The service was very poor you get you food but then you was waiting 15 to 20 minutes for your side dishes by then the food was cold. You are waiting 20 to 30 minutes for drinks because of no staff I was very disappointed

The Cedars – LeicesterOnce greeted we were told how the new Covid system works now and seated at our table. We had to figure out how to order food from the app which again wasn’t obvious which app. Staff were efficient and food came quite quickly, it wasn’t that busy in there though. Staff could have been more friendly and helping us ease in but Covid rules had changed again 2 days previous so maybe they were settling into that too. Food was good, salmon was small, steak was ordered rare purposely as it’s always overcooked at the cedars. It arrived medium rare which is what I actually wanted. Fajitas were good. Good value for money. A nice local easy place to eat relatively good food.
The Cedars – LeicesterWe are regular customers. The food is not Michelin standard but it is very good and certainly brings us back for more. Combined with the cheerful and efficient service in a pleasant ambiance we consider it all round good value. The restaurant is coping very well an safely with the Covid restrictions.
Cheikhos Restaurant – LeicesterA very charming restaurant, friendly service and excellent food.
Cheikhos Restaurant – LeicesterI always enjoy my visits to The Cedars because the food is excellent and the service and welcome very good.
The Cedars – LeicesterI booked the table online. On arrival, we were greeted by The Manager who was extremely helpful, checked our details and showed us to our table. The food was excellent and the staff very helpful. Great value for money and plenty of space for social distancing etc. I would recommend this venue to anyone
The Cedars – LeicesterWe came for lunch, the first time here since Covid. They handled it all very well, we felt quite safe and had a nice seat overlooking the fishpond. The service, quality of food and general atmosphere of the pub were all good. Well done.
The Cedars – LeicesterFood was wonderful - fresh, tasty and well presented. Great menu - so many choices Customer service - instant meet and greet, personalised and attentive Thank you - will see you again
The Lancaster Arms – Leicester3 out of 4 meals were ok. 4th meal was like something from An Iceland freezer. Soggy curly fries no meat on ribs just gristle and when mentioned was practically dismissed. Not great
The Cedars – LeicesterPopped in once for a recommended drink. Ian, the owner specifically introduced himself having heard we’d come on a recommendation and sold the Sunday VIP sharing platter so well, we booked for lunch with friends. We weren’t disappointed. I shouldn’t have had a starter though as the roast was plentiful - anyone saying otherwise is plain greedy. The meat quality was so superb we asked from where he sourced it, and the wine list had previously caught our eye anyway - there’s just no excuse for pubs / restaurants to serve rubbish wine, and Ian serves great wine without ridiculous mark-ups. So you get great service with a smile, great tasting, plentiful food which therefore means the price is good value, and if you like finer wines, you’re not robbed! What’s not to love! And to top it all, there’s great indoor and outdoor spaces with safe layouts! Awesome !
The Lancaster Arms – LeicesterPopped in for a leisurely drink one Saturday afternoon with my friend not knowing the pub had had such a dramatic transformation so just had to come back to try the menu out .... booked Sunday lunch with my partner last weekend and it was delicious. From the room we were guided to, the table we sat at, the glasses that our drinks were served in to how the food was presented to us (Sunday lunch sharing platter) .... Everything was absolutely fantastic. We have nothing but praise for all the staff that either took our order, brought our drinks or cleared our table - everything was done with a smile and nothing was too much trouble - what a refreshing change that made. Congratulations on ALL your efforts to making a trip out for a 'sup' and some 'grub' a lovely relaxing experience.
The Lancaster Arms – LeicesterVery good food as always. Service was good too.
The Cedars – LeicesterGreat food served in a beautifully refurbished pub in historic Desford. Local celebrity - Richard Plantagent, rightly honoured in a number of murals and art around the public areas, would no doubt enjoy a feast here. The numerous Gins gave a delightful browsing experience. Next time we'll explore the good looking wine list! Food was fabulous- beautifully cooked tender, sweet steak; fresh, white fish covered with a crisp light batter (as were the onion rings) and a glorious cheesecake. All served with just the right degree of attentiveness and knowledge. We will be back to dive in to the full menu once the Government let this beleaguered sector return to normal. Well done to the Team at the Lancaster Arms and see you soon.
The Lancaster Arms – LeicesterWe were a party of four found this place after dropping a friends son at university . The staff were helpful and pleasant. The food arrived quickly and was good value for money . Best vegan burger I’ve ever had . The other guest meals were also plentiful and tasty will be returning great atmosphere and quite good outdoor space
The Cedars – Leicester5 star excellent
Cheikhos Restaurant – LeicesterWe love going to the Ciders as the food is lovely and if you order from the menu then the portions are a good size. The Lunch time menu are good too. My favorite used to be a Pound (1lb) of Lamb Chops but unfortunately they have stopped doing them. I would love it if they get it back on the menu. Food is 10/10 They have re-painted the external of the building and it looks good, they can do with internal decor too.
The Cedars – LeicesterExcellent 5***** For the host Cheikhos impeccable hosting. This is the second time I visited in August. Cheikho made myself and my family feel welcome and comfortable . The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. All tables were clean to a high standard. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and welcoming. We had a plethora of choice from the authentic Italian menu., We all ordered a 3 course meal each and all the dishes were tasty absolutely delicious and also looked appetising as they were presented to us . There were definitely no small portions. We would highly recommend anyone to dine at Cheikhos . I’m sure my family and friends will be paying a visit soon. Thank you so much Cheikho , for running such a wonderful restaurant and offering such superb dishes.
Cheikhos Restaurant – LeicesterI love this place, the service is great and so personal. The food is delicious; myself on this occasion having the seafood linguine which had huge king prawns and mussels in. Alcohol is also well priced. The atmosphere in the restaurant is perfect for a romantic evening but there also bigger table spaces which would accommodate larger groups. Everything was wonderful. Thank you
