Last time I went past this place it was closed down - what a difference. The service is very good for a pub, food is good as well even if a little expensive.

Last time I went past this place it was closed down - what a difference. The service is very good for a pub, food is good as well even if a little expensive.
Triton Inn – BroughGreat service but quite expensive and food was good but not as good, say, as the Altisidora near Beverley.
Triton Inn – BroughOutstanding, food - divine, service - perfect, not lacking yet not overbearing, ambiance - just right, everything about this place made for an exceptional evening. Highly highly recommend it. Not cheap but like the adage says - "you get what you pay for". Superb.
Holdsworth House – HalifaxThis restaurant used to be very good but has rapidly declined perhaps due to complacency after building a good reputation. The waiters were extremely arrogant and unhelpful. The chicken was undercooked of one member of our party and on complaining he was summoned from his seat to the kitchen to be confronted by the chef. A wholly unpleasant experience and seriously overpriced for average food - if looking for a good restaurant in the Hull area restaurants to be recommended include: Lazaat in Cottingham, Luciano's in Hessle or San Luca in Hessle. Medici's will certainly have to get its act together to compete with the many other quality restaurants in Hull.
Medici Restaurant – HullI found the atmosphere in the restaurant was lively yet relaxed, the manager was very attentive and made the visit memorable, he went out of his way to make us feel like we were special and he was happy to see us. the staff were attentive to our needs and i would recommend visiting the restaurant. the food is as to be expected in this type of restaurant. I have visited many Frankies & Benny's over the past couple of years but never been made to feel this welcome
Frankie and Bennys – BatleyI would like to warn people about this Frankie and Benny's the staff are very good but the manager made our visit uncomfortable I attended with my wife and two children we were pushed in to the bar although empty table were available. The manageress had told us that we could not sit there as these tables were not for children. as we waited for our table a couple of business men came in and were sat directly in to the empty tables. This is definitely not as child friendly as other Frankie & and Benny's I have visited. I found the manageress rude and unwelcoming to me and family. I would say that her attitude changed when ever a man in suit came through the door. The food was ok nothing to write home about and under portioned from you would get at other Frankie and benny's. the waitress was very pleasant and seemed to be scared of the manageress.
Frankie and Bennys – SheffieldHave eaten here several times the food is always freshly prepared. Standard pub menu, but try the good selection of specials for both non-vegetarians and vegetarians. I highly recommend The Masons Arms as we have never been disappointed by the food or the people, whether locals or visitors.
Masons Arms – SkiptonAs an Aussie on a 9 hour wander around the Dales from Haworth to Ponden Hall and all around, on the way back to Haworth where I was staying it was great to come across The Wuthering Heights Inn when I was feeling like a good meal after almost 6 hours walking. Having ordered a Ploughmans Lunch and finding that one of the best red wines they had was an Australian Shiraz I went out the back to wait for my food to be served and then I felt right at home. With an Aussie red in my hand I sat down under two great big Fosters unbrellas to shade me from the Yorkshire sun - almost home sweet home! Thank you Wuthering Heights Inn - it was good food, great wine and wonderful shade and ambience. John Wilson, Melbourne. September 2007
Wuthering Heights Inn – KeighleyMy boyfriend and I visited Chaophraya after reading all the great reviews this place has had and we certainly weren't disappointed! There was a great buzz about the place and although it was busy, service was swift and it didn't feel overcrowded. The food was wonderful - the prawns were huge and everything tasted so fresh and authentic. I thought I didn't really like Thai food until coming here, now I realise that I've just been going to the wrong places! An added bonus is the decor which is tasteful and befitting of a Thai restaurant without being tacky. Overall a fantastic place to eat whether with friends, your partner or the whole family and great value too!
Chaophraya – Leeds City CentreI last went to McCoys at the Cleveland Tontine 15 years or so ago ..... and went again recently with my wife, sister and brother-in-law. I love my food, my wife appreciates food and service, while my sister likes ambiance and the food and service, while my brother in law APPRECIATES everything and is from LA where he has been Maître de at many very good restaurants... We were all BLOWN AWAY by the quality of the food, the service and the whole experience. Champagne to start .. fresh Irish oysters all round..... Hot foie Gras with Madeira, French Black Pudding with pickled pear, remoulade beetroot and horseradish sauce, Seafood pancake with Thermidor sauce and Herb rolled Tuna with smoked salmon and crab roll for starters - we all tasted each other's of course! Mains included Wild Mishroom Risotto .. Scallops with rocket and parsley puree with chilli, lemon and coriander butter .... Pan fried halibut with tomato and clam broth and Venison with rolled venison shank, savoy cabbage and spiced redcurrant sauce..... puddings (2) were shared again ... warm plum sponge and custard .. and warm chocolate tart with coffee anglais and coffee and walnut ice cream .. coffee and biscotti's upstairs in the lounge afterwards with our drinks. £170.00 without tip or service ... FIVE STARS .. and for special occasions
The Cleveland Tontine – NorthallertonFantastic atmosphere accompanied by fabulous food and good wine. The decor and layout of the venue transports you to a virtual holiday destination, the restaurant would not look out of place in a holiday resort, Greece maybe. The waiting staff were ever helpful and polite, the service was first class. Al round excellent night.
Kolize Pizzeria – HullGood Food and friendly staff who provide excellent service, we go here nearly all the time when we want a Chinese meal to eat in or take out!
Wing Wah – HarrogateWe had a meal last night (Wednesday) at Meze having read the reviews on sugarvine.com. We were not disappointed! It was reasonably busy, considering it was midweek, but the service we received was very good. The food even better! I had king prawns flamed in ouzo in a cream sauce to start, followed by kleftiko. The lamb fell away from the bone beautifully! Our bill for two, including a bottle of Chilean Merlot, was £58. We could have had cheaper food, but opted to order what we wanted. We enjoyed it so much we've booked a table for 13 people next month to take our family for my husband's retirement celebration.
Meze Restaurant – BrighouseI had lost my faith in Chips this has now been revived. James and his crew are very friendly and polite. Never rushed, top Quality Stuff.
Duke of York – Halifaxhad a great night last Saturday staff really lovely apart from scruffy arrogant barman .had a super meal home made good food will go again have to find out when he is off.
The Bottomleys Arms – HalifaxDisappointing when i booked i asked for directions surely implying it was our first visit - they should have told us it was byo wine and they didn't accept plastic.so we were totally unprepared- had to go to off licence and pool our cash together. food servings were quite small. the cost of the vegetarian food was over priced £10.50 for a main course of a small dish of beans in a tomato sauce with onion and a few mushrooms. how can they justify that when some of the meat dishes were the same price? wont reccommend or return
Aya Sophia Greek & Mediterranean Cuisine – Hebden BridgeAn evening at Doctor Browns led to a huge surprise, they actually do food, and great food at that, all home cooked and all meals under £7. Portions were massive too. People have gotta try it.
Doctor Browns – MiddlesbroughSuperb Food set in an informal cosy atmosphere. The owners are younger than you would expect but they certainly know what they are doing! Well worth a drive.
