Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby Lonsdale
Kirkby Lonsdale is a historic market town located on the border between the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales on the River Lune. Famous for it's Devils Bridge - a regular meeting place for motorcyclists and it's Victorian Fair held every September. There are many dining options including pubs, tearooms and hotels.
Our favourite local pub! Always 5* service, lovely atmosphere and amazing food.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleCame for Father’s Day meal, everything was amazing as usual 11/10
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleEnjoyed a lovely Sunday evening meal for Father’s Day. Food and service were excellent- We all enjoyed our meals and desserts. Only negative was that we were seated in the higher section, away from the main dining area and we felt it was a better atmosphere on the main area- we felt a bit out of the way!
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleSuch a lovely family meal. Interesting menu and beautiful food well presented. Great service and comfortable atmosphere.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleHad been to Lunesdale several times under the previous ownership, but this was our first visit since it changed hands. We were not disappointed, my partner had the beef brisket bourgignon, which she said was delicious, and I had the seafood linguine, which was full of flavour. Trio of deserts for herself, vanilla creme brulée for me, plus coffees rounded off an excellent lunch. Standards definitely maintained.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleA lovely Thursday evening meal. First time at the Lunesdale. Very welcoming. Beautiful venue. Acceptable pricing. Friendly service. Took a while for plates to be cleared but just a minor point. Will definitely be back.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleWe enjoyed our meal, but the service time from arriving to receiving our food was not acceptable, we waited an hour
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleWell, what can we say 5*. Having not been for a long while as our last experience was not too good, the new owners have obviously got it back to the good old days. Booked for last Sunday`s lunch. I had the roast lamb and other half had the roast beef. The meal was amazing and the gravy to die for and plenty of it. The staff were all extremely pleasant and attentive. Asked for a dog free area when booking and this was honoured. We can`t wait to return and sample some of the other lovely dishes on the menu. Thank you.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleLovely atmosphere and excellent service. Booked again so more than happy.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleFood excellent Service helpful but slow - and coffee before sweet served not right!
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleThis has become one of our favourite venues. All the staff are really friendly and helpful. The menu is good, for a starter, I never get past the Spanish Hash. Ive tried various main courses, a real treat this visit was the Game Pie. Food is always excellent. It is always pretty busy but tables are not too close together so you dont feel squashed up. The perspex dividing screens, a legacy of Covid, I presume are good. They are non intrusive but do separate you from neighbouring tables, giving a degree of privacy. The ambiance is just right, relaxed with no loud background music. Already looking forward to our next visit in a couple of weeks
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleAs usual fantastic meal, lovely staff and atmosphere
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleSaturday evening was extremely busy, took over 30 mins to take our drink order., waitress was doing her best. Starters some good one had to be sent back, mains okay pasta a little bland, chicken no taste at all.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleWe had a birthday meal on Saturday for 9 of the family for my wife . I contacted The Lunesdale Arms and Tasmin returned my enquiry. She was brilliant really helping to organise everything even down to a lovely huge chocolate birthday cake . The staff were superb all round and it was jolly busy . The food delightful everyone enjoyed each dish . So overall 10 out of 10 for everything well done to you all for making it a very special night.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleExcellent Sunday evening dinner. Staff were helpful and accommodating. Excellent discreet seating arrangement.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleFor years, The Lunesdale, was our favourite go to local restaurant, but following a couple of changes in ownership it unfortunately suffered a decline. Now, under its new ownership they have returned it to what it once enjoyed. Good food, pleasant atmosphere, attentive staff. what more could you wish for. We thoroughly recommend it.
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleExcellent food and ambience
Lunesdale Arms – Kirkby LonsdaleAnother lovely meal. We will miss some of our old favourites from the old menu but it's still our go to place when we want an agreeable meal in a place that feels a little more special than a run of the mill pub.
