Swiss Cottage Restaurant – Hornseatheir fish and chips are to die for !!! the fish is always fresh, and chunky and especially if you get a large cod its huge. staff friendly , good food , nothing else to say really except try it , you won't be disappointed !!!
King St Fisheries – BarnsleyThis is a small family run restaurant with family links to the Royal Spice at Darton which was awarded the first ever 10/10 for alround food and service quality. What can we say but the palace Tandoori rivals the Royal Spice and has also been awarded a 10/10. Food excellent, service very good and very friendly. Bring your own booze keeps costs low. Booking is a must as it gets very busy - but is certainly worth a visit.
Palace Tandoori Restaurant and Takeaway – Huddersfieldwe have been to the wheatsheaf several times and always the food is excellent. The service is good and the waiting times not too long. I would recommend this pub to everybody
Wheatsheaf Inn – CleckheatonJill & Tim think that we go to Leeds just for the pleasure of visiting them but having been invited to visit Raja's on the last two occasions, then they are in danger of becoming the secondary reason for going. As a culinary experience each visit is a mouthwatering treat: quite simply the best quality/best value for money my wife & I have experienced anywhere, and I mean anywhere. Raja's is the best reason to visit Leeds you'll ever have.
Raja’s – RoundhayWe were recommended by the Wentworth Hotel to have a meal there, it was fabulous food and fabulous service , the staff and landlady made us more than welcome, we will certainly try to visit again soon.,
Elm Tree Inn – HullBest curry i ever had gorgeous meal excellent place good parking recommend to everyone.
Balti House Restaurant – KeighleyWe had our Son's Christening reception at Salute today. The food was delicious and the staff were great. An 10% OPTIONAL service charge is added to the bill and in our case, this was an extra £50 on top of our bill. The food was nice, but not worth a £50 tip. I approached the Owner, Justine and asked for the service charge to be removed from the bill as our guests were going to leave their own tips. I was confronted with an abrupt 'I'd rather not remove it' and when I stated that their menu said that it was optional anyway, her response was that it only says optional as they are required by law to say optional and that we should pay the £50 on the bill as our guests wouldn't leave a £50 tip. Having spent £500 on food and another few hundred pounds on everyone's drinks, I do not expect to be treated like this - how dare a Manager speak to paying customers like this!!! Justine spoilt what had been a lovely day with her aggressive uncustomer friendly attitude. I can safely say that we will not be going back to Salute, as I do not want to give that rude woman another penny of my money!!!!!
Salute @ The White Swan – RothwellGreat fish and chips, and mushy peas of course. And the price is right as well.
The Fisherman – SettleWent in for the first time in years as people that had it before really put us off...it was like an episode from the munsters. Could not be more different, food excellent and a totally different atmosphere and they actually have some stock behind the bar. Keep it up guys!!!
The Bottomleys Arms – Halifaxvisited the peppered pig on the 22nd Sept 2011 for an evening meal with friends. well what can i say but fantastic the food & service was superb, and using locally sourced ingredients. The waitresses couldn't of been more helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine. Will certainly be visiting again.thank you for a great evening
The Peppered Pig – Goolehttp://www.writespirit.net The aim of life is to live a divine life. We are living in this world. We know that man does not live by bread alone. He needs the soul in order to live in the world of God's Reality. The soul alone has the capacity to see and feel the known and the Unknown, the existent and the non-existent, the dream of the past, the achievement of the present and the hope of the future.
BBs Italian Restaurant – SheffieldGreat food, great value, great service and always consistent.
