Amazing food, absolutely outstanding. Fabulous service, if a teeny bit slow but it looked a tiny kitchen and it was, not surprisingly, very busy. A little expensive but it is a tourist hotspot so expected. With that in mind it was value for money. Lovely little restaurant So good we went back the following night. Make sure you book in advance as we saw people turned away all the time we were there!

There was a group of 6 of us for a sat night dinner. The restaurant was busy when we arrived but we had booked and our table was waiting for us. We all had starters except one and all thought their choices were delicious. The main courses were all great, one was forgotten and arrived later than the rest but staff were most apologetic. None of us had desserts. Overall an excellent meal in a lovely atmosphere.

31st May 2023 Had a great 3 courses in LEWIS’S last evening. The atmosphere was very chilled and relaxing while the service was very personable and cheery. The food was excellent - from the black pudding starter to the STP with a locally sourced succulent & perfectly cooked fillet steak right in the middle. Highly recommended as a treat on any stay in Grasmere, booking essential to secure a table and avoid being disappointed........which you will be if you don't visit (IMO)

This was our second visit and was absolute perfection again. It is an expensive night so a real treat however the food is outstanding and the staff are fab so we’ll worth the money. We shared Olive’s and bread, both had the fillet steak and these were cooked perfectly, I had the delicious cheesecake and my husband had the affogato - Highly recommend!

Although the staff were lovely, unfortunately the food was not! And it was very much over priced for what it was. I had the black pudding and mushrooms to start, which actually was really nicely presented, but didn't blow me away and the sauce was very watery. I then had the pork belly for my main which was very dry and cut in a large circle shape making it very filling as usually pork belly isn't that big. The sauce and sides (mash ect) were ok but not worth the £23 I paid for it. The pints of peroni were also extortionate at £7 a pint, which is just ludicrous! With it being dog friendly myself and partner were really pleased we could take our pooch with us, but the inside decor was extremely dated, the front door looked like it needed a repaint to say the least and the windows and sills needed a thorough clean to get rid of cobwebs and dead flies. A shame really as it's in a great spot in Grasmere, but won't be returning any time soon.

Good location if staying in Grasmere. Not particularly welcoming or attentive overall but some senior staff were friendly. Decor felt a bit Ikea and without a theme. Music let the vibe down - strange 'pop hits' playlist featuring Ed Sheeran, Drake, and dance music - overpowering and not right for a restaurant (maybe Wetherspoons on a Saturday night). A few quite minor changes could make this place a much better experience.

I took my wife for a surprise trip to the Lake District and we stayed in Grasmere. Found Lewis's through the hotel where were staying and managed to book a table for two. The bistro was full but atmosphere was very pleasant. The Manager/owner and staff were all very nice and approachable. I had the french onion soup to start, this was vrry nice. For my main I had the tandoori sea bass which sounds unusual to start, but the flavours did not over power the fish. My wife never had a starter but did have the large fillet of sea bass and she said it was very nice. both were served with new potatoes and seasonal veg. The service was very prompt and not over bearing even though you book a particular window of time we did not feel rushed or harried. All in all a very nice evening.
