We had an amazing 18 course menu with 11 matching wines. Unbelievable food, thought provoking. The wines were a perfect match. Thanks Sugarvine for recommending and booking L'Enclume.

L’Enclume – CartmelWhat a find, pub steeped in history, great food and speciality Gin menu at the bar. Room was great, Egyptian cotton sheets, very comfy bed & central Cartmel location. Excellent value on the room through Sugarvine deal, would highly recommend and return thanks!
Cavendish Arms – CartmelCartmel is a lovely village. Drive under the archway and then you'll find the Caendish Arms. A lovely Lakeland coaching inn. We were lucky to get a seat near the fireplace. My wife had the seafood platter and I had the fish pie. Excellent presentation of both dishes and they were as good to eat as they looked.
Cavendish Arms – CartmelBurger and chips and a scampi hit the spot on a cold winters night. Good pint of ale to wash it down with. Great fireplace and a very good looking restaurant area. The Crown Inn at High Newton is a superior pub.
The Crown Country Inn – Grange-over-SandsPopped in for lunch on saturday after visting Yew Tree Barn. We were impressed with our meals. A rich sheperds pie and Cullen Skink washed down with a pint of Loweswater. The young lady who served us was friendly and efficient. The only complaint was hand cream instead of soap in the gents which made my hands more greasy than before I went in haha!
The Crown Country Inn – Grange-over-SandsLast night, L'Enclume, gastronomy out of this world - you gotta go there...
L’Enclume – CartmelAnother pub that has had a really good makeover. The interior is a mixture of old and new. Dark woods and Chesterfields. The exterior at the rear must be one of the best beer gardens around. Beside a trickling stream and all on well kept grass with a modern, raised and bedecked platform.
The Royal Oak – CartmelFirst visit last night to Lindale Inn and certainly won't be the last. Great welcome from John and Sue and standard of food was excellent. Fantastic value too and always appreciate being able to feed my kids off the main menu with smaller portions. Good selection of drinks including Moorhouses Blonde Witch - a personal favourite. Considering they only took over 4 days ago John and Sue did a fantastic job and we are looking forward to coming back at Easter.
Lindale Inn – Grange-over-SandsDefinitely the worst cafe experience I've ever had.The place looks okay, and the food was alright when it finally arrived but the customer service from what looked to be the owners was absolutely appalling! After a 40 minute wait for our food ( a simple sandwich and baked potato) I finally went to the counter and asked if there was a problem with our order as people who had arrived after us were actually finishing their food and paying up before we even got ours.We got no apology or explanation, simply a very rude "sit down and wait - do you want your food hot or not!"Do not go to this place if you value customer service. Very disappointing.
Butterfingers – Grange-over-SandsHad another lovely meal at the pheasant once again all was excellent lots to choose from we just keep going back again and again it so nice.
The Pheasant Inn – Grange-over-SandsWhenever I am in the area my first port of call will always be The Pheasant. The food is excellent, the beers first class and the staff and atmosphere are second to none. Jeff Petts
The Pheasant Inn – Grange-over-SandsGreat pub landlord very. Friendly they make you feel very welcome
Lindale Inn – Grange-over-SandsMy family and I have visited the Hare and Hounds at Bowland Bridge on many occasions over the last few years and the present owners who took over late last year have transformed the place. We visited twice over the 2011 Easter break and can thoroughly recommend the food and ales ( the twice cooked chunky chips are to die for). The staff are first class and always take the time to chat to customers. Meals are served all day, so if you are in the area don't miss it
Hare and Hounds – Grange-over-SandsA fabulous pub with all the right 'ingredients' Great real ale, excellent food, warm friendly reception from the locals, and the family run owners. A visit is a must!
The Pheasant Inn – Grange-over-SandsDined at the Pheasant on Saturday then felt compelled to return on Sunday. The main course was delicious followed by a fantastic dessert. My husband had the belly buster burger both times and I had to have the duck twice. The sticky toffee pudding was devine and the blackcurrant crumble and custard was absolutely wonderful. Hope to return to the Lakes later in the year and will definitely visit the Pheasant again.
The Pheasant Inn – Grange-over-SandsStumbled across this place last night. Great looking pub with Olde Worlde charm even though it apparently has just had a refurb. Very friendly staff and the food was good too. Shame it was so quiet, so go and give them some custom!
The Crown Country Inn – Grange-over-SandsI've been meaning to write this review for ages since we visited for my sister's birthday (below). The food was absolutely phenomenal - huge portions, rich flavours and cooked to perfection. The lamb shank blew my mind. I was responsible for arranging the meal and Charlotte was so helpful from the start, providing us with a fantastic menu and answering all my queries. Can't speak highly enough of her. My sister's birthday was really special and a big part of its success was definitely the food and service.Go go go!
The Pheasant Inn – Grange-over-SandsA real find this place. Near a wonderful old house we took for a week. The Derby Arms has a Dickensian feel, with its real fires and period features. The food was excellent too and encouraged us to eat there 3 times during the week.
