Great restaurant, great food, great service, great all round , Really ! ...
Alachi – HullMe and my partner went to the Lambwath for lunch on the 15th of fed 2012. The service at the bar want great, we also to ask for ice in our drinks. We then went through to the dinning area to eat, we had to go round searching for cutlery. When I eventually found some it was dirty. We then got our food which want nice whatsoever,it didn't taste of anything the stuffing was like rubber and the meal itself was cold. As for the staff they where rude, didn't even ask if we had finished our meals, just snatched the plates and walked off.. In fact she didn't even say one word to us. Seemed to have plenty to say to the other waitress. Stood about talking whist they where plenty to be getting on with. The tables had plates left on them, customers where moving plates and glasses onto other tables,so they could be seated. The tables where not even been wiped clean. Then I popped to the loo on the way out,oh what a surprise they where dirty and out of toilet roll. We will never be stepping foot in this place again.
Lambwath – HullAfter reading the reviews on the Internet for The Lantern we visited on a weekend away in Hull and was not disappointed. We both had Fillet Steak and it was fantastic one of the best we have tasted cooked to perfection. A tip when choosing the vegetables is to pick what you both want and share the portions as enough to satisfy you. The deserts were scrummy too. Excellent service and a delight to visit. Well recommended.
The Lantern Restaurant – HullWe have being going to Raj for many years from when they had a lot smaller place,Even though they have got a lot bigger and a lot more busy the service, food staff and price is the best in hull and a lot of other cities in the country we always feel like family every time we go in but i think we just about live their.
Raj Pavilion Indian Restaurant – HullThis shop holds a Fish and Chip Quality Award from the National Federation of Fish Friers. You can be very confident of the quality of food and service in this shop.
Sue Down’s Traditional Fish and Chips – Hullwent here last night, to see a live act. I heard this act was fantastic as i live local, yes they where amazing,we where enjoying the show, they really performed real professionally and looked the biz, the night got ruined though due to a problem with the landlord , i heard that the pub was suffering and could not pay the band, so the landlord tried his best to be a pain.I don't know where he was coming from the Abba tribute was great and everyone seemed to be enjoying it,singing and dancing to their hits, what a shame...they left and packed up after their first set, after hearing they called it a night and left, so did lots of customers, including my friends and i, the landlord replaced this fab group that has being est 9 years i think they said, the landlord said anyone who wants to sing acapella on his microphone will be welcome, what a sorry state it was, everyone's face was a picture and thought what the hell went wrong it was a great night up to the Abba going and replaced by amateur s**t.... what a shame.... i do hope this landlord and landlady see how they reacted cos they certainly showed their selves up and their pub, it is a badly run management ship.I will certainly not go back here and i recommend others don`t too, the management wrecked the atmosphere.
The Wheelhouse – HullWent for a family birthday meal on Sunday. Just called on passing by. Lovely! Busy but good service regardless! Good meal! Good value for money! Another birthday on Wednesday and will be calling again!
The Manor Farm – HullWell we must have been unlucky. ! My husband took me to The Railway for a birthday treat as we have been there before. Last time we went the service was very slow but we thought we would give them a second chance. We were shown to a table which rocked all over and had to ask for beer mats to steady it. Then we waited for ages to make our order, The food as usual was lovely but after the plates for our main course where removed we seem to have been forgotten . More than 20 mins later still no one asked if we wanted a sweet or another drink ( which we did ) and we gave up and went to pay the bill in the bar. The woman behind the bar was on the phone chatting to a friend and to be honest we could have walked out and they wouldn't have noticed. ! Eventually she put the phone down and we remarked on what had happened and we weren't happy so she didn't charge us the £2 extra surcharge each. Wow ! The food is very good at the railway but I dont think we'll bother going back now. No one should have to wait that long in a restaurant. !!
