Great food and service - basic menu but great if you're strapped for cash!

My wife and I consider ourselves as experts when it comes to curry. We have dined at almost all of the top curry restaurants in the country for many a long year. Most recently we have eaten at the Red Fort, Ziaka, Chutney Marys, Bombay Brassiere etc. etc in London and at places such as the Shimla Pinks, Agraah and Akbars nearer home. We are undoubted in our opinion that the Nawaab Khan Restaurant in Oakwood, Leeds by far surpasses the food quality of other Indian food outlets. The outstanding taste of the starters and main courses are complimented by what I can only describe as superb draught beer and lager. Now that is rare for an Indian restaurant. On our last visit, we ate the main course dishes of Lamb and cauliflower and Sajids' special with aloo paratha, poppadoms and vegetable pilau rice. The meal was top class in every respect and the friendly service was excellent. Suffice to say that we are reserving our table for our special occasions and parties on a regular basis. Well done Sajid, keep up the good work.

Could not complain at all, best Indian restaurant more miles.

I took a drive out to Lockwoods (closer than I thought to Leeds!) after seeing it on Sugarvine and had a really nice meal. The aesthetics are modern and well thought out which fits in nicely with the Ripon backdrop. I would recommend to all as it beats the socks off most city centre places that charge to much!

One of the best restaurants in leeds for sure. Brilliant service, the restaurant interior is a mix of modern minimalism and classic Thai, with a few mandatory elephants. Works really well. The food is very good too, good size portions. Not sure about the noodles though, a bit pricey I reckon. Get one of the set menus and you can't go wrong really, not bad value for money. I'd definitely return.

This Inn has recently changed hands and the new owners have improved upon the already high standard of Thai food that is available to Takeaway, eat in the Bar or the very pleasant Restaurant. I highly recommend it!

I think it? a brilliant Restaurant in Leeds It will be my favourite now, the pizza and pasta were great and Fresh and cheaper for Italians restaurant in Leeds. Service friendly and not pushy. All the best for La Besi

Excellent value buffet with a delicious range of authentic food served in lavish surroundings - no alcohol but this leaves room for some tasty virgin cocktails - can't fault the place

I would say one of the best places to eat in Leeds. Very relaxing atmosphere with Italian music and outstanding food, convenient prices and easy parking. I would definitely recommend it. A++++++

Jakes has to be the best place to go in Leeds. Its full of all the best people plays the best music and does the best cocktails-try the pink zombie! Its so good I practically live in there!

Highly recommended. The nicest Thai food I have ever eaten anywhere, by a long mark. I do not believe this restaurant can be bettered on any level, food (which was extremely good)/ service/ ambience/ value. A winner in every department.

Excellent café with delicious food and knowledgeable and friendly staff. I go at least once weekly for lunch, but often more times, and have never been disappointed. Great range of food for the size, and cater very well for vegetarians and vegans. Music is always excellent, ranging from Willy Mason to Joni Mitchell. The food and prices are excellent, but in my opinion it is the wonderful staff that make the whole experience. I recommend Dare highly!!

My husband takes me here as often as possible and every time is more special than the last. You are made to feel like family the minute you walk through the door. I took my two teenage children and they also loved it although my made up ghost stories helped. If you want fantastic food, to be treated like the most important people in the restaurant and to know your money was well spent and worth every penny, go now.

If there's one place im always guaranteed to be all the time its Jake's!! Home from home - it's the best bar in Leeds at the minute and in perfect position in the heart of call lane! The music is the best, the atmosphere is always great and the people are so laid back. Jake definitely did a good job here - a first love !! xx

One of our favourite restaurants and always endeavour to come here when we are in York which is roughly about twice a year

One of the nicest restaurants I have ever been to. Had to wait a while for a table but didn? mind at all as having a drink in the gorgeous bar area was lovely. Staff were excellent as was the food and it wasn? pricey at all. We got a pasta dish for main and were expecting a tiny portion because of price but there were loads! Would definitely visit here again.
