Tykes Restaurant – FlaxtonEXCELLENT FOOD!! I have tried a few Caribbean takeaways in Leeds and i have to say Maureens is by far the best in terms of food AND customer service. The food is brilliant, I have tried a variety of their food and i have to say it is really hard to have a favourite as it is all fantastic!! Not only is the food fantastic but the workers are fast and professional and some of the friendliest customer service people i have known. They are always pleased to help you if your stuck for choice and it is always a nice atmosphere. It is good value for your money as i ordered a large meal and it was enough to fill me up and take the rest home. Also Maureens homemade puddings are THE BEST! I would recommend anyone to visit Maureens!
Maureens Caribbean Eat In Or Takeaway – RoundhayThe restaurant (just by J38 M1) has just re-opened (6/12/08). We were the first customers. Excellent food, well presented. Chef is Chris from Raymond Blanc's "The Restaurant" on BBC.
Old Post Office Bar & Steak House – BarnsleyWe visited on a Friday evening without booking a table, Restaurant was probably two-thirds full, pleasant and relaxing atmosphere, mostly couples or groups of couples. Very good service, good wine selection. The food had a home-made look and flavour which we really enjoyed, and I understand that they don't use artificial additives/preservatives. This did seem to be the case - the tikka dishes weren't the expected bright red colour, and we didn't suffer from the usual dry mouth or "curry tummy(!) next day. The only complaint I would have is that we ordered the pickle trays, and it would have looked better, and more hygienic, to serve a fresh selection in clean trays, as it was obvious that ours had already been used by someone else.
Curry Lounge – RoundhayThe restaurant (just by J38 M1) has just re-opened (6/12/08). We were the first customers. Excellent food, well presented. Chef is Chris from Raymond Blanc's "The Restaurant" on BBC.
Stunning. Simply stunning. Every time I visit it gets better. Gorgeous food, great service, and always always busy so great atmosphere. In my opinion, still the best restaurant in Leeds by a long way. Love it!
Chaophraya – Leeds City CentreEvery time I have been I have hoped that it might have improved but so far it hasn't. Badly cooked food that has been left under a hotplate lamp for too long and dried out. The bar staff are yonderly to say the least.
Foxglove – HuddersfieldNot a recommendation - Please pass on to manager or chef. I work for the architects next door. Service - very good Environment - very good Food - disgustingly awfully terrible Stater - Flatbread stater. 1 Tortilla??? in escence it is flat and bread. but u gotta be kidding me? The others were just simply terrible. I was going to organise our works christmas party.. to go have tapas at medusa, but unless a chef is hired i simply cannot.
Medusa Bar – HorsforthI was taken to the Rhubarb triangle along with a colleague by an ex colleague who was treating us to lunch for his retirement and is a regular visitor and we thought it was very good - the service was brilliant and the food excellent it was clean and welcoming.
Rhubarb Triangle Brewers Fayre – Wakefieldlive in Clecky and went here with the wife on a sunday night. Starters were just a nice portion without overfacing you, 6 poppadoms with pickletray were plenty for 2 healthy appetites. Main course was chicken jalfrezi for me and the wife had the chefs special curry {bit of everything } which came in a few separate dishes, a good idea in case there was an ingredient you weren.t keen on. we had 1 naan between us and almost had to raise the white flag as we were stuffed ! 4 bottles of Indian beer and total bill £36. service was quick and friendly, and discreetly overseen by the manager. what more do you want ! Come on locals, get yer sen round there and show a bit of support !
Bengal Brasserie – BrighouseBeen here a few times now, and it never fails to deliver. Food is excellent, service is swift, staff smile occasionally, but they are very busy, always on the look out for used dishes/plates. I have already recommended it to many, and will continue to do so.
China Palace – GarforthI would not recommend the Tempest Arms at Elslack. I visited there with my mother at lunchtime one Friday and both ordered a prawn open sandwich at around £6 each. The description on the menu was "lashings of prawns". When it arrived, there certainly weren't lashings of prawns. It consisted of 2 pieces of brown break and butter with a small handful of prawns, iceberg lettuce and marie rose sauce. We also ordered a bowl of chips at £2.50. We were served a half full small dish of pale soggy chips. We sent them back and asked for a fresh "proper" sized portion. The bill came to around £17 for 2 prawn sandwiches, a glass of wine, soft drink and a small bowl of chips. Certainly not value for money, in fact, I felt that I had been ripped off. The service was average and we kept being asked by different waitresses if the food was alright. This pub is supposed to have a good reputation, but I have been told by a number of people that the food is hit or miss. The menu prices are expensive and I wouldn't eat there again.
The Tempest Arms – SkiptonGREAT TAPAS GREAT OWNERS GREAT PLACE. CAME OVER FROM ROCHDALE TO EAT WORTH THE TRIP
Dos Amigos – HeadingleyWhat a great way to get lost and unwind in such tranquil settings. This was our fifth visit to the Willow Restaurant and each time our trips just get longer. Margaret and the staff are without a doubt the most heartwarming and welcoming people you could ever wish to meet. It goes without saying that the cuisine at the Willow is as always delightful with a wonderful range of home made treats and locally sourced produce. After such a lovely meal what better way to unwind then heading back to our room with a bottle of the gorgeous Whistling Duck wine from the restaurant. With a gorgeous private living room the accommodation offers the ideal setting to just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet offered by the Yorkshire Dales. We will be sure to return next year for another week of much needed rest and relaxation. Mrs Holmes Devon
Willow Restaurant – HarrogateI tried this new place and was very impressed, I recommend that you give it a try, great food and service…well done!!!
Kashmiri Aroma – IlkleyThe Scape House Inn was absolutely an unforgettable experience. The food was spot on and the selection of real ales were second to none!!! My wife and I stayed the night and had the benefit of an en suite room.......we would recommend it to anyone.
Scape House Inn, The – HuddersfieldDelicious food and nice decor inside. It was a little pricey but the food was worth it I thought.
Blue Bicycle – YorkI have often been sceptical about reviews but having visited Medici several times this year, they have never failed to deliver. So I thought for once I would write my own comments. Set in a beautiful mansion hall the decor, service and ambience is only out classed by the quality of the food. In addition to a superb menu the restaurant provides local and seasonal dishes on its special board with many dishes being worthy of a place in any top London venue. First class ingredients, cooked fresh and to order, presented as you would expect from a first class restaurant. Well worth any recommendation. Try it book make sure you book well in advance.
