We visited Kats Kitchen on Saturday night it was a lovely experience. The food and the service was fab and Kat even shared one of her recipes with me.

Have been to the Pheasant several times before for meals and always enjoyed it there and recommended it to many people. On this occasion our experience was disappointing. We booked for the reopening night 8th Feb. 2023 and arrived for our allotted time and were shown to our reserved table. This table was probably the worst in the whole pub. Firstly I had to move the table and chairs and a large potted plant to be able to sit down so that should have been a warning but at that stage ok. As the night went on though things became more dire. The table was right next to the staff opening into the bar so as things became busier there was a constant stream of staff mulling behind our table. The cutlery, dishes and other items were all located here so it was constantly noisy. Staff were in and out to collect items, pour drinks, answer the busy phone etc. This completely spoiled the ambience and atmosphere of what should have been an enjoyable night out. Our starters were good but the steak pies we had were spoilt and nothing like what we have had on previous visits. The pies arrived on plates completely drowned in the gravy { jus} so much so, that the pie crust had disintegrated into a soggy mess. The rest of the meal was ok but obviously spoilt by the soggy pie. I know we could have said something at the time but it was reopening night and busy and the staff were doing the best to serve everybody. If we ever return we will make sure that we are not sitting in the small back room at the rear of the bar. As we were leaving and walked into the main area it was a different world. Lovely set out, fires burning, light and airy and plenty of space and atmosphere.

We had dinner on Friday evening. The food was so good we booked again for Sunday lunch. Excellent quality of food and service.

Excellent food. Lots of it plus extra gravy. Proper lakeland pub. Good beers and locals willing to chat. Would definitely go again.

It is so hard to find a proper sunday roast nowadays, especially at chain restaurants. The Pheasant is as close to your mothers sunday dinner as you will find. Fantastic food with local ingredients, great service and a top country pub atmosphere.

We went here for my Mums Birthday. The food was fabulous! We each had a different type of pie (fish, steak, chicken). Great portion sizes and very tasty! The pub was full which made it a great atmosphere. All staff were very welcoming. We will be visiting again definitely!

Nice traditional pub, serving above average food. Good portions, nice selection of veg cooked to perfection. Only thing I would change is to have the sauces or gravy served separately as they were a bit overwhelming at first. Would recommend.

We have dined at The Pheasant many times and every meal has been delicious. It's good food and plenty of it at good prices. The staff are always friendly and attentive. They are also very honest, the last time we were there I had not noticed that two £20 notes were stuck together, they noticed and came over to our table and returned one of them - full marks to them. Our favourite venue for food in Keswick. We will be back next time we are in Keswick.

WE came here to celebrate my Mother's 90th Birthday as she was married and we lived here for several years All my aunties in their 80s still live in cumbria. The staff were very helpful and so kind making this a surprise for Mother. We all felt very welcome and were looked after superbly The food was fabulous, fresh and served piping hot. The staff and management helped with the Birthday cake and we had such a super time We can't thank the Pheasant Inn enough WIshing you all a great year Judith

Lovely welcome from bar and restaurant staff. Great choices of beers and wines. Hearty meals in a traditional country pub environment