Raaj of India – HolmfirthVisited this lovely Turkish restaurant on Friday evening, the owner saw me looking at the menu outside and welcomed us in. We had the mixed mezeler starter, more than enough for two people, followed by my favourite Imam Bayildi (fainting priest) everything was delicious The owner came and chatted with us, and after the meal so did the chef, sharing tips with me on how best to prepare Imam Bayildi The restaurant is unlicensed so BYO, we will be back soon
Ephesus Turkish Restaurant – HorsforthI recently ate with my family at your restaurant (Damons) in Sheffield. I am writing to say how very disappointed I was. Before I tell you of my awful experience, I would like to say that the staff were very pleasant, efficient and that the service on their part was exceptional. Not the same case unfortunately for company hierarchy and food quality standards. I was disgusted and quite honestly, insulted, that I was served my food on a plastic plate! This would have been acceptable had I been 40,000ft in the air on a jumbo jet where weight makes all the difference but in a restaurant, unbelievable! Although I was quite pleasantly surprised I had cutlery made from metal. Bonus! I am unhappy with the way the restaurant is advertised and priced, as a "fine dining restaurant". This is wholly untrue and a gross case of false advertisement. Never before in any restaurant anywhere in the 17 countries I have travelled too, have I ever been served "smash" (fake mashed potato) = unacceptable. You also claim to give "generous portions", would you consider 11 chips with my mother's steak generous? Id like to inform you that I have had more "generous" portions of chips in third world countries like Uzbekistan, Somalia and Malawi. My whole family were very unhappy with their meals. The manager didn't have anything to say in defence for the smash and food quality, as he pointed out he could only make best of the situation that he has been selfishly put in. He didnâ??t try to make excuses for the rubbish that was placed before us; he was very honest and accommodating and did all he could. The gentleman is a credit to your company. He gave us a 20% discount which was all he could do at the time. Overall despite the discount and the fact that it is barely over an hour's time in wages for me, I still feel cheated that I had to pay a £73 food bill. (after 20% compensation) I am completely disgusted with our very unpleasant "dining experience" at your restaurant A very unsatisfied customer
Damons – SheffieldThis by far is one of the BEST Italian restaurants I have been to. My wife and I have been going to Gigis since it opened, and was a regular customer of another Italian restaurant they used to own before they sold it and started Gigis. Service: This by far is totally exceptional, all the staff there go above, way and beyond what would usually be expected. Even at peak times, service is warm, friendly and efficient Food: Been an ex-chef, I like things to be almost perfect, and I’ve got to say it is definitely perfect. The food is bustling in flavour, wide in variety, and plentiful in their portions. From a personal choice, I can recommend the Tomato Garlic Bread, Meatballs Starter, Mozzarella in Carrozo starter. Sirloin Steak Pizzola, any of the pizzas and penne Vesuvio is are among my favourite mains. Lasagne is really tasty as are the rest of the dishes. If you try this restaurant, I can 99% guarantee you will NOT be disappointed, the other 1% accounts for you can’t please everyone, and even the 1% that isn’t happy, the staff will do there best to accommodate you. Booking is advisable especially at weekends!!!
Gigis – Pudseyvisited this cafe on spur and found a true gem in the Leeds crown. situated in Victoira Quarter out side the main store of Harvey Nichols and covered by an amazing stained glass roof giving the impression of a modern cathedral, after a short wait we were greeted at the entrance by a manager and made to feel welcome then seated at a side table to browse the menu then a waitress came over and continued to delight with her knowledge of the products on offer. This cafe/ restaurant gives a truly great service and product. we chose a main from the savoury menu with a new "fashion cocktail" the Dazzling Dior ! we will defo be going back and taking friends with us. Ideal for the family or the Ladies who lunch!
Harvey Nichols Espresso Bar – Leeds City CentreI Hadn't visited this place for a long time, in fact i think the last time i did it was trying to be a night club!, anyway the place is very much a more relaxed place to be than it once was these days!, and the food was excellent quality with the staff very polite, the waitress did get my bill mixed up initially but the problem was rectified with no major fuss.Great Ales, Stella on tap, and a generally nice place to be, would like to see the kids playground 're-appear' however as we do have kids to entertain as sure this place is nice in the summer months by the stream.
