Food good. Service poor. Three overworked servers struggled to cope with the numbers of diners. Long waits at every stage of the meal Pity - as the food was of good standard and well presented.

I recently had Sunday Lunch here and i must say it was very good and the desert was excellent as were the staff

Despite being very busy we were served in a friendly and can do manner. The food was great -2 steaks and a scampi - and the wine and drinks were priced well. All young staff were enthusiastic and helpful. We will definitely eat here again

Nice little English pub. Very tasty food with good options including vegetarian, good portion sizes. Doesn’t cater well for children as food served on extremely hot plate placed on high chair tray, very hazardous. Also food plate was too big for the high chair food tray so was difficult to balance and for the child to eat from.

Booked online a week before, easy to do and you receive a reminder too. Arrived a little earlier than the time we booked, that was no problem to the friendly and efficient staff. Whilst it was busy, it was mainly outside in the beer garden. Our Sunday lunch arrived promptly with the freshly cooked veg a minute later, that was no problem as the food was piping hot. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal, and of course the pints of Cumberland went down well too. Highly recommend to anyone wanting good hearty, tasty food, at a very reasonable price.

A busy place, but despite being over run the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The food was delicious, with a good selection of both food and ale. Hopefully I'm back up that way again so I can revisit.

Fantastic meal had at the Pheasents Inn. The staff were very attentive and looked after us very well. The atmosphere was great and the food was 11/10.

Quality, fresh and delicious home made food. Staff lovely. We are regular visitors and The Pheasant never disappoints.

Booked a meal, turned up early bang on opening time, but we were able to go straight to our table. Within minutes almost every table was occupied. There was a good variety of food on the menu. My wife opted for fish and I had balsamic beef stew. Both dishes were reasonably priced, and very enjoyable. Service was excellent. We would definitely go back again.

The Pheasant is our go to pub to take friends and family for a lovely meal. The service is always warm and welcoming and the food is great, with very generous portions.

Disappointing, I've been going to the pheasant for years and this visit was totally out of character. We initially ordered starters and mains, within a few minutes the mains arrived, I reminded the staff we had ordered starters, which went down like a lead balloon ! We were told that the mains were ready and would spoil if the brought out the starters, eventually the owner came to offer us free deserts or a round of drinks, very disappointing. She refused to prepare new mains to allow us to have the starters and actually admitted that the starters had never been prepared. In the end we had to just forget the starters. The quality of the mains once they arrived was poor with a steak pie which should have steak pieced being 50/50 with mince. All in all a very poor show.

We have enjoyed this pub when visiting the Lakes over the years. We were not disappointed with the food or indeed the service - the young female waitresses all worked hard and efficiently- smiling helpful and running most of the time too! However we felt the tables in the bar area were somewhat close together- not so much from a post covid view but simply because conversations were inhibited due to closeness of fellow diners.

Great food and service as always and met our request for space by the table for a pushchair. Nothing was too much trouble thank you and we will see you again later this year. Highly recommended 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
