We had a table booked for 7.30 on Sunday on arrival we were told that they couldn’t serve Starters just main meals. It was really busy so took a while to take our order and even longer to get our meal. To be fair the food was ok but the mash was cold and the lamb chops small and very fatty. We asked for some Red wine and was told they had no wine glasses so had in half pint glasses. It was a bank holiday weekend so was very busy but it was a shame as we won’t be coming back.

Food was lovely, staff lovely, atmosphere lovely. And bonus the dogs where welcome too. Couldn't fault the pub. Everyone was so friendly and portions were very generous. It was nice to chat with family whilst we were on our holiday. I highly recommend this pub We will be back when we come back to the lakes.

We’ve eaten here three times now. The food is good and the portions large. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The service is quite slow but if you’re not in a rush that’s not a problem. However the language of a very few regulars standing or sitting at the bar is, being unacceptable and loud. On our last visit we were seated near the bar and had our 9 year old grandson with us. The language of two regulars sitting at the bar was dreadful, so we left rather than have desserts and more drinks. I could hear the member of staff who I assumed was the bar manager asking them to shush and maybe move into the other room but they wouldn’t. There were lots of other children in the pub at the time , some of them much younger.

The main part of the food was lovely but 4 of us had mash potato side and the mash was not cooked it was full of uncooked chunks. We booked for 7.30pm and there was only one other table with people eating the rest of the tables said reserved but no one came the whole time we where there. We ordered the two course children's meals and where told when ordering the deserts that the chef had gone home so we could only have ice cream, and this was just 3 scoops of ice cream in a bowl, no sauce offered. Food and drinks had to be ordered at the bar no table service.

We were recommended this place while staying in the area on holiday and it did not disappoint. Lovely atmosphere, big beer garden in the rear, food was fab. Only advice would be don’t eat before you go as their portions are massive! But worth every bite! Thank you!

We had a lovely meal i n the Hope and Anchors restaurant. The team were busy with a large party but suggested we order our food then retire to the garden with a drink, for them to call us when our meal was ready - and this is exactly what they did. The meal was tasty, hot and well presented. The staff were very friendly and efficient and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The service was great. The meal was excellent value for money

Excellent food, generous portion and well cooked. Seemed to be freshly prepared. Staff friendly and welcoming. An obvious must is to prebook, don't try to turn and find a table available especially during holiday times. Only downside is typical of Robinson brewery pubs is the lack of choice when it comes to ales.

Excellent food and service as always! Sunday roast x 2 plus steak and ale pie were perfect. We took our daughter this visit and she wasn’t disappointed. The staff always look after us with a warm welcome so big thankyou to them too.

Couldn't fault anything this place had to offer. Arrived to a warm welcome, service was amazing. Interaction between staff and our children was nice to see which made our kids laugh, all in all a great place to visit.

Booked a table with ease using the online booking system. The pub was clean, nicely decorated, we were seated immediately and had drinks served within 5 minutes. When it came to ordering food we had an issue as the children’s menu differed from the website which we had already looked at before booking. This meant my little boy couldn’t have what he wanted, he chose something else but we were a little annoyed. The food came quickly and was absolutely beautiful! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal which was well presented and cooked to perfection. Very reasonable prices and we would absolutely go again.

The roast dinner was lovely. Needed some background music to create atmosphere.

Wow the food here is gorgeous! This is the nicest place we have been to eat. We ate here twice whilst we were away. The plate sizes are big so much so there was literally no room for desert! And we usually always have dessert. Wish this place was near to where we live. Staff were really friendly too! Would absolutely recommend this place to everyone!

This was our third visit and we haven’t been disappointed yet…..great value for money, Guinness for the husband, and the service is always faultless, welcoming and friendly. We’ve had the Sunday roast, fish & chips and steak & ale pie-all were delicious!

Can’t recommend highly enough! The food was 10/10 and service was equally the same. We were staying in Flookburgh and went here for dinner. Dog friendly also which was fab for our wee pup. Would definitely return if we were in the area again!
