Great news! The Emmott's now has new management. Still cheap quality drinks and food. Ideal at a time when there is a financial depression. The emmott's is a great traditional pub and well worth a visit. If your local and have never been in before then I recommend you visit especially now its got new management.

Called in to the Old Station on a local walk. Very impressed with the warm welcome, a lovely pint of Abbot ale and their fish & chip lunch. Was all very good quality; much better than the average pub. We intend to return.

Very disappointing lunch venue. On the face of it the menu, although limited, was interesting, but the delivery was completely unacceptable. Poor service and very poor food standard. £30 for two people. The bowl of olives at £2 was a complete joke - there must have been all of 4!! We would NEVER eat there again - a complete rip off.

Fantastic food and service would recommend to anyone, good prices too especially during the price squeeze, was visiting relatives and wish they are close to my home town.

We visited this restaurant on Friday night it was healthily busy. The waiter took our coats as soon as we arrived and showed us to our table. The decor was trendy with a retro feel and the ambiance was relaxing. The sea food gumbo was outstanding with a mix of Cray fish, cod, monk fish, shrimp, muscles and salmon. My girl friend had Tomato and basil soup which she enjoyed although her main of long horn sirloin was more medium when she asked for it medium well but I enjoyed the taste! I was very disappointed with my main of Crab it was cold there is no way they pulled it out of there tank and got it that cold in the amount of time it got to our table so saying there fresh is a bit of a con. All in all the service was brilliant the food was of a good standard however the disappointment of the night was the price was a little high for the steak and the crab was not fresh as stated 7/10

Had a poor experience. Food was over-priced and not one of the eight of us enjoyed any of the dishes. It doesn't seem to know if it is Spanish, Italian or Portugese - I guess none of the above from the food but the Ferrari flag outside might suggest an Italian owner. The staff were cold and unfriendly.

1st November 2008. We visited this pub yesterday, and were very pleasantly surprised - both by the atmosphere, warmth and cosiness (open fires) and also by the very good selection of food. Perhaps a little more expensive that the average - e.g.£3.95 for soup - but a menu that offers some unusual choices - venison, salmon en papillote with ginger and onions (and cooked in greaseproof paper!!). Wonderful crunchy home made chips and well cooked vegetables. My husband said the Guinness was first class. We had prompt and efficient service and will definitely return. Our journey from Glossop over to Holmfirth was a lovely day out with stunning scenery, probably even better in the summer!

Four of us ate there 1st November 2008 and must say that the food was very good. Dopiatza and Madras were excellent,as was one of the special dishes (cant recall the name). Also nice starters. Good service from attentive well mannered and friendly waiters. Nice beers on offer too. Place settings basic but very clean, Ladies received single flower at the end. Nice touch. Will certainly visit again.

What a disappointment, the food was very nice compliments to the chef, but the service was a great disappointment nothing came together and the dessert menu never came, the waitress was to busy washing up. The room was very cold when we were seated,it is a big room and we were seated next to the windows, mine host needs to go to charm school

The Royal is the best restaurant Ive ever had the pleasure of eating in. its award winning and has a facebook group. Im a loyal local and cant get enough of it. You wont be disappointed.

Its a great restaurant, one of the best in Barnsley. My advice is walk 100 yards to the Royal Spice for the best curry I have ever had. Chicken Tikkas are off the chart and the specials are like nothing else Ive ever tasted ( especially the Jeera ). Its that good it won the curry guides top award. The Dil raj at Dodworth comes a close second but is half as much again on price. If you like a modern looking curry house then try the Darton balti its a good restaurant.

The Ate O Clock is my favourite restaurant in York and I would not hesitate to recommend it. We visited last night for my birthday meal and the food was wonderful - trio of fish especially. The ambience is second to none and the food amazing. 10/10

Myself and my Wife went on a Thursday Evening not knowing there was an Early Bird offer on, the early bird was buy one get one free on starters, mains and rices and runs monday to Thursday 5pm till 7pm. I was most impressed with the food the Starters were excellent and the mains were even better, the waiter recommended a couple of dishes of which i chose one, the waiters were very friendly and went out of there way to ensure everything was up to your liking. I will certainly be going again and would recommend it to anyone i know.

Excellent choice of restaurant I would highly recommend it (thanks Kat for telling me about it!). The menu is vast and varied something there for everyone (even the pickiest of eaters) and the service was great. It’s so nice to go somewhere where the staff don’t just appear to be happy and helpful, they actually are happy and helpful!

I visited this restaurant recently and the had the lamb kebab, I can honestly say that it was one of the nicest kebabs I have ever had the pleasure of eating, the prices are very reasonable and the staff are keen to make your dining experience as pleasurable as possible….i will be paying this gem a visit again soon!!!!

Service is very poor unless you are busty female! My family I went on Monday night and was ignored. We got drinks when we were seated but for the rest of the night we was not offered any more. Even when they brought out main course and we all had empty glass we was not offered any. They pass our table 10 or 15 times when they were not serving other tables. If you are a regular then they will be all over you, leaving the rest of us out. When I point this out when paying, I was told that I should have stopped. I made my point that I come to a restaurant to be waited on and that is part of good service. It seemed that they were not bothered about our custom. It's a shame as it local to us but They will not be getting any of our business in the future. If you want a great italian run by a proper italian family go to Mam Mia's in centre of Bradford. They are always welcoming to all.
