Excellent! The food was delicious and the staff were so lovely and welcoming! I would defo recommend the Gambas & of course the Patatas. The meatballs are a must also! Will be going back!!

As always, the staff team and food were excellent. My wife and I went with four children, and we really appreciated the friendly and warm welcome.

Lovely, warm welcome. Food was good but service a bit slow but that wasn’t a problem as my friend and I wanted to chat and catch up.

I took my other half to Matthew's Kitchen to celebrate her birthday, with our 6-year old son in tow. It was our first time dining at the restaurant, having driven past many times and vowing to give it a try, and can confidently say that we had a great experience. We were warmly greeted at the entrance, and the service was impeccable throughout the meal. The food itself was delicious. We had the galcian-style octopus and croquettes for starters - both very tasty, with the octopus standing out. We both had the roasted monkfish tail, which was cooked to perfection, whilst our son enjoyed the fish and chips from the kids menu. Overall, a fantastic seafood restaurant and we'll look forward to going back - am eager to try out the seafood bisque next time!

My wife informed your staff that she has a serious food intolerance and can’t eat various things including spices. She was assured that the prawn starter could be prepared without spice so ordered the dish. On eating the prawns it was immediately clear to my wife that they came with chilli. It was then confirmed that the prawns are all marinated including in chilli. My wife suffered a painful stomach for several days as a result. Fortunately unlike other recent cases involving Costa and Pret A Manager the incident was not fatal. Another diner may not have been as fortunate. I respectfully suggest that action is taken without delay to avoid a repetition.

Had lunch at Matthews Kitchen on Sunday my dish mixed grill sea food and my husband's dish, dover sole were utterly delicious. The lovely girl who was waiting on us made the lunch even better. Food and service were just great but have been going there for several years and have never been disappointed.

Our first (overdue) visit to this wonderful family-run restaurant. Very friendly service, fantastic food. Fabulous decor and very comfortable seats. Great and well-priced cocktails. Will come again and hopefully soon!

We tried it a couple of years ago and we keep coming back every few months whenever there is a special occasion - birthdays, anniversaries, etc It's our 'go to' place. Very few (chain or non-chain) restaurants genuinely specialize in fish (rather than it being just another necessary sideline on a broad-spectrum menu), and do it perfectly. Matthews's Kitchen never disappoints. Great service in every respect, as you might expect of a family-run restaurant - itself a rarity. Waiting for the next 'excuse' to come round again.

Great fish restaurant. Myself & my partner booked last minute on a Friday evening. Glad we did as was very busy as the evening went on. We had the fish platter & the whole Dover sole. Both excellent, a real treat. Service was a wee bit slow but our very nice waitress explained they were one short that evening. You could tell, they were run off their feet! Waiters were super friendly & helpful all the same. A really lovely family run restaurant. Bit expensive but a treat.
