chilli and lemon couscous, honey roasted salmon and a Mediterranean vegetable tortilla slice .... a lovely light lunch, fresh and delicious! A great idea, independent, local businesses - more of 'em please. Outstanding!

Soupanova – LancasterIt is now the third occasion in the past three months that my wife and I have dined at the Greyhound. Consistency in the pleasant efficiency of the service is surpassed only by the excellent quality of the food. For my part, I am one of the most difficult persons to please, particularly in respect of 'Fish Dishes' and I would suggest that it would be a difficult challenge to meet in finding better anywhere in the Lune Valley.
The Greyhound – LancasterEaten here a few times, great pub atmosphere with excellent food and friendly service 10/10.
The Borough – LancasterI can't recommend the Greyhound at Halton enough. It has a lovely welcoming atmosphere and the food is delicious. They use only the best local produce and you can really tell by the quality of their food. Try the fish and chips with the Greyhound's own beer batter and homemade chunky chips. Brilliant!
The Greyhound – LancasterThis is a gem of a place, found it by chance and have eaten there a few times. The food is excellent and very good value for money. Definitely one of my favourite places.
The Lodge – LancasterThe food here is great the ice cream is outstanding and if you have room left try some of the homemade chocolates on sale! Well worth a visit.
The Pudding House at Wallings Farm – LancasterGood food, great service, although the music was a little loud.
Marcos – Lancasterthis place is amazing, you are made to feel so welcome and the food is fantastic. I will definitely be a regular visitor from now on.
Sultan Of Lancaster – LancasterDespite it's small interior, Etna boasts the friendliest staff in Lancaster. The food is modestly priced, with a varied selection of white, red, and even sparkling wine on offer to complement the dishes. The chicken was to die for, the veal outstanding, and the speciality dessert list (including pictures) finished off an exceptional evening. We will definitely be going back. Perfect for any occasion, cosy, unpretentious and exquisitely authentic.
Etna Pizza Pasta – Lancasteri like the pudding house as it is modern! Love the ice-cream. The food was brilliant!
The Pudding House at Wallings Farm – LancasterI found the pudding house had a lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious. The staff were helpful and polite therefore I would recommend this restaurant to all food lovers.
The Pudding House at Wallings Farm – LancasterWe had a very pleasant lunch with toddlers. Children's menu food was especially good. Staff catered for families well. We will go back.
The Mill at Conder Green – LancasterAlways a quality experience, excellent food, wine and service at a reasonable price. Visited many times and yet to have anything less than an enjoyable time
Quite Simply French – LancasterReally lovely gastro - pub style food with a great atmosphere for drinking or eating, and brilliant value too but feels pretty upmarket. I?e eaten here a few times and never been disappointed by the food or the really friendly service.
The Borough – LancasterExcellent food - highly recommend the Teppan-Yaki style food. You tend to have more fun if a larger group goes as you dominate a grill area. As always, Japanese food is slightly more expensive than Chinese in an area, so don't expect a cheap meal.
Miyabi Japanese Restaurant – LancasterBeautiful evening, the best Lancaster has to offer in our eye's, the menu descriptions alone made my mouth water! The whole evening was a delight and the amarone was incredible, tiucci belli, tiucci belli (as we say in Italy) bravo Sun Cafe!
The Secret Bistro – LancasterThis is like travelling back to a combination of '80's and absinth addicted paris in the 1900's. In other words the decor of the place is rather confused although it has great potential if it chooses to either go more retro or kitsch. As far as the food's concerned your average pizza place quality, very few decent looking pasta on the menu (didn't get to try it) we did nevertheless get a vey nice desert. The service wasn't particularly eager but has perhaps to do with the fact that we showed up at ten.
Pizza Margherita – LancasterI've visited Miyabi once and was pleased by the quality of the food and service. It is a nice place, nothing spectacular though, I'd expect more theatricals in a Teppan-Yaki place.
Miyabi Japanese Restaurant – LancasterSunday Roast: 2 courses, £19; 3 courses, £23.
