We have seen many changes over recent years at the Carriers, but after having a family meal there recently it now appears to have got the right crew running it. We cannot praise the them enough, the whole team could not have made our evening any better, we will be going again soon and wholeheartedly recommend it the food was superb.

Went to stay at carriers Inn. We stayed over night in our campervan. We stayed in the Pitstop in the car park. Good value for money. Very welcoming and helpful Nice food and great for dog. Defo will be back. X

Our first visit for a number of years and it was very enjoyable. Very good food with an excellent choice on the menu. We were greeted and served by friendly and efficient staff. Restaurant was quiet but it was a damp Thursday night. We used to visit this pub regularly a number of years ago but it lost its way due to numerous changes of owners. Very glad to see it back on form and I will certainly be back soon.

Easy online booking. Very enjoyable Mothers’ Day meal from their set menu. Good choice and tasty roast with large portions. Good service.

Very helpful and friendly staff excellent food

I visited late afternoon on a Thursday, the staff were welcoming and friendly. They were happy to host 4 adults, a 4 month baby and a large muddy dog. We ennjoyed the setting and the staff were friendly. I'd like to go back in the summer months as the beer garden looked fab. One of the adults needs to avoid dairy and soya which can be very challenging and unclear in many pub locations - not here. We were presented with a binder full of laminated pages detailing the allergy information for every item on the menu. Easy peasy.... I wish more places did this. Thank you. Oh and the food was deliciious!

The Helter Skelter is a great place to eat and drink. The food is always fabulous. We both enjoy a pint and as there is always a great selection of perfectly kept brews we are never disappointed. The whole team are taking the current guidelines very seriously so we always feel as safe as we can in these strange times

First visit to any restaurant since coming out of being shielded due to corona virus. The owners have made sure it is as safe as is possible for people to visit. I was really impressed with what they had done. Food as always was excellent and very tasty. Service was also very good. I would recommend any one to visit. They will not be disappointed

Friends had recommended we visit and we weren’t disappointed. Excellent food , well presented and nicely served by friendly staff. We had a table for four in the bar area but it was all very well organised with table service for drinkers and diners. We will certainly return.

We went for Sunday lunch to Helter Skelter on 6th September with 2 family members. Given the Coronavirus restrictions we hadn’t expected too much in relation to ambiance and quality, but from the start it was excellent. Entry was covered with all the recommendations for safety, including sanatising systems and plastic covering on the walls as you enter. One way systems in place and shown to the table by staff. Social distancing and excellent cleaning as you leave. Food was excellent, from Sunday roast to Sea Bass. Dessert menu was shorter than usual, but we all had something different and all was so good. Already planning the next visit with friends.

Great food! Felt there was a fantastic selection on the menu and all our meals tasted fresh and tasty. Well cooked & presented. In terms of covid friendly it was excellent. Easy online booking system, social distancing was observed well and toilets were clean with obvious attention to sanitisation so very little needed to be touched. Would recommend! There are very few cafe/bar/pubs in the area that do food well!

As always, excellent food, service and atmosphere. Find very accommodating when requesting changes to dishes for dietary reasons (e.g. no potatoes so extra large portion of vegetables served). Covid precautions good, well spaced tables, plastic screens, table service, sanitisers etc. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

We went out for a meal on Thursday evening for a change and sat in the top corner of the downstairs bar area. I initially thought upstairs would be much nicer when you’re coming out for a 3 course meal with wine etc HOWEVER, I was mistaken. With the guidelines in place and the table service the ambience was perfect. We had a fab evening and this was my first time eating out for an evening meal since before March. The food was amazing and we both felt the same about our meals. I had prawn, chorizo in chilli sauce with crusty bread and he had homemade duck rolls which he really raves about. Then I had sea bass with prawns, chorizo, veg and sweet potato fries, followed by Ice cream for him and chocolate brownie with ice cream for me. We swished it down with a couple of beers (him), a gin (me) and a beautiful bottle of Shiraz. The whole evening was really great. I personally was thrilled that our first venture out together since before March was so lovely and went so well, as I am still very Covid cautious. The whole bar area was set out great with clear partitions between tables and bar. The new arrangements are clearly more tiresome for staff and they deserve a medal for all they are having to do in general and between each table booking. Well done Nick and Karen and thank you for all you are doing to keep us safe but entertained, it is much appreciated. We will certainly come again .... as after all, it is our local and we have missed you, and the beer he would say. xxx

Had a lovely meal. Atmosphere was lovely. Food presented lovely. Always enjoy our meals at the helter skelter
