Excellent food. Although there was a wait for a table, this was well worth it. The cocktails are also fabuous!!

A friend and I had booked here for a treat because we had read about it in a magazine! When we arrived the restaurant was closed due to work being done on the hotel, we were so disappointed as we had looked forward to it for so long! However we were offered to sample the food but in the bar complimentary and I have to say the food was outstanding and I can? wait to return in the proper restaurant to get a true feel for the place! We only had wine to pay for which was more than your average restaurant but even if we paid full price would have been worth every penny! 10 out of 10 for food presentation and taste and culinary expertise! We couldn? fault it and loved it! Thank you!

i went to the restaurant just by chance, we had to wait a bit for a table as it was busy-i didn? mind as the gentleman behind the desk was very friendly. we got a nice cosy table in the corner and chose a preset menu. the food was absolutely fantastic. ive never eaten such good Chinese food. the only wrong thing was one of the waiting staffs miserable face but as all of us there work in the catering industry, we could understand that it was a busy night for them and its hard to always smile. I know live in Southampton and i wish there was a restaurant like that here. I would recommend it to anybody any day! The location is also ideal for a night out!

Having been to Thailand on holiday 3 times it was always going to be a struggle to find the same standard of freshness and quality back home. Chaophraya more than exceeded my expectations. The service was second to none, the atmosphere authentic and the food absolutely fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant. I took my parents there a few months ago - the first time they had eaten Thai. They are now addicted! Superb!

Everyone should eat here. The food is lovely and its suitable for dates, business lunches, catching up with friends and taking your mum to. Been about 8 times in the past three years and never been disappointed.

This is without doubt the finest Thai restaurant We have eaten in. The surroundings are all original Thai. The menu is extensive though the professional staff (all in their authentic Thai dress) make understanding easy and the standard of service cannot be faulted. The biggest surprise of the evening was the bill, modest for this standard of dining. We have no hesitation of recommending to friends.

Great food and staff who make you feel more than welcome. The place was buzzing at 7.30pm on a Friday night and had a wonderful atmosphere. We certainly had no complaints about the yummy sangria!

Having booked Room Only we searched for somewhere to eat breakfast. The lady who owns the place is delightfully eccentric. She sings along to Italian songs at the top of her voice and doesn't hesitate to express her feelings, shouting at staff and customers alike. After a short while we entered into the spirit, laughing with abandoned enjoyment, and we felt that we were in an Italian trattoria. We enjoyed our breakfast so much that we returned the next morning. The food was freshly cooked and there was plenty of it! This is the ONLY place to eat breakfast in Leeds!

I can hardly bear to tell everyone about this wonderful restaurant and let the secret out but the owner, Bafti, is so nice that he deserves the extra custom. La Besi is a cosy little Italian bistro with a stylish interior, delicious food and charming staff. Even the chef is Italian and the whole place exudes an ambience of quality and pleasure. Not only is the standard of cuisine and service high, the price had me won over. Change from £30 for a three course meal for two. You don't see that often outside the faceless chain restaurants who only serve up bland meals. I have to confess I am a sucker for these little independent family restaurants anyway because the service is so much better and I am a bit tired of the big chains, but with La Besi it has everything else going for it as well. I highly recommend the steak or the seafood risotto. Can't wait to have my Christmas works meal there. Enjoy this little slice of Italian perfection before it gets too trendy and booked up. At the moment they are only small, with about seven or eight tables inside. Luke.

The young French chief is able to produce very good food. Bar manager knows his customers. Black Sheep (First Class)and other beers are good/Look at the different drinks behind the bar

Viva Cuba is the gem of Leeds. Every aspect of it is superb. Food, atmosphere, staff and the actual restaurant itself. I really can't understand why anyone wouldn't like this place. Yes, it may get busy sometimes, but that just adds to the night. Oh and best king prawns in the world. :)

I went on Thursday 23/11 and was very pleased with the food and the service. We had duck Gyoza and Tori Kara age (fried chicken pieces) and Yaki Udon for main. The food was very tasty and we didn? have to wait long. Would definitely recommend it.

Maxis is tasty has its own distinct taste. The kung po chicken is dreamy and the selection is good but i feel limited. Staff are hard working and courteous. A great experience

I always enjoy eating at Akhbars, the quality is always excellent and it is always very busy. It does tend to get very noisy though. As I was with some asian friends the waiter did give us the option of having it asian style, beware it involves lots of green chillies!
