. Think they forgot us all. This happened on a previous visit. The food was lovely no complaints about this . Maybe the waiting staff need to be on the ball a bit or maybe someone extra if they are too busy . The girl we had though was very pleasant .

Shocking, booked a table for 3 people for 3pm arrived early and shown to our table, ordered food , 3 roast dinners 2.50pm by 3.45 no food asked the waitress she said there was a 30 minute delay?? But she would speak with kitchen I’m still waiting, needless to say we didn’t receive our meal and left will not be returning.

Easter Sunday lunch, was busy as expected, but service was quick and staff attentive. Good portions of the food which was delicious and well presented.

Dreadful experience, restaurant full of noisy kids and adults not what my wife and I expected at that time of night.

Was here for Sunday lunch from start to finish we were made welcome given drinks order taken food was great not rushed staff attentive but not pushy highly recommended
