It was our first visit to The Lunesdale arms and we arrived early for our booking,We were warmly greeted by a server who name I didn't get( dark hair tied back and glasses)it wasn't a problem being early and she showed us to our table,The restaurant had a lovely ambience to it and it was very nicely furnished with some unusual lighting,Our drinks order was taken and the chardonnay wine was lovely and nicely chilled that I had 2 large glasses our lunch was very good we thoroughly enjoyed it,It was a very enjoyable visit and the ladies loo was the nicest one I had visit in a long long time.I would love to return in the future,You have a lovely establishment and wished I had had a local pub like yours.

We would like to thank the Lunsdale staff for accomodating our family gathering which included 12 adults and 10 children, during a busy Sunday service. All the adults had the 'Sunday roast', which included a choice of beef, lamb, pork and chicken. Everyone said it was one of the best roast dinners they had tasted. Twenty two empty plates went back to the kitchen, that was praise indeed! The staff were helpful and friendly, again thank you!

Lovely attentive staff, delicious food

We availed ourselves of the Steak night offer, and as we had not eaten earlier in the day so we decided to book in at The Lunesdale for a late lunch/early dinner at 5 O'clock. We used the online booking which was simple and fuss free, a great bonus. The meal itself was accompanied by a bottle of superb Prosecco, and the Steak main course was preceded by our favourites of Crispy Squid, with sweet chilli sauce and cauliflower fritters, both of which were delicious. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food, great staff, fabulous decor and the overall experience is first rate. The steaks were accompanied with pepper sauce and a salad just to our liking were very tasty and a generous portion. The service was first rate as always, with attentive staff and together with the fantastic decor, added to the overall ambience to make our evening most pleasurable. and one we most certainly intend to repeat very soon. Thank you so much for providing the high level of consistency, quality of food, friendliness of staff and creating a great dining experience that confirms your position of one of the very best places ( in fact our favourite) in the locality to spend an evening. Good to see the Lunesdale back - as good as before, if not better. The lamb was superb. Everything was excellent!

Usual friendly service, varied menu, trio of deserts was a nice addition. Only criticism was 3 out of 7 mussels in seafood linguine were not open, I have been promised them next time I visit

We were staying for one night locally and decided to go to the Lunesdale Arms for dinner. I had the Seafood Linguine and my wife had the Chicken and Chorizo Tagliatelle, both of which were excellent. Staff were nice and value for money good. My wife commented on the nice ambience and good restaurant layout. Couldn't fault it, would certainly go back.

Had a really lovely evening at The Lunesdale. The food was of a high quality and also good value. I have been to many pubs serving frozen, badly cooked food at similar prices. The staff were all amazing and were particularly generous and kind to the children in our group which was so lovely (and rare) The atmosphere was of a proper pub with a personality run by people who clearly care about what they are doing. We will be back!

Fantastic food highly recommended

I took a friend to the Lunesdale Arms for a birthday lunch as this had been her choice of venue although we both like it. We had a very pleasant meal of oven baked plaice followed by what was advertised as apple and rhubarb crumble. The rhubarb, which is what attracted us to the dessert, appeared to have gone missing so we mentioned this and an adjustment was made to the price. Apart from this, we enjoyed ourselves very much. We were surprised how quiet it was, especially once we asked for the rather loud music to be turned down although, to be honest, it was nice to have the place more or less to ourselves. We very much like the decor and ambience at the Lunesdale Arms. The service was attentive but not intrusive.

Really varied menu. As non meat eaters it was good to have a choice from 4 fish/ vegetarian meals. Friendly service, but not all four dishes were served at the same time, unfortunately the same person for main and desert.

Another successful evening at the Lunesdale! Normal menu supplemented with a Sunday Roast menu. As usual, all food was excellent. It was quite busy but service was very good. Have just booked our next visit
