Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea. Food delicious and plentiful, a roaring log fire, service first-rate, and all in the most stunning setting. What nicer way to spend a cold January afternoon...

The service was very good as was the large glass of champagne we had. I was rather disappointed with the food. The soup was tomato with chilli in it. There were 4 small finger sandwiches and small Yorkshire pudding bites and prawn cocktail and cake. The scones were served warm but were pretty tasteless. Although there was a log fire the room was cold. We were given a box to take home our leftovers. All in all a bit of a disappointment. Sorry Lytham Hall.

We were delighted at the presentation and amount of food scones coming separately as not enough room on the stand.as there is a limit to 20 diners it made you feel special - the ladies serving were a delight too.We will definately return and take in a tour of the hall too.

Although the service is very good , love the atmosphere, the food this time was a bit disappointing. Some of the items wasn't fresh and very dry , it obviously was made hours before we arrived.

Loved it

The sandwiches were so fresh and tasty, the cakes delicious and the scones- warm and just baked! Thank you for a lovely experience. The staff were so nice and attentive. We chatted about the history of the hall too. Nothing was too much trouble, plenty of coffee topped up in our China teacups!

However, because I hadn’t checked where Lillibets was beforehand (completely my fault), we were a few minutes late. When we entered the main door, we saw the sign for Lillibets so passed the queue for the tour as we were obviously hurrying. The woman behind the desk spoke to us like children in the most rude manner in front of everyone - I presume because she thought we were jumping the queue or trying to enter for free? Her shouting was both shocking and embarrassing. Later when my son asked where the toilet was, he was met with the same rude tone. This was not what I would expect from Lytham Hall who otherwise has fantasticly friendly and helpful staff and volunteers. Maybe this lady and her awful manner should volunteer elsewhere on the site where a good standard of customer service skills are not required.
