I have been in this pub 2 times on the way to my holiday ,and now going down from Leeds to Acre touring site ,around the 11th November and hope to spend more time in this pub. Thanks Robert.

Do not go here. took them long enough to take our order let alone serve our food. Took well over an hour for our food to arrive with no warning or apology. One of our party left because it was taking that long and they refused to let me leave until I paid for his food, blocking me from leaving the restaurant for ten minutes whilst they ignored the rest of their grumpy customers. When the food arrived it was poor quality, incredibly mild (despite asking for medium/hot) and lacking any real flavour. I love Indian food and living in London often go to tooting which is the hidden home of curry. I can only recommend that you try everywhere to get a table before heading here.

Really good top draw fish and chips. Clean premises, tasty food, friendly polite staff. Always go if I'm ever staying in the village. Live 12 miles away in the city of Lincoln and have in the past made the 24 mile round trip for there food!

Clean comfortable venue, friendly welcome, excellent food well presented on the plate, at a reasonable price. I can heartily recommend the rump steak and the mixed grill.

I found this establishment to be a cosy and welcoming place. The staff are warm and courteous. The food is among the finest of its type that I've ever enjoyed and excellent value for money. I travelled 15 miles to reach Alford and the tea room ensured the journey wasn't wasted. I will be visiting regularly in the future.

The food here is lovely. The service was also good. I would recommend chicken balti and mango lassi which is a lovely yoghurt type drink. You should definitely go for a meal here!

The Malt Shovel is one of the best places in scunthorpe for the best homecooked food it is always hot and cooked to a high quality and for the price its the best .

What a fabulously relaxing place to be in if you need to escape the pressures of this world. Would highly recommend it to anyone.

Hi, afterall we don't have so many discos in Spalding so it's a pity, that Punchbowl is run by such boorish , rude and violent man. Yesterday with a group of friends I went there. We were enjoying ourself in a small circle just a few steps from so called “DJ “ Punchbowl Pete. One of our friends touched Christmas decorations which were dangling above his head .Then Punchbowl Pete without any word of explanation or warning approached him rapidly from behind and hit the back of his head with his fist. Then equally rapidly he withdrew himself back behind the console. So when our friend turned back he could not even see who the hell hit him. And rest of us who were in front of him, even if we could see it all very well, we gazed confused and surprised by such state of affairs. I have to say I've been to many places and I've seen many things but I've never encountered such outrageous behaviour of a owner of the establishment towards his customers. To me such thing is no more no less but a criminal offence. However, all of you who are reading this review, please be advised, you don't have to expose yourself to this kind of treatment

Great little hidden gem for real ale drinkers and cider and wine drinkers, not the cheapest in town but great quality products that go down really well. We love the fact they change there ales every week in the wife cannot get enough of the rekorderling ciders, a must visit

Very nice carvery good selection of food at good prices very tidy set up as well .Really enjoyed meal at The Brck.
