The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyAbsolutely beautiful meal here this week. Nothing was too much trouble either. Highly recommend
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyWe used to eat here alot pre convid and also during covid for take aways, though we would try again, wasnt welocmed immediatly so thats was intially disappoint, resturan semmed bleak and lacked atmosphere, table wasnt overly clean, no one came over to take a drinks order so we headed to the bar, drinks service was quick, gain it took a while for someone to come over and take our food order and they seemed nice enough perhaps inexperienced... cant fault the food it was the tasiest sunday dinner we had in a while and plentyiful, table took a while to clear and we had to go and pay the bill at the bar, perhaps they should have a more experienced attentive member of staff helping the young ones!
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburySix of us enjoyed a lovely meal last Tuesday. Service was friendly and good, food hot and delicious. We will definitely be back.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyWe didn’t know the pub before booking it as we were travelling from some distance. It didn’t look particularly special from outside but inside it was beautifully decorated and cosy. The food was all amazing 3 cleared plates for both our mains and desserts. Very good value too. Would highly recommend
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyBooking for 5 adults, starters were poor and not served in a very presentable way. Main courses were above average, 2 burger and chips served without no salad carnish. Mix seafood platter was served nicely and was very tasty. Asked for 2 liqueur coffees and they were very poor. They didn’t even look like a liqueur coffee. Retuned one off them due to it being cold and the replacement one was no better. Waitress was very pleasant and did her best. Once tried never forgotten, want be rushing back anytime soon.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping Sodbury5 stars!
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyDelicious food, hot and well presented with good portion size. Staff were brilliant when we were waiting on two guests who had been delayed. Staff were attentive and helpful.

The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyHow disappointing, booked at 1730 and was served the slops of the day..a small spoonful of carrot and turnip, the same with the cabbage and the roast potatoes were dry shrivelled up and barely recognised them as roast spuds, all of this was hidden under the meat, when I complained to the young waitress she was helpful and went to get fresh spuds, but the meal was imitation at its worst Again I complained about the food to the older waitress who tried to tell me that there wasn't anything wrong with it...I asked what was right with it, I feelthey had one portion of vegetables left and split it between two meals, photos of other roasts from there show ample vegetables on the plate. I had eaten there a few weeks earlier and the food was lovely, which made this experience even more disappointing. Trying to tell me that this meal was edible felt like an insult to my intelligence. We of course didn't pay for the meals but there was no apology for the slops they served up.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburySunday lunch: Always consistently good all around, hot plates, service and tasty food. Plenty of space as well as a good atmosphere. Been coming for over a year, will always go again
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyCame for a Sunday roast and it was as always 100/10. Can’t recommend the Codrington enough. Fantastic food, great atmosphere, lots of space so u don’t feel like your sat on top of everyone and the staff are all super lovely and friendly.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyWe have been passing this place for sometime now and last minute on a Tuesday booked online to eat here. We were greeted by two lovely staff members with a smile who served us with drinks and let us choose a table , to our delight it was taco Tuesday and they certainly didn't disappoint. Tasty and packed full with a choice of great filling options. We were made up! we topped it off by sharing a sticky toffee pudding which was the BOMB! Very impressed with the service, drinks on tap and food we will be returning for sure.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyWe recently held my dad’s funeral wake at the Codrington Arms, and from start to finish the service and care we received were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble, and every detail was handled with kindness, professionalism, and thoughtfulness. We ordered the ploughman’s platter for 50 guests, which came beautifully presented alongside homemade cakes. The food was absolutely outstanding – freshly baked sausage rolls, generous platters of cheese, meats, and accompaniments, and cakes that were simply delicious. Everything tasted homemade with real care and quality, which was commented on by so many of our guests. The team’s attention to detail and warm service really made the day easier for us at such a difficult time. They were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring everything ran smoothly and that we were well looked after throughout. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate my dad’s life, and we are so grateful to the Codrington Arms for making the day feel so special. Highly recommended
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyWent for a roast dinner for 2 on the 14th The roast potatoes weren’t the best they were not cooked completely through enough for the size of them, almost tasted store brought not fluffy and crunchy as was hoping for. The cauliflower cheese was, in our opinion, watery as if it’s come out the freezer or they’ve not drained the cauliflower enough when cooked. Unfortunately, the staff were a bit all over the place no waitress seemed to know if our food was ordered or if we had eaten, but they were all lovely and polite. I’ve eaten a few times here in the past but first time for a Sunday roast so was just a bit disappointed.
The Codrington Arms – Chipping SodburyPlenty of parking. Always have a lovely roast dinner at the codrington. I had plenty of beef, crispy roasters and perfectly cooked vegetables. Staff are always pleasant.
