Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea & Prosecco to celebrate my wife's birthday. Tasty sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, scrummy cakes and a big pot of tea and coffee. All at a great price with great service in a lovely setting. What's not to love :-)

What a lovely experience! The food was top notch and the service was great. We had the afternoon tea with Prosecco for two and we honestly enjoyed every minute. I would highly recommend the food.

Lovely afternoon tea for 2 in a very pleasant setting. We chose a seat in the window and the room was lovely and warm. The food served was very nice and fresh and we were both given a large pot of tea each. Very enjoyable and would definitely recommend.

Firstly I’d like to comment on ALL the staff so very pleasant .. We arrived first only because we had an early morning flight , the food was very good quality Particularly the soup !!!.. The atmosphere was welcoming and on our next visit we will book again Thank you

Very nice location indeed and the hotel was very friendly and comfortable. The afternoon tea and the breakfast the following day more than met expectations along with the friendliness and helpful attitude of the staff. The only issue was that the accessible room was a long walk from reception but that was overcome by bringing the wheelchair into the hotel.

Lovely relaxing dining area and fantastic afternoon tea. My kids and I enjoyed it so much.

Had a fantastic 3 course meal (via a gift/experience we’d had bought for us) on the weekend. Lovely place, outside grounds well maintained and structured, staff were very friendly and efficient, the decor and setting inside was great and most importantly, the food was very good. No complaints whatsoever.

What a lovely way to spend an afternoon with my daughter! We both have dietary requirements but the chef made sure we had a good range of food to eat and it was delicious. Great service as well. A big thank you.

Visited 1/11/23 for afternoon tea which was gift from daughters family. Took daughter and granddaughters aged 9yrs and 16months.Good food. Service excellent, nothing was too much trouble. All staff well presented, smiling and very helpful. Would recommend very highly.

Booked for afternoon tea yesterday it was lovely very well presented and the waitress and waiter were both very attentive We stayed the night in the Blenheim room which was nice and cosy overlooking the beautiful lawn the evening meal was exceptional surpassed only by the attention of Sam G - he made the evening more enjoyable he is certainly a credit to himself and the company would definately stay again

Love coming to Mere Court, the afternoon teas are beautiful. The staff are brilliant and friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them. Will definitely be arranging another visit very soon.

Comfortable night’s sleep. Our room was near the kitchen so noisy extractors. Evening meal was well presented. One chicken dish and the other plaice. Chicken was succulent with a mushroom sauce. Plaice with samphire and brown shrimps tasty, but lacked carbs so ordered separately. Waiting staff very attentive and professional. Breakfast choices were varied, especially the ones to order, such as eggs Benedict. Over all, a good stopping place between Scotland and the South West.

This beautiful country house in lovely gardens, sadly flatters to deceive. There is little care and attention to cleanliness outside and inside the property, with little evidence of any kind of ongoing maintenance. It all felt quite odd, from the lack of welcome, to being asked to sit and wait in the bar but with no drink or explanation offered, to being asked twice if we were here for lunch. ANd then if we had a voucher. The Sunday Lunch menu was a 2/3 course set menu with limited choice. We were sat in a room with no other diners. Other rooms were busy with Afternoon Tea diners. The light fittings were faulty and so the main light was not on, in an already gloomy room. If not for the luck of sunshine, we'd have been in a pretty dark environment. I ordered a bottle of sparkling water but was told I could only have a large one. I asked for ice specifically but none came. We got the distinct feeling that no-one really cared. The lunch was decidedly average, the roast beef in particular cooked beyond actual taste. The gravy its only saving grace. We didn't risk pudding. I can't believe the AA would now provide a Rosette. As we walked out, having to get up to ask for the bill at the bar after a lengthy wait, we both thought what a shame that such a lovely property and grounds were so poorly kept.

Booked afternoon tea for 4 people, Beautiful setting, Nice welcome,staff very attentive and helpful. Food was delicious, very fresh, scones were still warm absolutely beautiful. Would definitely recommend.

Ordered lunch. The wrong meal came meaning one of us had to wait whilst other ate. When it came it wasn’t as described on the menu. A double disappointment and recompenses were not offered.

Had a great night, good food, polite and friendly staff. Extra special as it was a birthday treat.
