Lovely food and the big olives are to die for! I recommend the Mashtuk Lamb its fab, Also the Mezes aren? to be missed
The Old Bakery – KingsbridgeMe and my wife recently ate at the church house for the first time. Although it was very quiet, being a Tuesday night in winter probably had something to do with it, there was a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The food, which we later found out was cooked by a very young sous-chef, was outstanding. Mussel and scallop starters both cooked to perfection and on our table very quickly. For mains, salmon and fillet steak, again very well cooked and superbly presented. When paired with a bottle from the very impressive and varied wine list, this proved a lovely meal. The prices may seem a little much but in our opinion we definitely got our money's worth via large portions and good quality food and drink. we will definitely be returning over the Christmas period, if only to show friends and family the type of fantastic restaurant that, to our knowledge, doesn? get the praise it deserves from the local community.
Church House Inn – KingsbridgeGood Food at a price
Oyster Shack The – KingsbridgeExcellent food, friendly family service. The beers are very well kept, too. 10 mile drive from my home, passing several other good pubs, but I shall definitely continue going back.
Church House Inn – KingsbridgeWhat a place! Good food and good setting
Oyster Shack The – KingsbridgeEnjoyable Evening Out
Oyster Shack The – KingsbridgeWe tried Church House Inn Stokenham, on the recommendation of friends. We thought the food excellent, the new french chefs Tarte Flette was the best we had eaten since holidaying in St. Jean de Luz in 2003. No other region we visited in France could produce anything that good, until our visit to this out of the way inn.
Church House Inn – KingsbridgeA new experience not to be missed.
Ashburton Arms – KingsbridgeThe Church House Inn at Stokenham (as opposed to similar named pub in Churchstow) is a great find. There is a French sous-chef and his influence on the menu is clear. Imaginative, innovative dishes - e.g. Tartiflette from the Haute Savoie region of France, a delicious pepper/couscous/goat's cheese main salad - at reasonable prices. A delightful garden looking onto a meadow with sheep and very helpful staff. Long may the French chef remain in place!
Church House Inn – KingsbridgeNice food and great service but I think they need to be a little cheaper.
Mahabharat – KingsbridgeGood value for money, friendly service. Well worth a visit.
Mahabharat – KingsbridgeVisited August 06 twice within 3days. The menu was varied with a specials board containing a very wide choice. This pub has plenty of parking - it wont be a secret for very long with good food...like this. I would recommend the monkfish and the summer pud with clotted cream!
Tradesmans Arms – KingsbridgeProbably consistently the best restaurant in Kingsbridge. Needs to vary it's menu a little.
Mahabharat – KingsbridgeI loved it here lovely scenery all around and a gorgeous meal what more could anyone want?
Buckland-Tout-Saints – KingsbridgeSuperb food in relaxing surroundings. Well behaved dogs are welcome guests.
Sloop Inn – KingsbridgePainted in bold fuchsias, pinks and turquoises and stuffed with kitsch nick nacks, Pig finca cafe is brightly Mediterranean in style but has a reassuring measure of English eccentricity thrown in. With a courtyard and sofa filled lounge its a roomy and immediately endearing place with an interesting menu to match its sunny outlook! A real must to visit when in Kingsbridge.
The Old Bakery – KingsbridgeYet another gem in the area. In the summer you can enjoy alfresco eating which is a real treat and feels like you are on the Mediterranean! Food always good and reasonably priced - an experience not to be missed.
Oyster Shack The – Kingsbridgea really quirky old fashioned cafe housed in a beautiful old building on the ground floor - it has the feel of being in a railway carriage in the 1950's. serving excellent breakfasts and home cooked lunches upstairs houses a really exciting art gallery called 'red propeller' which you should definitely check out too
