Plant by Kat’s Kitchen – KeswickFantastic decor, well laid out, very clean and staff very welcoming. Good choice of food and drinks. Unfortunately when saying 'Goodbye and thanks' on exit, no member of staff acknowledged it.
Pillar House – KeswickHi, Have a lovely tea break at your cafe, and fell in love with your teapots......is it possible you could let me know where I could buy one of these. Many thanks
Lakeside Cafe at Theatre by the Lake – KeswickWe frequent the Lion quite often as locals and always find the food and hospitality really good. My partner arranged a suprise party for me food brilliant, try their breakfasts from 10th mmmm.
The Golden Lion – KeswickVisited this pub and omg what a transformation. Must be the best revamp pub in Keswick. Absolutely beautiful decor and the food is faultless. We as a family completely enjoyed everything about this dog friendly pub. The staff were all very helpful. We will definitely be returning, we recommend this beautiful pub.
Lake Road Inn – KeswickAs a regular visitor to Keswick I'm simply aghast at what they've done to the best and most atmospheric pub in Keswick. A new plastic fake imitation olde worlde pub has been achieved from what was a genuine magnificent traditional olde worlde pub. Well done Spirit that's some achievement.
Dog and Gun – KeswickAfter going up and down trying to find a tea shop the Pillar House attracted me from the outside. Beautifully decorated and very busy which is always a good sign. The food was very nice and all looked fresh and home made. The only down fall unfortunately was the either owner or Manager! He was very stressed which he took out on the staff and very short with the customers. Just because your business is doing well, it's the customers that make you money! Did put me off going back as the staff looked on edge and unhappy.
Pillar House – KeswickI posted the first review. Since then I have eaten here 3 more times. I will not eat here again. Both the service and the food have deteriorated (or the usual chef (travesty of the word) came back from holiday. If tepid, swimming in stale oil and unexciting is your thing then this is for you. One of my offerings was a broccoli and mushroom pasta bake. The bake had 3 slices of mushroom. The broccoli was like green dust sprinkled through a tasteless white sauce (it was meant to be cheesy I think) poured over cheap and nasty pasta shapes. It can't have cost more than 50 pence to make and they were charging £10.99 for this. Pig swill would have been tastier. Tepid fish cake was another faux pas and then more tepid fishcake (not even luke warm) with chips which needed arm bands to survive the north sea oil slick they were served in. None of this food is cheap and it just keeps getting nastier,
The Sun Inn – KeswickMy parents and I ate here 3 weeks ago. The service was spot on, small village welcoming, professional in it's delivery and attentive without being overbearing. The food was well presented and enjoyable. Sea bass with black olive and tomato sauce, new potatoes, seasonal veg and steaks cooked as requested which were tender enough for my older parents to eat. This was washed down by real ale, locally made and sourced. We spent £55 for 3 including drinks and tip. We're going back this weekend. And dogs are very welcome!
The Sun Inn – KeswickWe Visit Pillars every-time we take a trip to Keswick now. Its just beautiful, immaculate and the food is delicious with great service. Although the interior is beautiful I'm dreading the winter when I wont be able to enjoy the lovely balcony area and soak in the outside atmosphere. I'm hoping that it will be open in evening by Oct so we can take our family when we visit for a weekend and introduce them to a very special place......
Pillar House – KeswickScrumptious food...service first rate! We had a takeaway which was ready exactly time ordered....not only will we order again when in Keswick, but the restaurant looked so welcoming, we will also treat our selves to a meal out......soon.
Lakeland Spice – KeswickI bought two cod and chips tonight (Friday) and was very disappointed. The chips were fine but the batter on the fish was awful, it was soggy and tasted of flour just terrible. I have always come to the Windebrowe chippy and usually it's great but I am very sorry to say tonight it was not. I hope you appreciate this feedback.
Winderbrowe Chippy – KeswickWhat a charming host....Graham has a brilliant sense of humour and a very intelligent gentleman. The Tea room is a must on a walk, we thoroughly enjoyed the time spent there on Thursday last, when walking from Brackenrigg. Cake is lovely and the tea was just the ticket.....Really folks, you are missing out if you don't stop for a cuppa and a chat here. You will remember us Graham, I was the lady who had to come back for a second cuppa as I couldn't make the pass due to my fear of heights. The surroundings are great. We will definitely be back, thankyou Graham, a charming gentleman.
Low Bridge End Farm Tea Room – KeswickGreat fish and chips from this venue. Queue out the door for the takeaway which is always a good sign.
The Old Keswickian Restaurant – KeswickSuperb setting,Superb food,Staff Great. Accomadation delightful, good winelist , can't wait to go back, which will be in November this year.
Borrowdale Gates Hotel – KeswickMy wife and I with a famliy friend visited Keswick for a couple of days and were initially guided to Luca's by our holiday site. The first visit was really so excellent with friendly staff and delightful food that we returned the follwing night for a repeat experience, Both were oustanding in the quality of food and service - however more than twice a week would not do my waistline any favours. We look forward to a return next year
Luca’s Ristorante – KeswickBrought my parents here, who were visiting from Canada and we all had a wonderful evening. A delicious meal, well presented with a wonderful combination of flavours and excellent service. Thank you all.
