A great place with excellent food and service. We visit regularly and have not had a bad meal. It has a great atmosphere and feel it is the best food on the Fylde Coast/Wyre area.

Cartford Inn – Great EcclestonWe had lunch here yesterday. Superb food, cooking and service. This is a warm friendly hostelry and comfortable in every department. As for the food. Quite, no, utterly delicious. Suet pudding is a rare dish on menus, but with oxtail inside it was sublime. Real food! I agree that the number of diners on a windy Tuesday spoke well for the popularity of the Inn. A strong recommendation that you visit.
Cartford Inn – Great EcclestonLovely meal here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. For me, one of the most interesting and innovative menus in the area right now. Classy wine list too with very reasonable mark-ups. Very busy on a wild November midweek night and for a place that’s well off the beaten track that says it all.
Cartford Inn – Great EcclestonWithout doubt the finest pub lunch I have had in 42 years!
Farmers Arms – Great EcclestonLove this place. Found it on Sugarvine and have been going ever since! Top food and love walking our dogs nearby. Great that a place of this quality is nearby. Steve W
Cartford Inn – Great EcclestonWent to the Ship a few weeks ago on a saturday, a little more expensive than the rest however food absolutely scrumptious. Wife is a chef and even she complimented the quality of the steak.
Ship at Elswick – Great EcclestonGreat place, fantastic food, good service. The best oxtail steamed pudding I have had.
Cartford Inn – Great EcclestonAnother lovely meal here, this time at the 'mushroom' end of the pub beyond the bar. Love the mismatched wallpaper which really works. Have to say too what an interesting wine list they have with very reasonable mark-ups.
Cartford Inn – Great EcclestonCHARGED EXTRA DUE TO MY ALLERGY Was there for my Partners birthday. Food and presentation was good. VERY SMALL PORTIONS which would not fill a 3 year old. I had corned beef hash I asked for this without the egg as I have an allergy, I was asked would I like a cheese topping instead and was charged £1 extra. We were not asked if everything was ok with the meal as other restaurants do, when I asked if the apple pie contained egg, the reply was surprising "it may or may not". The place was cold no heating on, the staff decided to do some very noisy table removing dragging not lifting chairs while we were having dessert. Our custom was not acknowledged when leaving, drinks expensive. Extremely poor service, very disappointed, will never return. Better service and plenty food at any carvery.
Ship at Elswick – Great EcclestonOur meal was average really. Starters were good but not sure if we didn't choose too well for main. I had red fish in Asian greens & it was average, fish pretty bland & @ £16.95 wish I'd ordered a steak. Mrs had roast beef and was ok but had to ask for horse radish after she'd eaten half of it cos no-one offered when they brought the plate. Nice place & like the fires. Service was ok, nothing more really.
Farmers Arms – Great EcclestonEight of us went for lunch on recommendation from Sugarvine. We had a great meal and were particularly impressed with the way the staff dealt with our young kids. A weight off our mind so we could enjoy the adult company. Perfect for a family gathering.
Farmers Arms – Great EcclestonGreat pub food. Local sourced ingredients and freshly cooked vegetables. Good choice of real ales.
Black Bull Hotel – Great EcclestonWe chose The Farmers Arms from Sugarvine and were very impressed. Thanks for the info keep up the good work.
Farmers Arms – Great EcclestonVisited pub yesterday with my family food and ale was excellent, staff was excellent also very friendly would recommend to any one.
Black Bull Hotel – Great EcclestonThe Black Bull Pub, Great Eccleston, This is an awful pub, very badly run by unpleasant unprofessional people. Over priced and a very poor standard indeed. I would never recommend this place to anyone
Black Bull Hotel – Great EcclestonWe've eaten at The Ship many times and never been disappointed , friendly staff and great food, it is a little more expensive , but worth it. Great atmosphere and decor. Always busy what ever time of day you go would highly recommend it .
Ship at Elswick – Great EcclestonWe had been meaning to go to the Farmers Arms in Great Eccleston for quite a while. Living in Lytham it's a bit of a drive. However after last nights experience it's more than worth it and we are already planning a return trip for their Xmas parties. The refurbishment of this old pub is a perfect mix of modernity with a rural inviting feel. Hip lighting, tweeds, earthy woods. It has a lovely outside space and the interior is spread over a few rooms with different vibes. Importantly it's still a pub too, serving quality real ale!. All our dishes were excellent. The three of us tried the others choices. The ribs were first class and created plenty of food envy. The Szechuan cod was amazing and as you would expect their fish pie was a belter too. The staff are well trained and friendly. This time I was driving so couldn't attack their well thumbed and hand written 'black book' of special wines...next time!
Farmers Arms – Great EcclestonTook my girlfriend for dinner at the Farmers Arms on Friday. Didn’t know this place existed to be honest but saw it on Sugarvine and thought we would give it a try. My partner had the fish pie and thoroughly enjoyed it but I couldn’t resist the steak (a 15 oz rump that I chose personally) and it was beautiful, in fact the second best steak I’ve ever had (the best was cooked on a stone in the Jura in France). Glad we found it and we will definitely return.
