Wonderful atmosphere, cosy and warm with roaring open fires. Real ale, real food - can't be beaten!
Shibden Mill Inn – HalifaxBeen twice recently and can thoroughly recommend the £10 for 3 courses menu. Some items on the menu do have a supplement but even so its excellent value and no scrimping on value. The only complaint would be that due to the low ceilings and lack of soft furnishings it can get a bit noisy. Even still I can't wait to go back.
Design House – HalifaxThe Duke's food is second to none. Service is impeccable and the atmosphere is welcoming & comfortable. Well worth a visit from out of the area for the food alone and worth a visit to have a beer and some banter with James, Maria, Dan, Hazel and the friendly locals. Top draw in every sense of the word. One visit wasn't enough, I've been several times and I'll be back. (like Arnie). Recommended: chilli melt, steaks from local butchers and especially the Xmas menu. Also, don't miss out on Maria's jacket chips. Enjoy.
Duke of York – HalifaxThis pub was recommended to me by a friend. I came with my husband and we had the fish deal on a Friday. Absolutely beautiful! It's the best meal I have ever had out! Excellent price too! Overall, fantastic healthy quality food for an exceptional price. Could not possibly be beaten! Thank you
New Inn – HalifaxGreat pub with fabulous friendly staff. In terms of food the Duke of York punches above it's weight. Sunday lunch is great value as is stake night on Wednesday but for a real treat try Thursday night and Maria's special curry....it's outstanding. Try it and you won't be disappointed
Duke of York – Halifaxi would recommend this place to anyone . its got a lovely atmosphere the staff are fantastic friendly lovely people . and the food is top class love it
3 Olives Meze Bar and Mediterranean Grill – HalifaxWhat a wonderful place to stay and eat. Friendly and efficient staff, superb food, excellent service. Fabulous real ale. Rooms are very nice. If I had one tiny wish, for improvement for me personally, I would love an easy-chair in the bedroom. Saying that it has not stopped us booking again nearer Christmas.
Shibden Mill Inn – Halifaxordered from get stuffed quite a few times, only cos they take card payments. The food isn't fantastic, and twice I've been ripped off - in the case of the latter they delivered our pizza (ordered chicken and sweetcorn, received a small amount of chicken with more mushroom than base - allergic to mushroom) - after an hour and charged £10 for a small. For the next hour we could not contact, them and they refused a refund despite messing up our order.
Get Stuffed – HalifaxOh My God amazing food just to die for!!! The friendly staff are fantastic and are very welcoming, always service with a smile! I continue going to the Duke enjoying every minute of it :)
Duke of York – HalifaxThe welcome is very friendly. The food is excellent and the service is attentive. Prices are reasonable and overall it’s excellent value for money.
Mamma Napoli – HalifaxTwo meals here so far and I intend to make it three very shortly. The food is excellent, the portion sizes good, the ambience and staff very friendly. Beer and wine selection should, I imagine, cater for most tastes. On top of all this, the pricing for the meals I have had were very competitive for this area.
The Old White Beare – Halifaxwe went to la tavas in a group of 6, and we were all disappointed the size of the portions were more for children, and the food was not that good, and it was i was pricey. the place had no atmosphere the manageress was abrupt and very off handed all you heard was her yelling at the poor waitresses. no we won't be going again and will not recommend either
La Tavas – Halifaxgreat beer,excellent food,real fires
Delvers Inn, The – HalifaxJust had Sunday Lunch there. Roast beef thick and moist. Vegetables hot but crisp and Roasties beyond compare. Yes we will be going back.
White Horse Inn – HalifaxVery popular with locals for eating & drinking (Always a good sign). Good food and good ale in an atmosphere that is genuinely welcoming and not too much of a strain on the pocket. If you like to feel that you have been well fed - this is the place. Set in a scenic location in an old mill- village at the head of the Luddenden valley. Perfect for walkers. Worth finding, --Just head for the Windmills!!
Delvers Inn, The – Halifax10/10 - Fantastic food, great value for money & excellent service. The menu has something for everyone on there. Well worth a visit. Very popular!!
The Stump Cross Inn – Halifaxbrilliant place. excellent food (two 4 one deals on Mondays & Thursdays, other specials nights). v friendly staff. drinks prices are a bit more than your local pub but it's worth it for the night out.
Sun Inn – HalifaxWe had a lovely Valentine's meal at the Duke, the food was lovely, reasonably priced and the staff were very attentive and polite. Lovely good old Yorkshire Hospitality. We will be back soon ...
