I heard about Prashad from staff in the Bombay Stores a few years ago while I was undergoing retail therapy for the tragic complaint of "living down south". What a gem! I hardly need praise individual dishes as other reviewers have already done a great job but, for those in the know it serves the best Shrikand ever. I come all the way from Hertfordshire for gastronomic therapy - I envy you locals who can eat there more than once a year!

I first visited Prashad years ago when there was no eat in option. When they later added the indoor munchies, I moved out of the area. Just my luck!. Whenever I go to Bradford I make my way to Horton Grange Road and I have to admit, the area does not look promising. How is it possible that a multi award winning chef who beats the pants off of the top chefs from major hotels and restaurants works out of a place tucked away like this? But there it is and there she is. The food is cooked by her or one of her immediate family. The food is served by the family. You simply will not find anything closer to home cooking in ANY restaurant in the UK. No exceptions. Oh, and yes, it is awesome!

I visited Zouk a couple of weeks ago, and the open plan kitchen style was excellent. I was slightly disappointed with the overall layout of the tables, people seemed to be packed together like sardines, overall, the food was nice, (albeit small balti portions)... the portions in akbars and Mumtaz are much better. A member of the management was also there and he seemed a very friendly fella, mingling with customers, but one particular waiter that took our order was extremely unprofessional, and could not give us much advise or suggestions on the different dishes on their menu! i also agree with the earlier posting regarding the deserts menu, quite frankly a little odd mixing french deserts with traditional indian flavours... I probably wont be rushing back in a hurry.

Jewel of India : Truly A Jewel with mouth watering food taste and many to choose from excellent varieties specially the balti's that come in the brass bucket. set in the town of tourist attraction they have won hearts of many people that love to come over and over again . Excellent service provided by the staff And Manager it self giving a discount knowing it was our 1st time with them (made us feel like home and part of a family) when asked by Manger (Issy) Where i can purchase the balti dish (bucket) from because my grandma loved it and wanted it for her home, the manager told us and went away with a smile and return with a bag with a balti and placed it in front of my grandma bless him.

Prashad is great! I live locally and find it great - it's a lovely little restaurant with more concern for good quality food than a formal atmosphere. While being just big enough to accommodate an evening out with a large group of friends, it is also cosy enough to get to have a quiet chat or speak to the waiters. It also represents very good value, and is a bit of a Bradfordian 'best kept secret' by locals and students alike.

We decided to give Brasserie Blanc a go at the end of May, dispite hearing 2 bad reviews from friends. First impressions were good, the ambience of the restaurant were excellent and the staff were warm and welcoming. I had the starter of the pear and walnut souffle and it was like rubber - it had obviously been made quite some time before being served and had been warmed up! My choice of mussels for my 2nd course was not available (i get the impression this is a running theme at BB, things being unavailable) I opted for fillet steak which was fine but nothing more than a good pub meal. 3 of us opted for a cheesboard dessert (£7each) which came on one plate and was scarce to say the least. Having been to many excellent French restaurants in Leeds such as La Grillade, where the cheese trolley is the highlight of the meal the portion size at BB was outrageous. Bitterley disappointed even more so when the bill was £50 per person!! Would not recommend this restaurant and wonder if Raymond has ever stepped foot in the kitchen or whether it is simply his name that this restaurant lives off. Go to La Grillade its so much better.

I went on friends' recommendation. Astonishing. It's a tightly packed little place with an unprepossessing frontage and a door opening OUT, but with the fabulous food on offer all minor quibbles are forgotten. The service is outstanding - "la padrona" recites all the specials for you in case the menu isn't sufficiently appealing, we had complimentary pizza with our starters, saute potatoes with our main course, and a free shot of liqueur. The food itself was freshly cooked, and you can see the kitchen staff tolling away in an area smaller than my kitchen at home. And the dishes were of a uniformly excellent, no really REALLY excellent standard - tasty, hot, plentiful and genuinely Italian. I cannot recommend the place too highly. I've been twice in one week. And I'll hope to go again soon.

