Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleWe have visited Lunesdale Arms maybe four times and it never disappoints. The setting is lovely, the menu full, the staff excellent and the food first class. If you want a warm welcome and real value for money dinning then do yourself a favor and book right away.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleCame here for a date night with my partner, food was beautifully presented and tasted phenomenal, we ordered the duck with risotto and pie of the day both were outstanding, Thankyou for hosting a wonderful evening.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleFood was amazing, really enjoyed it. The staff and service brilliant. Did feel like the place misses a bit of atmosphere but will deffo return
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleVisited Saturday evening for the first time. What a lovely Restaurant, super atmosphere, very welcoming with attentive staff. The food was stunning, flavoursome and plentiful. We will certainly be returning! Thank you for a most relaxing evening.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleDelicious food which was well presented by efficient staff. Good value for money. After having a starter and main course no one had room for a dessert.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleThe food at Lunesdale is strange. For some inexplicable reason there's an almost complete absence of sauce or Gravy and the veggies are tiny portions. So after eating my 2 starters with Chips with truffle and Parmesan I was quite disappointed because tiny quantities of intense flavours didn't resolve into a super lunch. The main courses are VERY EXPENSIVE so the appetizers or starters are the way to go. pity that the lunch wasn't properly balanced in flavour or accompaniments.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleEnjoyed our lunch especially the cod goujons and seafood chowder some of main courses a little large with pasta/ rice. though the lunch special mussels not so and also 2 mussels closed also not keen on the skin on fries -service was good.m
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleExcellent meal, professional , attentive service , great ambience . Would thoroughly recommend .
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleMy husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at The Lunesdale Arms. Excellent food, very attentive, friendly staff and a warm, comfortable environment.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleWe enjoyed our meal. My husband had the Spanish hash which he enjoyed. The kitchen very kindly made me a prawn cocktail at my request. But some of prawns tasted particularly fishy & 2 small leaves of lettuce doesn’t make a salad. However, it’s my fault for asking for it when it wasn’t on the menu so no blame. Would though put this dish on the menu? A bit of tomato & more lettuce. Pineapple works really well too. It’s just a suggestion. My fish pie was lovely & the vegetables were yummy My husband had the lamb shank. He enjoyed it immensely. He couldn’t eat it all but it made him a very nice sandwich the day after. The Pinot was good. Would you think of perhaps of selling a Chenin blanch by the glass. Still our favourite place to eat.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleExcellent in every respect. The service was quick, quiet and friendly. The only problem with the menu was making a choice! We shared dipping breads as a starter, and moved on to the lamb hock and herbed plaice as our mains. Both were lovely, especially the beurre blanc that came with the plaice. As another reviewer has said, unfortunately we didn't have room for a dessert, all of which looked delicious. The coffee was good as the drinks list offered plenty of choice. Altogether, a superb lunch just when we needed a pick-up! We will certainly be back.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleFirst time at the Lunesdale Arms, had driven by it earlier in the week… What a fantastic experience. Easy for booking a table for dinner (for2) Great menu and drinks selection, a really well presented restaurant in a lovely setting, really pleasant welcoming staff and the food was simply lovely. Only disappointment was on us! After starter and main each we were simply too full to take advantage of the fantastic looking desserts board…. Have to say it’s one of the best mix grills I have had - everything was perfectly cooked and decent cuts - the Spanish Hash starter was AMAZING (Chorizo, potato’s and black pudding with a delightful egg to top.) The Prawns and dipping bread sides were also ordered as a starter and they didn’t let us down. Chicken Cesar salad was delicious and huge so probably didn’t need the side of fries! Will definitely go again.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleLove the Lunesdale ! The food, atmosphere and service is excellent. Great value.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleReally enjoyed the roast chicken dinner .
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleWe all had a prawn cocktail to start & which was disappointing, as it was just a couple of lettuce leaves, some prawns & loads of Marie Rose dressing on a plate. More effort is needed. The Sunday roasts were tasty. However, we never got asked if we wanted a coffee or dessert. I think there had been a change of staff.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleThe starter course of crumpet with goat’s cheese was simple but well presented and tasty. The main course was ribeye steak with chips and salad. The steak was probably the worst I have ever encountered. Only a third of it was edible - the rest of it was gristle and fat. I would have returned the dish but I didn’t want disrupt my guest’s meal. Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleWent for Sunday lunch with four other people. Very impressed with the service, food, decor & ambience. The only issue was that the draft beer was 'off'...
