I visit once a year, entertaining clients and the food and service is always fantastic. Highly recommended.

Fantastic service and delicious food. Booking was a last minute choice and I did not regret it. Even made a bespoke green salad.

Enjoyed our meal yesterday Sunday . The veg, potatoes, Yorkshire and gravy were great. My pork was okay. However, brisket of beef was tough and my wife had to leave it. We did tell waiter this but no response.. Also had to chase staff up for drinks.

Took a long time for our food to arrive and the service was incredibly slow. Food was disappointing and not worth the money. Pudding unfortunately did not fair any better. Would not recommend, sorry

Had a nice meal. Nothing special. Wasn't happy with the service charge put on without asking. Service ok but didn't warrent 10%. I like to tip myself don't like to be told what to tip

Fantastic experience thank you so much for providing a great experience for me and my husband. The food was delicious and tasty the portion was excellent and the environment was cozy and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful I have nothing to criticize or complain. Thank you.

Visited Oakley's last night and would certainly recommend. I had a mushroom pizza and I can genuinely say it was the best pizza I have ever had. Also had seasoned fries and again very very tasty. Lovely surroundings and staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent restaurant and I'll look forward to going back.

Second visit this year and definitely remembered and recommended. From entering to leaving we were treated very well. The young lady serving was friendly and polite. Just go.

What a gem of a place! Our food was amazing and I desperately wanted the seafood money bag and fries but I have an intolerance to garlic which was in the thermador sauce but the chef made me some without it and what an amazing dish it was 1 of the best things I've eaten in a long time full marks guys. There was only 1 thing a bit weird for a french restaurant no brandy or amaretto after our meal but will still be back next time in Skipton .

The meal was lovely and the service was good. The prices have increased a lot since we last came and the menu had changed, but we enjoyed our meal.

Our visit to The Maypole Inn was very enjoyable. Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. Our meal was lovely, the steak was cooked to our liking and the sides were plentiful, in particular the home made chips which were lovely. We will definitely be back in the future possibly to stay a night in the inn.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary there had a fabulous meal. The fish money bag, had to be one of the top three meals I’ve ever eaten. Irish coffee also spot on

Good service, comprehensive menu and good food - will visit again

Two of us had Sunday lunch here. The portions were generous, the beef and chicken were both very tender and the Yorkshire puddings were huge! The food was tasty and very enjoyable. We managed to have e puddings as well! The staff were very helpful and attentive without being intrusive. There was a lot of noise from the kitchen which was a bit of a minor distraction.

Got off to a bad start as despite having booked online and received confirmation email , on arriving staff could not find our reservation so ended up sat at a spare table next to bar. Things got worse when they lost our order in the kitchen, so waited nearly an hour for starter to arrive as other guests around were being served. Then they forgot to bring out fries that were part of wifes main course, almost finished before we found they had been served to adjacent table. Whilst staff did recognise the poor service, and discounted our meal, it does rather detract from what is meant to be an enjoyable and relaxing evening. All of the staff seem to young and inexperienced, with no clear experienced manager which is what one might expect for a restaurant such as this .

The lunch was enjoyable but the bread and coffee were poor .

A birthday meal ruined by rude staff - 10th August 2026 Ambience is lovely. Staff were nice. Food was generally AMAZING the money bags came highly recommended and were fabulous however... I was given an Eton Mess dessert that was in a sundae glass and was purely meringue and cream with no fruit compote or fruit insight and then upon immediately refusing said dessert was charged £5 and told "we've never had an issue before, this is just how it is" How the staff's behaviour changed after giving negative feedback was the most concerning. Things should always be made right, apologising, offer of a free desert. It really ruined my birthday and the vibe for the whole evening. Despite our main meals being enjoyable the behaviour of the staff and handling of the situation left a really sour taste in my mouth, ruined my birthday evening and I would therefore not recommend this restaurant. Such a shame! Would love to have this negative experience rectified.
