Madras, The – HullAmaans is such a lovely restaurant, every time we have family visiting from down south we take them to the curry house. It is so reasonably priced that we can visit the restaurant regularly...beautiful meals everytime!
Saffron Desi – MorleyWe booked to stay at the Frenchgate Hotel on Sunday 25 May 2008 but reading previous reviews we had a lucky escape. When we arrived at the hotel we were advised there had been a booking error and we were booked out to another hotel. We did not make a fuss or complain and the acting manager appeared apologetic and in recompense for our inconvenience invited us to dine at their restaurant that evening. However at the end of the meal we were presented with the bill. Why didn't we say something? Surprise, shock, embarassment is the answer. Note to the owner: When presenting a dish two nights running it is important that the standard of presentation should remain the same. It is dangerous to talk about guests to regular patrons as you don't know who is listening. Pride comes before a fall - the customer is the true judge of the standard and quality of an establishment. Arrogance and self-importance are not attractive qualities. Let the food speak for itself instead of telling everyone who does and doesn't want to listen how wonderful it is. If you looking for somewhere to stay then Millgate House is a must and they will recommend restaurants where you are not told what an honour it is to be eating in the establishment! Moral of the story: To say sorry is easy - to mean it is quite another thing.
Frenchgate Restaurant and Hotel – RichmondEliano's is one of the few restaurants in the Teesside area that has any character. The staff are friendly, the food is good, the restaurant gives off a traditional Italian vibe. Also as a bonus, its one of the last restaurants in Middlesbrough to still provide an occasional live jazz scene.
Eliano’s Italian Brasserie – MiddlesbroughOn looking for somewhere to take two young Canadians I remembered Aldos in Cleckheaton. They made us feel very welcome and there was a lively and entertaining atmosphere. The food was very good and the service prompt and excellent. We felt special. Thank you for an excellent meal.
Aldo’s Pizzeria – CleckheatonWent to Raja's but was not at all impressed. I thought I would try there from recommendation. I often eat out at various different places & Raja's will never be on my list again. The food was nothing special, the drinks were expensive & 10% service charge on top which isn't stated when you look at the online menu for this place. There were seven of us dining there & we asked for water on the table - we were brought 4 glasses of water!!! We won't be eating there again.
Raja’s – RoundhayOrderd T-Bone steak , the chef was dressed in a Leeds united shirt and you can guess the state of the Meal , crap utter dry rubbish . What a let down , ii would never eat there again .
The Three Horseshoes – WakefieldI have concerns about the cleanliness of this pub
Black Bull – SheffieldI have eaten here numerous times and each and every time the food was gorgeous. Very pleasant atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff. Just about to book again for our wedding anniversary. Would highly recommend it and I personally would eat there every day if I could afford to!!!!
Grappolo Restaurant – HuddersfieldGood: Reasonable and sincere wine list. Menu that shows great potential if cooked properly. Bad: What arrived at our table on a Thursday evening was not cooked with passion. Salmon was slightly over done, the bed of noodles over cooked to resemble a portion of supernoodles. Likewise my wild boar was dry and the roast potato cake that came with it slightly bland and pointless. As a restaurant that one assumes is amongst the best in Harrogate it needs to pull it's socks up in the kitchen if it wants to continue charging the prices it does.
The Tannin Level – HarrogateThis is an oasis for vegetarians and vegans wishing to eat Indian cuisine in Bradford. It has the added advantage of having Kasuhy Patel, the winner of UK's Best South Asian Chef for three years in a row as the Head Chef. Dishes such as Bhel, Pani Puri, Masala Dosa, Utthapam, Idli Sambar that you would not find in other Asian restaurants are on the menu. One is always given a friendly welcome by the proprietors and staff. The prices are very reasonable too. Once tried it is very difficult not to come back again and again!
Prashad – BradfordAnother wonderful evening at the Frenchgate. The food is just perfect - the service is outstanding and the wine was fabulous. Go and see for yourself. We've been on several occasions now, and every time we relax, unwind and savour the entire evening. You MUST try the cheeseboard. David the owner is immensely proud of his private restaurant/hotel and deservedly so. A real gem.
Frenchgate Restaurant and Hotel – Richmonda delightful pub in the Holme valley serving high quality homemade food- with particular mention to the homemade chips! i have eaten at this restaurant on several occasions and struggle to find a local eatery to beat it! the price is very reasonable considering the quality and with excellent service. highly recommended.
Travellers Rest – HolmfirthAbsolutely fantastic. I have never visited a restaurant quite like this gem. fantastic atmosphere, perfect for the family. I am now a regular customer.
Orlandos Italian Restaurant – WakefieldThought the food was cronic!!! Would have sooner eaten at McDonalds!!! Nothing like the previous comment said, what a disappointment!
Ridgewood, The – Doncasterpop in to the rose and crown and be assured of a warm welcome from mick and chris, a friendly atmosphere, lively folk, and good pub food. I have been loads of times and a good time is always guaranteed. I strongly recommend it to you all.
Rose and Crown Inn Darton – Barnsleythis restaurant is gorgeous. anyone leaving inappropriate comments must be silly because everything about it are splendid. I would recommend this restaurant a wonder full place to go.good job m8
Quarter Deck – WhitbyI find the service here the BEST of any restaurant I have ever been to and trust me I've been to quite a few both in the UK and abroad!!! (Including places such as Gordon Ramsay at Claridges and the infamous Fat Duck) Iqbal or'Icky'as he likes to be called always remembers the order that goes with the face even if it has been quite some time since you've been! They also make dishes that are not on the menu at request - last time I went I asked the chef to make me a traditional Bangladeshi curry using lamb chops and let me tell you it was wonderful! The food is more authentic Bangladeshi as opposed to Indian however the usual 'English Indian' suspects like korma, madras and vindaloo are on the menu too but you'd be daft if you went for those when you consider how great the other dishes are!
