I am totally impressed with the quality of the food served at Barinda, the ingredients are fresh and the service is excellent. The surroundings are also very up market and stylish without feeling uncomfortable. It is always great value for money, for anybody who appreciates a gourmet taste this is the place to be, the mid week offers are amazing value for money.during these credit crunch times.

I absolutely love this restaurant. Great food-staff are very friendly.Situated in a lovely place, the decor is very classy! and love the water fountain outside. I always use this restaurant when i have a special occasion. And planning to use it again in the near future.

My twin brother booked this for our 40th birthday meal for us and friends, he has recently relocated up to Hull for business and was told that this was one of the best restaurants in the area. I know we come from London and are used to nice restaurants but I cannot warn you enough of the poor service at this place. It was a Sunday night and not busy but still nobody opens doors for you, you are left to your own devices to go to the 'bar' and you have to ferry your drinks to your table yourself…. When ordering £30 bottles of wine I do expect the staff to know if it is a red or a white and also actually deliver it to the table rather than 3 of them standing around chatting and saying its 'self service'. Shocking! We were then led into the restaurant where 3 pub tables had been pushed together in what felt like the entrance. No tables cloths or linen napkins and not enough bread, no butter and they didn't know what balsamic vinegar was?! My prawn starter was from a freezer, the steaks were done perfectly (the only good thing about this experience) but the puddings were also frozen (with pictures on the menu!) and with canned squirty cream. Completely indifferent, insincere service and a bill for £400 for a party of 9 with only 3 bottles of wine. I will be writing to urge them to get better staff who actually care if you have a good evening and not stood gossiping in a corner because a Hull football player is there!

Been a favourite of ours for years, we come from Cottingham but have brought people from all over the world when they visit. Recommended restaurant, food, service, atmosphere all great. Not to be missed. You cant guarantee a time to be fed, but they guarantee they will feed you. Half of the fun is the wait.

i could not recommend this place to anyone. after waiting 45 mins i asked what had happened to our order to be told that the food was 'literally being plated up now' . 10 mins later no food so i asked to speak to the manager. he was 'too busy' to speak to me! when the food did arrive it was practically inedible! i left the place very disappointed and still hungry! - i even emailed head office but no response

Whenever we are hungry at home and we ask ourselves "what could you just eat?" - the answer without reservation is "a Lantern steak". For 40 years on a regular basis we have ordered the same delicious meal. The chairs may not be the comfiest but the food is yummy and the value excellent. Don't ever retire Andreas - you and your lovely daughter Nicki ARE the Lantern to us and all your other regulars.

Brilliant food. Cant fault it. Don't mistake this place for a cheap kebab house because it certainly is not. I always go for a selection of Meze for starters shared between the group with a nice helping of pita bread. Then follow it up with one of the mixed kebabs to share for the main course. Specials often very nice too but I think i found my favourite above. Reasonably priced aswell, especially with the various offers.

This simply is the best takeaway shop in East Hull! Sometimes you order food from a takeaway shop regularly and sometimes it's nice, other times you don't really enjoy it. The food isn't always that consistent. But with East Hull Pizza's, everytime I've ordered from here it's been absolutely top notch! The food is delivered quickly, they have some brilliant offers on - two ten inch pizzas and two sets of chips for 9 quid - I mean come on, that's a bargain! That's just one of them, but just because it's cheap doesn't mean to say there's any compromise on the quality, because it's always absolutely gorgeous and it always looks the part too. Smells devine and as soon as you open up the boxes it looks soooo good! One other thing that I will say about East Hull Pizza's is the service. It's fantastic. Whenever you ring up to order they are always really friendly and also very helpful if you're not sure what exactly is on the menu. The delivery drivers are always really friendly too. Just give this place a try!Excellent service, fantastic food, proper cheap and quick to deliver. What more could you want?! You will not be disappointed!

Although pretty local to us it's the first time we've been to the restaurant and was definitely impressed. The food, service and atmosphere were all first class and we had a really great night, I'd recommend it to anyone - it may not be the cheapest place to eat but it certainly is up there with the best.

I just love this restaurant! The food is served hot, tasty, just delicious. The service is lovely - the staff are happy to engage in conversation and make sure everything is to your satisfaction. I highly recommend Wokkas to anyone in Hull. Enjoy!

Took the family to celebrate our lad's birthday last Monday. The atmosphere was terrific and the staff were superb despite having a hell of a job on their hands. The food as always was excellent but the price puts the widest smile on my face; a maximum of £40 for a 5 course meal including two rounds of drinks on Mondays with over 60 different dishes to choose from. And that was the bill for all five of us by the way!

Closed at 1.40pm on Tuesday 25th August despite a sign outside saying food and drinks served until 2pm....very disappointed to have made a journey for nothing

My husband and I eat regularly at the Oyster Catcher. The food is always good, although the service unfortunately isn't. The staff are helpful but always under pressure consequently things get forgotten or arrive very late. On our last visit we were presented with the requested pots of tea, tea is only available for on so two pots arrived, one without a lid as it had been lost and the other very stained and with a chipped spout. The server was very apologetic but it is the attention to detail that is important. The decor is wonderful and moves this carvery well in front of local competition (i.e Tobycarvery) and it is good value. The presentation of the teapots devalued the whole experience - dirty, bits missing - do they care? probably but not completely!

I live very close to lambwath pub. I like to go for a very nice carvery and a beer. I also like to go for a nice catch up with friends occasionally. Staff are very pleasant its lovely and clean. I highly recommend for a carvery nice and cheap you get all the vegetables and a choice of meats turkey,beef or gammon you also get stuffing and a traditional yorkshire pudding which are lovely. If you as you may get 2 yorkshires or 2 stuffing or maybe neither. Highly recommended. nice family lunch and very cheap prices hard to beat!

very nice traditional type pub , with real ale and good food well worth a visit

My daughter and son-in-law held their wedding reception here in a marquee in the garden. The food was superb and plentiful with a separate menu catering for the younger guests. The reception morphed into the evening party seamlessly. Nothing was too much bother for the staff who smiled all the way through the celebrations. I would recommend the Ship to anyone who is planning a celebration of any kind.

My boyfriend and I have been a few times and the only 'problem' we had was choosing WHAT to eat! There was so much choice on the menu and we have tried to have something different each time - we have never been disappointed in our choices. The food is delicious. My boyfriend has been to Thailand and he said that eating there almost “took him back” because the food and atmosphere is so authentic. The staff where beautiful uniforms with pretty flowers in their hair and you really do feel as though you are in Thailand. There was one occasion where the staff had got my drink order incorrect, however they were quick to rectify and very apologetic. We both recommend Thai House Restaurant, Hull.

This place is horrible, unclean toilets, food disgusting, worst Indian i have ever had, Not good!
