When we arrived we were impressed with this traditional looking British pub and were attended to immediately and shown to our seats. Drinks service was prompt and the waitress took our orders timeously. Unfortunately that is where the positives ended as the food was a major let down. My wife had Scampi for a main course, which she said was OK but the garden peas were rock hard, I ordered the Thai fishcake with Wasabi sauce for a starter and the Beef Madras curry with rice. The fishcake and the sauce especially, were tasteless and the beef curry consisted of stringy, chewy beef with no taste and as far from a Madras curry as it could possibly be. Will not be returning and would not recommend.

Great traditional pub, Lovely food, we had steak pie and a rib eye steak, both excellent . Super efficient and friendly staff, it’s a busy place with a good atmosphere , best to book , we really enjoyed it .

We were really looking forward to our meal at the Pheasant Inn having been there several times on our visits to Keswick. Having booked 10 days in advance we expected to be sat at a decent table but instead were put in a back room which I hadn’t seen previously squashed in with a large group of people who were all together spread across 2 tables and talking across to each other loudly with a dog which started begging when I got my food and then was fed by its owner opening its dog meat for all to see. I am well aware it is a dog friendly pub. Our meal out was neither enjoyable or relaxing and unfortunately will not be returning. The food was really good as it has been each time we have been so sorry we will not be going again.

Had a fantastic meal at the Pheasant with friends. Have been coming here for years and the food never disappoints. Good quality food at reasonable prices. Have never managed more than two courses as the portions are so big. The staff are friendly and helpful. Great that you can now book a table online.

Fantastic atmosphere and the food was amazing! Portions are huge! I had the best fish pie I have ever had. We will most definitely return next time we are in the Lakes.

Had a lovely meal with my wife and sister. Food was great, can recommend the beef pie and the vegetable wellington. Pub was really busy so best to book ahead. We used the online booking system which worked perfectly. Would happily eat here again.

We had a great evening at the Pheasant. Food was really good. A varied menu offering plenty of choice. The staff were excellent in the speed of service and in their attention to the customers.

Lovely meal for 4 yesterday - good portion sizing, everything priced in line with what would have been expected and good service. Will be returning.

We had a lovely Sunday roast the beef was delicious as was everything else. The yorkies were huge. Service was quick efficient and friendly.

We have been here a few times when visiting Keswick. Lovely pub, lovely grub. Wife had the Lamb Henry and I had the steak pie. Both delicious. Pudding was lovely too with lashings of custard. Bonus for us is we can take the dog. Would definitely recommend and we will be back again next time we're in Keswick.

Choice, service and food excellent

The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. We had a lovely evening.

My friend and I booked in for a Sunday roast. My dog in tow. We were all made to feel very welcome and the staff were very warm and friendly. The food was lovely. My friend had the roast pork, lots of meat and a huge piece of crackling. I had the beef. Beautifully cooked and plentiful. The roast and boiled potatoes were excellent. The only tiny criticism we would both have is there could’ve been a more vegetables which would’ve made it perfect.

Came here to celebrates my mother's 85th birthday and we were not disappointed. The food was wonderful, tasty and plenty of it. Service was attentive and very accommodating to our additional requests. The lamb was delicious as was the steak.. Definitely recommend

Too cramped inside and the starter was bland and overpriced,I had the Camembert and it certainly wasn’t worth the money charged for it. Staff were friendly but didn’t know much about the menu,for example the young girl didn’t know what the soup of the day was and brought the right starters out but called them the wrong dish so we all had to swap them around between ourselves to get the right food. The inside is dated and needs better seating.On certain chairs you couldn’t even get your legs under the table because of the height of the seats. The main meal which was the pie was really good though.
