Lovely hotel / nice people/ serving us / enjoyed afternoon tea in lovely surroundings

Booked for afternoon tea for my Mum's birthday and it was gorgeous. The venue was lovely and relaxing and the afternoon tea was delicious, just the right amount too. Staff were friendly and helpful and it was a lovely afternoon.

Had afternoon tea here ,there was a lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes also a glass of Prosecco , Annie the waitress couldn’t do enough for us . We then went and sat in the beautiful gardens will definitely return .

Absolutely loved the afternoon tea here. We had an amazing view out into the gardens from our window table, the sandwiches were really good and there was a nice selection. The cakes were to die for especially the homemade scones. Loved all the details that just made the afternoon tea a little more special. The staff couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely be coming back for afternoon tea and after looking around the grounds we love the idea of a wedding venue too

I have been to the Mere Court Hotel several times over the past few years for overnight stays and for afternoon tea. I have always enjoyed the hotel, the atmosphere and the beautiful gardens. Because I have enjoyed the hotel on so many occasions I decided to book afternoon tea for my family to celebrate the 70th birthday of my mum. I cannot praise the hotel enough. The room was absolutely stunning. The hotel had placed us in a separate room and had arranged the table beautifully. We had a beautiful view out to the water fountain and gardens. The afternoon tea was lovely. Four members of my family are vegan and the hotel catered for them providing gorgeous food and vegan champagne. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up staying for about five hours! The young lady that brought the food out was fantastic. She checked on us regularly and made sure that everything went smoothly. All of the family commented on how beautiful the hotel and grounds were. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

Had a lovely afternoon. Sandwiches very fresh and a choice of 4 fillings. Scones were beautifully fresh and warm with some extra finger cakes which we didn’t manage to eat but took home. Staff were extremely helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. Definitely worth the money we paid on groupon

I have had several Afternoon Teas at this establishment and cannot fault the food, atmosphere, surroundings and the staff who are exceedingly helpful and courteous... It's for that reason we continue to return... A Great Afternoon...

Attended yesterday with my friend for an afternoon tea. Great waiter. Good at checking in. Great food. Choice of different tea or coffee. Endless teapot which was nice. Good choice of cakes. Scones were warm which was nice ... My ONLY criticism, the cream was not clotted cream. You can't have whipped or fake cream with a scone! Otherwise it would have been 5/5!

We received a voucher for afternoon tea and I have to say it was absolutely delicious. The service was fabulous and the staff very friendly.

Had a lovely afternoon tea at Mere Court Hotel bought through Groupon. Sandwiches were fresh and tasty, scones home made and delicious. Took my cakes home for later as was so full! The service and the staff were excellent. Will definitely return.

Afternoon tea vouchers through Groupon. Lovely sandwiches and scones, followed by cakes. Great value for money. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the staff were very pleasant and friendly. Will definitely be back in the near future. The hotel is lovely and the gardens, which we had a walk around, are stunning. We'll worth a visit.

Afternoon tea via Groupon. Not exactly a warm welcome from the obviously bored receptionist. Food very ordinary at best. Barely passable sandwiches and cakes. Nice scone but 'squirty cream' rather than clotted cream. Glad we didnt pay full price. Not recommended. Try the Midland in Manchester to see how it should be done.

Can't say about value for money as it was a mother's day present from my son. Brought my daughter with me. It was amazing. The young man who served us was so polite and accommodating. The food was delicious and the ambiance was idyllic. Thank you so much

We booked in for a champagne afternoon tea as we had a voucher for a Christmas present. We had a lovely time in a wonderful surroundings, a beautiful old building and stunning gardens. We managed to eat the sandwiches and scones but had to take the cakes home with us for eating the following day. And very delicious they were as well! Highly recommended.

Great foods

Celebrated my friends birthday with champagne afternoon tea. We had a lovely table and the grounds were beautiful. They made my friend feel special with a happy birthday sign made from chocolate. Would definitely recommend

We have had afternoon tea several times at Mere Court. I took my dog with me this time as the weather was glorious. We sat in the gardens which were perfect to walk round and play a quick game of ball. The staff were fabulous, very accommodating of our 4 legged guest. I'll he back again.
