We had a nice afternoon tea on Thursday. The food was good but there wasn’t much atmosphere in the room where it was served it wasn’t very welcoming and a bit too formal a setting for a relaxed meal. Also I had specified that the tea was a celebration of a 70 th birthday and special request I had asked could a cupcake or similar have either a candle on it or some icing saying happy birthday. Neither were provided.

My Mum and I enjoyed a beautiful afternoon tea experience at the Mere Court hotel. The quality of the food was fantastic and equally matched by the service we received from the waitress who was very accommodating and made our experience even more enjoyable. I look forward to returning to try out the wider food menu!

Came for afternoon tea with my partner. Had a really nice time. The women who dealt with us was very lovely and friendly, can’t remember her name she had black hair. overall lovely afternoon

Lovely afternoon at Mere Court. Lunch for 8 celebrating an 80th was well made and gluten free largely catered for. Great children's menu. Service was friendly and the facilities good. The lawn games and grounds were a treat for our party. Very relaxed. Thank you Mere Court!

Lovely afternoon tea in perfect surroundings

A beautiful Hotel with gorgeous gardens surrounding it. Staff were very pleasant and altogether a lovely afternoon . The food was good so it was fairly good value for money

A special birthday celebration in fabulous surroundings. The food was absolutely delicious, and beautifully presented. Colin and Angie were super attentive and friendly and made our afternoon very special . I would highly recommend and I'm coming back to try your afternoon tea

10 of us went yesterday to Mere Court Hotel, it was absolutely spot on, they arranged a large table to seat us all. The food was very fresh and delicious, especially the scones. The staff could have not been more attentive, very pleasant and extremely helpful. Plenty of tea and coffee which both came very hot. Would definitely recommend it for anyone that wanted such a lovely afternoon x

Me and my wife booked the outdoor pod and afternoon tea 6 years after we got married at mere court hotel, it was a special treat for our anniversary. Unfortunately after paying £20 extra for the pod we got there and the pod was sealed shut with the heater on in the sun, it was about 100c inside, our afternoon tea dried out within a out 5 mins, we had to ask for water because of how hot it was, which wasn't offered. We could t finish the food because the heat was making us feel sick, it ruined our anniversary and soured our past wedding venue sadly, we had to leave early because the heat made us feel so I'll I just need you to know, if someone books your mouldy never cleaned pod, can you at least try and apply customer service to the experience, clean the pod, open the windows and doors, maybe even air it out, it was sealed shut. Also the staff didn't seem to even realise we had booked afternoon tea, everyone seemed as if they didn't want to be there. It's just really upsetting, we loved mere court we had the happiest day of our life there and now I'm not sure we ever want to go back. Please sort it out please bring back the customer service The scones were fantastic, wish I could've enjoyed the cream without it turning into a puddle of single cream.

Fantastic afternoon lunch. Grounds where jot as good as made out to be. However still very much enjoyed our time. Lovely surroundings and atmosphere. The gentleman who looked after us was fantastic such a welcoming man (unfortunately did not get his name)

We have just had Afternoon Tea @ The Mere Court Hotel, which is set in lovely quiet gardens. The food was excellent. Fresh tasty sandwiches, and beautiful scones and cakes. Will definitely be going back again. Many thanks to all the staff at the hotel.

Monday was the third time I have done the afternoon tea with my mum, the service is amazing and the food was fresh and tasty

Lovely afternoon tea. Very attentive service, lovely sandwiches cakes and endless fresh supplies of tea. Lovely gardens to stroll around. Overall my friends and I had a lovely afternoon.

I had the pigeon breast starter which was overcooked and tough and my wife had the whipped burrata which was light and pleasant. For mains my wife had Plaice fillet with shrimp dressing which she enjoyed very much. I had the chicken supreme with mushroom cream which I thought was superb. The chicken breast was so succulent and tasty and all washed down with a lovely Sauvignon Blanc. For dessert we shared a cheese board and a glass of port. Overall, very satisfied with the meal and it was also good value. Unfortunately, the piped music tried to ruin our evening, being too loud and of dubious quality. (Breakfast was also ruined by the same intrusive and inescapable dross coming through the speakers throughout the public spaces)

3rd visit for afternoon tea. This time it was extremely disappointing and we wont be returning. Once seated and tea/coffee brought to the table we were just ignored.No one asked if we were ok or if we would like anything more We had to get up twice to find someone. There was absolutely no service which spoilt the visit. The lady on reception was very nice and helpful..Ive seen other reviews of a similar experience so there must be something amiss..The afternoon tea was OK,apart from the carrot cake which was pretty awful..What a shame as its a great location...I did contact them a few days later but am still waiting ..Very disappointing
