Lovely restaurant. Great staff. Small menu but accommodative. Calamari with Aoli dip which was succulent and tasty. Ordered Chicken Supreme for mains but was disappointed to have gravy instead of creamy sauce. Chicken was very tender and a large portion.

Really quite disappointed. We’ve been for afternoon tea here a number of times and really enjoyed it, but this time it was very different. We were seated alone in the bar area, usually we are in the restaurant. We felt like we were in the way with staff doing jobs such as cleaning around us. The afternoon tea was brought out. We wanted coffee and had to call after the waitress to request this as she was walking away from us. There was no option given for latte etc that we’ve had previously. The sandwiches and scones were nice, but the cakes were so small, nothing like we have had previously. The waitress told us she was leaving, even though we hadn’t been served the champagne we had paid for. We asked for this and she shouted over the someone else to serve us. Overall disappointing compared to our previous visits. We won’t return.

We had a wonderful time celebrating our mums 83rd birthday. The staff were super attentive and made us all feel very welcome. The tables were beautifully prepared for our arrival and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and we couldn’t have asked for more. The atmosphere was very relaxed and we were not rushed or felt like we needed to leave after was had finished our food and drinks . The hotel also provided a surprise birthday for our mum ; a lovely chocolatey pudding plate, her face was a picture of happiness upon receiving it. Thank you again, we would return and recommend to others ….

Enjoyed the experience was amazing all the staff were very attenative, nothing was too much trouble. We went for New years Eve, everywhere was decorated beautifully and the food once again was amazing.

From the moment we checked in on NYE until we left on NYD when Milly booked us in and checked us out we found all the staff we came in contact with from the lady tending the bar and kitchen, Sam who looked after us relentlessly In the dinning room, including the male staff working on NYE, we had a lovely time and the food was delicious, first class…..

The food and service were both excellent! We were a party of 5 and everyone really enjoyed everything they ate. Steaks were cooked exactly as requested. Service at the table was well paced - not too fast, not too slow. The waiter who attended our table was very friendly and polite. All together, a very pleasing experience!

Just returned from a short Christmas break with a party of 4. We had a lovely time - at £490 for 2 people - which included a 2 night stay and all your food - we thought it was good value for money. The staff were wonderful (particularly a young man whose name I didn’t catch unfortunately) but he went over and above to make sure our stay was comfortable. He waited on our table in the restaurant on Christmas Eve - whoever he was - he deserves a special mention. I liked the personal touches on arrival in the room - a card and a Christmassy pack of toiletries and chocolates/snacks. Christmas Day meal was busy and Father Christmas was wandering about which was also a nice touch. We spent the evening in one of the small lounge areas - very cozy and ended making some new friends. Thank you Mere Court - we will definitely return.

The four of us have been several times to the Mere Court Hotel for Afternoon Tea, and really enjoyed it. However, our trip on 22 December was different. The overall atmosphere was good, service by the waitress was good, however we all felt the standard and taste of the sandwiches were not up to standard. The salmon was strong tasting and smelling and the turkey was very dry and the cranberry sauce tasted very different, not nice different. This was our Christmas treat and there were no crackers at the table - good job I bought our own. The scones and cakes were ok. I think the overall feeling was disappointment.

We went for afternoon tea for my husbands birthday yesterday, it was really lovely. We have been to Mere court before but this time was different. We were met at the door by the manager and taken to our table, or we could have just stayed in the beautifully festive dressed bar for a drink. We went to the table in the window of a newly decorated large room overlooking the three water fountains in the grounds. The service and the food just lived up to and beyond our expectations Thank you The service and the food

Fantastic afternoon for my mum's 75th birthday. Lovely atmosphere, staff friendly and helpful. We had such a nice afternoon. One of the best afternoon teas we have had. Mum really enjoyed her birthday here. Would definitely visit agian.

First time visit and very enjoyable, hotel is lovely and fabulous Christmas decorations. Couple of minor observations, we were largely on our own in the dining room which doesn't have the ambience of the other rooms in the hotel but is still very nice. Staff are lovely but could have been a little more attentive and we agree with another reviewer about switching the smoked salmon sandwiches if that is an option. Will definitely return for either drinks or food or both as it is a lovely place, wish we had tried it sooner.

A lovely afternoon tea with friends, we had a very friendly greeting from Ella who showed us to our table and took our drinks orders. The food came really quickly and was very well presented. There was plenty and a really lovely variety of sandwiches and sweet treats, I loved the little mince pie it was delicious. Scones were very tasty and we ate everything, it was too nice to leave. My only down was the smoked salmon sandwich, had I known it was on there I would have asked for an alternative, none of us really liked smoked salmon. All in all a very tasty afternoon tea in lovely surroundings with very friendly and attentive staff, will definitely come again ❤️

Four of us attending Mere Court Hotel on Sunday 7 December for lunch. It was back up to it's excellent standard. The food was delicious and was served hot by excellent staff. Have been coming here for over 10 years so I think that says it all. See you all on Boxing Day. The hotel was very sparkly with all its beautiful decorations. Well done.

Very quiet lunch as only three other covers in restaurant, we had a great weekend, very homely, room was excellent but I have to say the ambience of the restaurant compared to the rest of the hotel was awful, breakfast wasn’t that hot in fact the tomatoes were cold, we were not to bothered as we were having lunch but it was like having breakfast in a storeroom, chairs stacked up in the doorway, three each side, not a good look and no tablecloth for Sunday lunch, I realise that the cloth is a cost but put the price up by £2 per head to cover it, we want to return but would eat in the bar and wouldn’t book Sunday lunch as the restaurant lacks atmosphere and what I would expect. Food and service throughout was excellent please pass on our thanks.

We got married here 21yrs ago. It was lovely to come back and enjoy afternoon tea with my parents. Very easy to see why we choose here for our wedding - something really special about the feel to the place. It’s homely and relaxing whilst at the same time of a premium standard - a unique blend that’s really quite becoming.
