Shambles at The Brambles!We visited this Gastropub on Saturday, 10 days after it opened. Lovely decor, good atmosphere, food okay, customer service absolutely atrocious.We waited 50 minutes for 3 sandwiches, 2 other tables in our section were served (20 minutes!) before us, and our drinks order was lost for 20 minutes!This would be forgivable if it hadn't been for the appalling attitude of the management. After waiting for 50 minutes my partner asked to speak to the manager and explained the situation. Instead of apologising and offering a solution, the manager (and owner we believe) adopted a confrontational approach and began to argue with us, telling us we'd been told about the wait (we hadn't!) and saying "well what do you want me to do about it?". In the end he grudgingly knocked 10 off the bill, but in no way apologised or made us feel valued.This shortsighted and commercially-suicidal attitude from management has also filtered down to waiting staff, who were either standing around or darting about like frightened rabbits refusing to meet our eyes!It's a shame because the elements are there to make a great eatery for Holmfirth. However after this atrocious example of customer service, this disgruntled foodie will be passing on to friends a very unfavourable review!

Excellent food, excellent service and really friendly to our children. A really good choice of food and really quick service. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes quality food.

Re: ‘ river fortune 5 st peters place Leeds ls9 8aq While working away in Leeds I asked a fellow colleague where I could enjoy an Chinese meal one evening. She recommended the ‘river fortune’ in Leeds st peters place so we booked a table for the following night. On arriving at the ‘river fortune’ we were warmly greeted by the waiters who swiftly seated us, took our drinks order (what else but sun lik !) and brought fresh,warm prawn crackers while we perused the menu and were spoiled for choice.We ordered a selection of duck ,seafood based dish like beancurd casserole szechuanstyle, black pepper dishes some fried rice and Cantonese sauce when they arrived we could not believe the generosity of the portions, but the subtle spicing and superb quality of the meat and seafood seduced us into eating the lot. We washed it down with a bottle of white wine that was surprisingly good. The total bill for two ( gratuity) was under £40 which indicates excellent value for money, especially considering the generous quantity and high quality of what we had. It was interesting to note that even on a Thursday evening , the restaurant was full and a steady stream of customers (including the local Chinese population ) called in to collect their take-away meals.The river fortune was converted by the Hoque family ,from a dowdy site into a chic’ brasserie style restaurant offering Chinese and Thai cuisine. It opened on 7th November 2011 with 104 covers of contrasting black and cream linen Well done to the Hoque family for developing this successful restaurant, I look forward to returning soon (more reports please )

This Indian restaurant has the best food by far of any I've been to around the Wakefield area.I'm am disabled and did find the small step a bit of a problem with my walking frame,but the food was well worth the effort.The staff were very helpful once they had seen me enter.I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and will be back very soon.9 out of 10. Reasonable price for a buffet (all you can eat). Quality of most was very acceptable. if you have an allergy please beware and advise the manager as soon as you walk in as they do not listen if you've started to eat the starter without looking at potential issues with the hotplate main course area (particularly if you have a shell fish allergy).Overall a 6/10

This shop holds a Fish and Chip Quality Award from the National Federation of Fish Friers. You can be very confident of the quality of food and service in this shop.

My family visit this establishment a couple of times per month, the food is delicious and the service is fantastic, I think it is two young sisters who serve on a Friday and they are funny as well as good waitresses.

Sunday lunch today. Very friendly, great food, prompt and helpful service with a smile. Caters really well for children (mine are 3 and 7). Food traditional, well made pub food with crisp, fresh vegetables, fantastic yorkshires and good quality meat. Source of food is local- all explained on a helpful sign on the bar.Will definitely be back. Thanks !!

My Partner Took Me To Ashiqs For My Birthday, His Mum And Dad Came Along Too And We Were All Very Impressed With The Food And The Customer Service. Mr Ashiq Himself Was Such A Lovely Man. The Best Restaurant Ive Ever Been To.

Well where do I start,after deciding to go the White Rose for a meal,we arrived to a very busy restaurant. We walked in very dubious to be greeted with a very efficient young man who took us to out table arranged our drinks and gave us the menus. The atmosphere was very busy and buzzing,we ordered our meal and was shown the salad bar,by the time we got our salad the meal arrived and we could not complement the food/service and friendliness enough. We have told friends and eager await our next visit. Well done to all the staff and the standard Harvester as invested in.

Lucia's is our favourite Fantastic night last Saturday with the staff under the demonic vamp Lindsay - attentive as ever. Great food, great night!!!

Have visited the Old Canteen on a number of occasions since it opened,especially for Sunday lunch.We have always been delighted with high standard of food and service until today(30th Oct.)Main course was very good but portion of roast beef was unusually meagre. Main complaint was with the vanilla slice which was hugely disappointing and looked like it came from a well known fast food outlet in town and was very sorry for itself.I did register my complaint as I left.

went here last night, to see a live act. I heard this act was fantastic as i live local, yes they where amazing,we where enjoying the show, they really performed real professionally and looked the biz, the night got ruined though due to a problem with the landlord , i heard that the pub was suffering and could not pay the band, so the landlord tried his best to be a pain.I don't know where he was coming from the Abba tribute was great and everyone seemed to be enjoying it,singing and dancing to their hits, what a shame...they left and packed up after their first set, after hearing they called it a night and left, so did lots of customers, including my friends and i, the landlord replaced this fab group that has being est 9 years i think they said, the landlord said anyone who wants to sing acapella on his microphone will be welcome, what a sorry state it was, everyone's face was a picture and thought what the hell went wrong it was a great night up to the Abba going and replaced by amateur s**t.... what a shame.... i do hope this landlord and landlady see how they reacted cos they certainly showed their selves up and their pub, it is a badly run management ship.I will certainly not go back here and i recommend others don`t too, the management wrecked the atmosphere.

Overpriced average food and a disconcerting air of pretension - distinctly average in all but price and portion.

Best curry in yorkshire our party enjoyed their balti meal here,very good service spacious and lovely deco restaurant ,excellent parking, we recommend you try this place for excellent and good flavour curry.

Service charge not acceptable to many people who are regular visitors to Salute. All my friends tip well on nights out but object to the amount being decided by the management. at Salute. Other Italians in Wakefield give excellent service and leave the tip to be decided by the customer not the establishment.
