Excellent service and delicious food.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe had not been to Lewis's for 18 months but it is still as excellent as ever. The food is consistently delicious and the service is always great. Amanda is always welcoming and runs a tight ship. For as long we keep coming back to Grasmere we will always come back to Lewis's.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFirst class service and excellent quality food and wine.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFood and service is excellent we’ve eaten there many times and never disappointed
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFirst visit, lovely warm and cosy atmosphere. Food exceptional and the 2 ladies serving were really friendly and their service was excellent. Will definitely return when next staying in Grasmere
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereExcellent
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe had a really friendly welcome and the wines by the glass were exceptionally good. My wife had olives and bread to start an absolutely massive portion! I had the scallops which were absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked with as really amazing depth of flavour in the sauce. From there it went downhill, my wife had the prawns as a main - a small portion served in a couple of lettuce leaves with sweet chilli sauce which did not taste homemade, I had the lamb chops , they had far too much fat on which was not properly rendered and not very tender. The accompanying gereen beans were tough and the turned carrots did not cross the boundary between under cooked and al dente The ‘buttery’ Chateau potatoes ‘was a single pale offering not cooked through and showing no t an inkling of a crisp golden buttery coat. if a menu specified ‘Chateau potatoes’ that is what should be on the plate. The red wine and mint jus was slimy and unpleasant. I commented to the charming waitress that the dish was not how I would have cooked or presented it, so I’m somewhat surprised to be asked for a review ! We did not attempt the deserts,
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereA really lovely place to eat with an intimate and cosy feel. Really friendly staff and most importantly the food was exceptional and the service was quick. Great selection of drinks as well.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereFood was fabulous with generous portions. Excellent sea bass and chicken. Lovely atmosphere.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereHad dinner at Lewis’s while on holiday. Food was delicious, my husband had the Fillet Steak and I had the Seabass. Service was excellent. We will definitely return on our next visit to Grasmere.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereHad a great family meal, celebrating our walk up Scafell Pike. Delicious food, friendly team, fun atmosphere. A fun evening - not inexpensive but would definitely go back
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereExcellent meal and staff cosy surroundings massive portions will recommend.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe ordered the fillet steak and lamb. The food was cooked nice but the whole meal was barely warm apart from the chips. The plates were not warmed either. We returned our food and side of order of vegetables to be warmed but it came back again barely warmed. The side order was forgotten which we had to remind the staff to bring. We ate the food and ordered the cheese board which was lovely. After the food was returned no real apology was made and it felt very awkward. We felt unable to complain a second time. No complaints about the quality of food but it should be served at least piping hot. Also sat by the window was cold especially as people entered and left the building. Also no gestures of good will made to compensate our spoiled anniversary meal. I would not return.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereGreat experience at Lewis’s Bistro. Food was excellent and service was very good too! Would definitely recommend this restaurant S
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereVery nice cosy restaurant and very busy, certainly when we were there. The menu has a set number of starters, mains and desserts and doesn't appear to vary too much. We both enjoyed our meals despite one of us being given the wrong main meal it was only a couple of minutes before it was rectified. We were asked a second time to pay the bill when the bill had already been paid a couple of minutes earlier. That said the staff were very pleasant and engaging and the food was excellent. Whilst they do accept walk ins I would strongly suggest that a table is pre booked.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe had a lovely meal yesterday evening - can especially recommend the fillet steak and cheeseboard. Overall the bill was pricey for us at just under £200 for 4 people including starters and dessert - but the quality and quantity (plenty but not ridiculous) of everything was we feel reflected fairly in the price that we paid. Would not hesitate to go back on our next visit to the area.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereSpent a pleasant evening and had a great meal. Helpful staff and quick service.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereTables too close together, waitress could barely get through to the corner table. Would be nice to be shown to our table instead of being pointed out from behind the bar. Too much gossiping behind the bar. Food ok, needs some seasoning. Would have liked a dessert but because of the above we just didnt enjoy the experience. Our waitress was efficient and professional.