Railway Inn – HullWe were recommended by the Wentworth Hotel to have a meal there, it was fabulous food and fabulous service , the staff and landlady made us more than welcome, we will certainly try to visit again soon.,
Elm Tree Inn – HullA small single bar pub in the hamlet of Ryehill, with stone floors, upholstered bench seats and a small dining area. The pub has a cosy feel about it especially when they light the log fires in the winter months. Monday is men's darts night and Tuesday is the womens and Wednesday is quiz night. For 'Real Ale' lovers it has a selection of five 'Real Ales', Banks Bitter, Jennings Cumberland Ale plus three Guest Ales. [Listed in the CAMRA 'Good Beer Guide 2011]
Crooked Billet – HullCuckoos in Hull, I have lunch at cuckoos twice now and on both occasions it was absolutely lovely, I had a burger yesterday and it was spot on, the staff are always friendly and I will definitely make it a habit to lunch there whenever I'm in Hull. 10/10
Cuckoos Coffee and Bagel Bar – HullI was wary about going to Medici after reading various bad reviews, but thankfully I was pleasantly surprised. A beautiful setting, delicious food and helpful staff made our visit enjoyable. The food was reasonably priced, portion sizes were good and came piping hot as well as being well presented. Definitely a place I will visit again.
Medici Restaurant – HullFantastic surroundings, wonderful food. Mr Koyesh is on hand to recommend dishes & offer a fantastic dining experience. My husband & I are so thrilled to have a quality Indian restaurant in Hull at last. We cannot recommend it enough. Please go & try it, you will want to go again, as once just is not enough!
Cinnamon Quality Indian Restaurant – HullThis is without doubt the best carvery pub in Hull. Fantastic quality, fantastic food. We tried it once after using a chain carvery pub for years. Yvette & Paul have made us so welcome. The staff are great the beer is great the pub is great, the food is great. The wheelhouse was once the place to be in hull and as at last its back in that place.
The Wheelhouse – HullIt is the best Indian restaurant we have eaten in ever!!! The popadoms were fresh, the naan breads devine, the waiting staff really friendly and the prices incredibly reasonable. We would definitely go there again!
Raj Pavilion Indian Restaurant – HullPlease don't go there the food was awful the manger would shout at the staff . They overcharged me by £30 and got two off my orders wrong. The manager was rude !!!!!!!
Medici Restaurant – HullI am so pleased that a good quality Indian restaurant can now be found again in Hull City Centre. Ever since Gainsborough closed down I have been travelling out of town for a good Indian meal, but no more - Cinnamon has everything I could possibly want. My partner and I were, at first, somewhat perplexed at what to choose from the extensive menu but the very helpful waiter (who, it turns out was actually the owner My Koyesh) gave us plenty of time and even suggested we order our starters and continue looking at the menu at our leisure until they arrived. The starters we chose were the Exotica (a typical but well flavoured tandoori mixed grill appetiser) and I decided on the Kolizi (spiced chicken livers). These were a revelation, perfectly cooked, highly spiced but still retaining the flavour of the main ingredient which, seeing as chicken livers are my favourite, was perfection for me. For mains we requested a Phall (not on the menu) and a Tarka Dall (obligingly spiced up for us with extra chillies at our request and consequently probably the best I have had in Hull), Pilau Rice and a Chappati. I still could not make up my mind about the other mains but took Mr Koyesh's recommendations for the Chicken Chilli Bom and Seafood Bhuna after he had discovered my preference for seafood and a spicy House Speciality. The food was wonderful. The Bhuna was packed full of squid, scallops and king prawns and the Chicken Chilli Bom was fragrant and mouthwateringly good with each individual spice recognisable and complementary to the others and the dish as a whole, The entire experience, high quality food; friendly, helpful, warm and yet non-intrusive service; calm, comfortable ambiance and a good price have made this restaurant deserve all the 5 stars I am giving it and I suggest you try it for yourselves. On Monday nights there is an amazing offer on for 9.95 per head for any Starter, Main, Side, Naan and Rice - the choice being from the entire menu rather than the shortened list of "favourites" most other offers provide. Please try this, you won't be disappointed.
Cinnamon Quality Indian Restaurant – HullI would highly recommend anyone to visit The Wilson. The fillet steak and rack of lamb that my wife and I ordered were cooked to perfection and to top it off they have the best selection of ice creams (coconut and rum and rum to name a few!) The staff were so friendly that I felt like I was a special customer. I am looking forward to dining there again, top Marks!
The Wilson Gastro Bar – HullIf you cannot decide what you would like try the Meze - a selection of starters, fish, meat & salad dishes for £34.
Or our Meat Platter for 2 is £26.50 per person.
