All 5 plates were amazing the no meat chili was outstanding and the extra side of salt and pepper onion rings was also outstanding and something id never had before but will definitely be having again.
Denmans Restaurant – HalifaxBooked in on a rare child free Friday and having been once before we booked in again We order 5 different dishes between the 2 of us, more than enough to be well fed! We had onion rings, lamb, steak frites, lobster roll and masala cod. All the dishes were flavourful and reasonably priced. The star was the cod and surprisingly the onion rings which, as simple dish were incredibly flavourful and perfectly cooked. My only niggle would be the micro herbs on each dish, my wife doesn’t like coriander at all and it was sprinkled on most dishes( I’m being picky) The drinks were lovely and cocktails well made. All in all, to have somewhere like Denman’s on the doorstep with great prices is a blessing. NB no phone signal or customer WiFi which didn’t help when trying to get an uber! Also weren’t offered a taxi

Denmans Restaurant – HalifaxMy husband and I booked an early table on New Year’s Eve and it certainly did not disappoint. The service was swift and friendly, the gluten free indications were made clear by our waitress and the food was, as always, out of this world. The lobster Thermidor and smoked haddock were our favourites out of the 6 we chose, but we loved every dish. If I was to make one suggestion it would be to label GFA on the menus and have GF bread and desserts available, but these are small things and I was actually far too full to squeeze in a dessert this time. We also love our little cozy dimly lit corner at table 1 - it’s our go-to for a lovely private dining special occasion, tucked away. We always can’t wait to return. Thank you so much.

One minor quibble, the upstairs seating area is like sitting in a storeroom with a very flimsy room divider in place which is not easy on the eye. Whole area needs making more cosy. Otherwise good, food and service both v good.

But they also liked the decor and said it was a lovely atmosphere. The staff were all really friendly and the service was good. And the cocktails went down a treat. A great night was has by all.

You can't go wrong with the mid week special offer, particularly with a couple of half price cocktails! We've never had a bad dish. The duck bon bons are my favourite - absolutely delicious!

We absolutely love dining here, and that is why we will always return and are always happy to recommend it to other friends and family. This is a family run restaurant, great ambience and wonderful food. The style is small plates to share, and 5 or 6 between two people is probably about right. Apart from the delicious tasting food, we love the fact that the menu changes regularly so you never know what might be on the menu that week. But, whatever it is, it will be delicious. The chef Rob is very creative with his menus and really understands flavours and tastes. We are already booked for our next visit!