10 out of 10. Good pub food, in a clean and lovely pun environment. The place is lovely and spotlessly clean, the service was crisp and correct amount of attentive the food was lovely. Ate on a Monday night and the place was thriving. Definitely coming again, probably this weekend.

Just had a meal, and was lovely. Was my mums b'day party and we turned all 25 of us and we were treat really well. The pub was actually quite busy, but they coped well and all our food arrived at the same time. I had delicious barnsley chops. Yummy indeed, most of the party went for the 'all you can eat' carvery which I am told was lovely.

I can only presume that we visited this restaurant on a bad night. The food was ok but the seating and service ruined the evening. We were seated at a table towards the back of the restaurant and it was such a tight squeeze that I had to move the table to get in and out of my seat. The service was S L O W. In the end we left without dessert and and asked for a reduction in the price of the set menu. We won't be going again in a hurry!

I loooooove Samis. I went there this evening for a meal. I will certainly return. It is not very often I will give full marks to a restaurant, but I make an exception for Samis. I started off with Falafel it is divine, I had Lamb tagine with Apricots. It was perfect. The lamb was cooked to perfection. The taste was amazing. I for one and my Hubby for 2 will become regulars at his place....

I am a Londoner and was visiting my friends in Bradford who brought me here for dinner. What a grand little place this is. I hadn’t experienced this type of Indian Cuisine before so it was all new to me. But boy, what a revelation it has been! The Faluda drink was exquisite! We also had Cashew-Nut and Corn Rolls, Pani Puri, Masala Dosa, Utthapam and Idli sambar. You Indians are sheer geniuses to think of dishes such as these. Altogether it was a great meal and well worth my visit to Bradford. My friends tell me that there are such restaurants in London. So I must try and locate them. But I bet they do not have a Triple-Award-Winning South Asian Chef of the UK like Kaushy Patel here. So, you good people of Bradford; give the Prashad a try and I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed.

When my friends asked me where I would like to go for a meal on my birthday, I had no hesitation in choosing Prashad as it has become my favourite place to dine in Bradford. We chose Mango Lassi, Bhel Supreme, Pani Puri, Utthapam, Coconut Chutney, Idli Sambar, Chickpea Chole, Kitchri, Kadhi and Kulfi. I have not eaten such tasty food in any other Asian Restaurant in Bradford. We also bought a variety of Indian sweets from the take-away section. I only wish that it was a little nearer to my home but never mind, that won’t stop me from coming again.

I'm a frequent visitor to Scarborough but had never visited Restaurant 55 so whilst passing it on Saturday decided to give it a try. The menu states that the 55 special which is fish, chips, mushy peas and bread and butter is £5.95 bargain, there was however a large option underneath for an extra £2 and being rather hungry we decided to go for this one! The food arrived quite quickly and the portion was indeed large. However, I'm not too sure what they put in their batter but the chips just tasted bizarre, I'm sure some people wouldn't mind the taste but it wasn't for me nor my partner. The fish was large but was covered in a very thin and greasy layer of soggy batter not how fish and chips should be at all. Also the mushy peas were minted but only slightly which made them taste quite bizarre too. We did try and mention to the waitress that the food had been far from good but she wasn't at all interested and just said "oh dear!" All in all the worst fish and chips I think I have ever had and then when the bill came seemingly the tea and bread and butter weren't included in the price...£9 for fish, chips, mushy peas tea and one slice of bread is far from a bargain. Needless to say we won't be going back. One plus point though the view from the restaurant is quite spectacular such a shame the food can't match it.

I have visited a number of famous restaurants in Bradford and enjoyed them very much. But the one restaurant that I found very impressive was Omar Khans. The food was outstanding never tasted anything like it and the staff was very polite and provided an excellent service. I think it is the best in Bradford and would recommend it to anyone who has not tried it yet! KEEP THE EXCELLENT WORK UP! 5 STARS *****

I am not a vegetarian but I love to eat the meals that my Vegan friends cook for me. It was they who introduced me to this great little Vegetarian Café in Thornton. On the day we visited, the Specials Board had a Vegetables, Mushrooms and Almond Crumble. It was simply divine. And it came with a most wonderful salad! I award you full marks for your cooking skills. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I look forward to my next visit.
