Ate dinner here 2 nights in a row whilst holidaying nearby. The food was delicious and plentiful (highly recommend the venison and the duck). You don’t come away hungry. The servers are all friendly, helpful and efficient despite it being so busy. We ate in the dog friendly area which was great as we were holidaying with our Labradors. Highly recommend.

I have never posted a review before but felt compelled to do so this time. I had a meal at the Pheasant Inn last Saturday with my wife and cousin. While my meal was ok the other 2 meals were appalling. Two of us had an ok starter but the main course did not arrive until about one and a half hours after we sat down, this being after 2 reminders to waiters and after other customers who arrived after us were served. The meals looked as if they may have been fogotten about and kept warm. The vegetables on my wife's plate were burnt, for which we had a £10 refund, while the steak my cousin had was thin dry and tasteless. We had had 3 other meals in the Lake District last week 2 of which were very good and one excellent. For about £140 including drinks I think the food and service were very poor and I wouldn't eat at the Pheasant Inn again even if it was free. The beer however was very good.

We really enjoyed our time at The Pheasant yesterday. There was a really good atmosphere - it's clearly popular as it was full. The staff were so friendly and made us feel welcome as soon as we walked through the door and service was seamless. The food was really very good and there was a really good choice on the menu. If we return to the area in the future, we would definitely eat there again.

Simply the best pub food in Keswick

My husband and I made a last minute booking here and we were not disappointed. It was very busy bit all the staff were attentive and everything was going smoothly. My husband had the Lamb Henry and I had the Venison Bourginion. The portions were hearty to say the least, no one could grumble at value for money. It was also delicious. We were gluttons and had pudding. My husband went for the cheesecake while I tackled the cheeseboard which would have easily served two. I would definitely go here again if in the lake district.

Very friendly staff, who couldn't do enough. The food was excellent, all piping hot, well presented and very tasty. My wife and her mum had Scampi and I had the sausage swirl, which was chosen as I am a coeliac and on a gluten free diet. We were all asked if we had any dietary needs prior to ordering. We had deserts which were delicious. All in all a great meal to celebrate my wife's birthday.

We had early evening meal on 12/04, team members were efficient and friendly, as a party of two we shared baked Camembert as a starter, it’s a favourite of mine and didn’t disappoint, I had sea bass and husband had steak pie we can recommend both and hope to be back soon.

Lovely pub. Great pie for main course and nice atmosphere. Little disappointed in desserts but would definitely come back.

Nice meal, and friendly staff

Unfortunately not a great visit. We were a party of 3 sat right in the doorway with no room for staff and customers to get through so my chair was bumped every 3 seconds for 2 hours. Ordered chicken and leek pie but no leek in it whatsoever and soggy bottom and rock hard crust. Charged extra for mash when given the option of mash, chips or be potato’s. Such a shame as I took friends and had raved about the place. Very embarrassing as all 3 meals were poor.

Excellent food. Great value for money. I wish we lived closer so we could visit more often. Everything you could want from a Lakeland pub. Authentic through and through. Can’t wait to return

Had the lamb Henry and it was absolutely delicious. The serving staff were also great - helpful, friendly and courteous.

Amazing food and beer selection as always. Black pudding bon bons are a staple favourite for us. The venison bourguignon was absolutely unreal. The barber duck was perfectly cooked also. The apple, gooseberry and treacle crumble was so good, as was the lemon posset. We will return like we always do every time we come to Keswick. Thank you for having us!

We love the pheasant is 1 of our favourite places to eat in Keswick we always book there for Sunday lunch the food is always amazing and the staff are fantastic Can’t wait for next time Cheers Gwyn
